  1. So I need to find a way for a Mitsubishi PLC to communicate with a PC - ideally sending a binary number through ethernet to a PC program that reads it and tells the PC which files to open. I think I can create the PC program with C++ or Visual Basic without too much struggle. But I am unsure of how to get that binary ID from the PLC and into the PC program. I have done a little bit of research on MX Component and MX Sheet, and also MC Protocol but all seem a bit outdated and/or just over my head and I need some better explanation - I'm pretty new to PLC and programming. I feel like it shouldn't be terribly difficult to get 1 external binary number into a PC program. I'm sure someone has done essentially the same transfer and I just want some ideas. -What kind of connection support do I need to transfer data (Likely just a D-bit) from a PLC to PC? -How would that/those bit(s) be accessed in Visual Basic or C++? I'm assuming some type of library function that will call the value

  4. Is there any way of viewing a remote Proface GP or LT screen inside a second GP or LT screen? I want to do this to avoid creating and loading duplicate screens. Essentially it would be like using GP Viewer-EX where the PC is replaced with another GP or LT unit.
  5. Modbus Addressing in Weintek HMI

Modbus addressing in Weintek HMI to poll data from Temperature sensor through RS485. In my system i have connected Temperature sensor to I/O Scanner has output in terms of RS-485 which directly connected to COM3 Port pin. No. 6 (as Negative) & 9 (as Positive) of HMI (Model No: MT8071iE) and HMI connected to PC via ETHERNET. I want to read temp on HMI screen via MODBUS protocol. So, can you please provide me instruction about addressing of MODBUS register in Easy-Builder Software so can read data of corresponding register. Because when i do compile i got an error like " Device no Response". I hope i will get reply from your side as Fast as possible to overcome this problem. Thank you.
  6. Parity Error

Any one  have any experience to due with Parity Error when RS485 input can't get? Below is the circuit trace i get. It shown me that Parity Error when input signal from my device. But some of the time I can get the input message completely. Sometime can't. Is there any way to solve it?
  7. I have a cpu33 that I had issues with a bad battery and it loaded from memory card.  The version on the card was old so I decided to download the latest version from 2 days ago to it.  When I did, I lost communication through ethernet.   Can't connect through usb either.   The thing that baffles me is that I can ping the plc at the address and I get a reply.   Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated as I am not familiar with omron plc's at all.  Also on the display it cycles through Er HE 1P 07.
  8. i am new in plc programming . i know the basics difference between the rs232, rs422, rs485. but i am little bit confused in it. so i have the following question regarding these terms. 1.  can these protocols communicate with each other i mean rs232 can communicate with rs422 or rs485 and same. 2. my plc has port rs422  but i can connect it with my laptop serial port which is rs232 ? 3. what are the main important points that kept in mind during communication or cross communications.   any help will be greatly appreciated.
  9. Dematic PTL

For the Dematic PTL (Push To Light) systems, does anyone have any information on the protocol used.  I'm assuming it's RS-485 based since the buttons use MAX1487 drivers. What I'm looking for is if anyone has a starting place to look at the handshaking or messaging.

  11. PC-PLC CP1E - USB-to-SERIAL cable

Hi,   I have a self-bought usb-serial cable converter for CP1E. Currently can't connect to my PLC using PC. CX-One says "Failed to the PLC". I am supposedly to use "SYSMAC WAY" as my Network Type in PLC settings?   EDIT: The CPU type is N30   I've checked the following settings: 1) COM number is correct ( as checked from windows Device Manager side) 2) Cable driver is installed, there is no "unknown" driver in my windows Device Manager 3) My RS232C LED in PLC is not lighted up.   Any other suggestions to check settings ive missed out would help, other than buying a new cable for the moment.   Regards, Summerstone
  12. NX-105 Received Data

Hello,  PLC: NX1P  Comm module: NX-CIF105   I am running a serial (RS485) network to control several motors. As a trigger for to read the serial port I am using the ( Ch1 Receive Data Exist) bit, which is an internal bit that's ideally should be energized when there's data in the Receive buffer. However, this bit isn't reliable at all. I am reaching out today to figure out if there's another way to trigger the receive command ( preferably without a delay)    thank you all  Cheers!
  13. I recently purchased the SIEMENS CONNECTION KIT (6ES6400-1PC00-0AA0) with its corresponding serial cable to connect to a MICROMASTER 440. I connect my RS232-USB cable to the serial cable. But I can not connect in any way! What do I do wrong? 1. In the micromaster 440 I put the following USS configuration parameters (USS = serial communication):    p2010 = 6    p2011 = 0    p2012 = 2    p2013 = 127 2. I put the DIP of the Connection Kit (Ref. 6ES6400-1PC00-0AA0)  1 ON, 2 OFF, as indicated in the manual.    I connect the connection kit module with its serial cable to my RS232-USB cable. And I connect the USB to my PC. 3. Open "Set PG / PC interface" and select PC COM-Port.USS.1 4. I go to the properties and I am selected COM1 without problems. 5. But I do the transmission speed test and can not find anything. 6. Also in the diagnosis of PC COM-Port.USS.1 I do the test and can not find anything. Supposedly my RS232 cable is correct (I have tried several tests). And the configuration of the COM port in "device manager" also looks correct. What am I doing wrong?? Zhanks!
  14. Hello, I have managed to send output to a terminal using a serial channel.  I have not been able to send data from the terminal to the Mitsubishi PLC. I am not using terminating resistors but I have a slow baud rate of 4800.  I am just using regular wires (1.5mm square) .  I think the hardware is okay as I can see the output from the PLC on the screen. Attached is the code.  I just send from the terminal the character 22 every second, I hope this is not too incomplete to get some help.   The plan I guess later is to interface with LabVIEW probably using Modbus but I need to try to get this working first.     UL9.gx3
  15. Hey guys,   I have worked on the FTView ME platform many of times.  I am now working on a FTView SE (Local Station) application, and I am having trouble connecting an Offline .ACD file to my program so that I can design.   If someone could help me with this it would be greatly appreciated.   Thanks in advance!
  16. Morning Guys, For my latest project I need to read a gas sensor via 485 from a Momentum PLC. I've been through the help files, but they seem to only raise more questions than they answer, they only seem to reference PLC -> PLC comms. I've had a play with the 'MBP_MSTR' & 'OUT_IN_MBUS' function blocks, but i can't seem to get anywhere, Has anyone got any examples of reading in data via 485, or can anyone lead me in the right direction?
  17. RS485 Async

Hey guys I don't have much experience in PLC serial communication and I'm tasked to integrate 6 OP-905 scales with our EATON based control system. The scales are rs485 asynchronous serial communication, my concern is that if the device is not designed to be an RTU then I cannot use modbus. And if that is the case how do I talk to multiple scales using the async protocol. Has anyone done this in a similar platform?
  18. QJ71C24N-R4 G.Input command

I need some help with G.input and g.output commands. I have a Q04UDEHCPU and my slots are as follow: slot 0 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 1 - QJ61BT11N cclink slot 2 - QJ71C24N-R4  2-channel RS4222/RS485   I need to have 2 separate RS485 stings going to different devices. I cannot find the way of setting up the g.output command. G.Output "Un" (s1) (s2) (d) "Un" says it is the start I/O signal of the module, but I am not sure what that means. What there be a different "Un" number for each channel?

  23. Hi all, I will be starting on my MSc in automation in a couple of days so for that reason i have obtained a S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY PLC. This is a new area for me as i have been working in offshore since i graduated from my BSc a couple of years ago. I watched some Youtube tutorials on how the programming is done and i am ready to try it out for myself, but i have encountered a little problem.   Problem: I am using the X1 P1 PROFINET (LAN) port as a connection to my PC, this turns the Green Link light on and the Rx/Tx lights blinks orange. Now to the problem, i cannot connect to the PLC through the TIA portal, no matter what settings and connection types i use in the PG/PC interface box. I have had no luck finding leturature adressing how to configure the PC/software and get a connection to the PLC. Do any of you have a PDF or link which can help me through this problem?  Hardware: S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY 6ES7 211-BE40-0XB0 S C-J5PN 1614 2017 FS:05 Software: TIA Portal Version 13 STEP 7 Professional V13 WinCC Basic V13   Thanks   Best regards   Dennis

  25. Hello all  i'm looking for some software to record a 100 plus channels maybe with an ascii string from a PLC? i want to be able to assign each channel with a unit and a range, flagging feature would be nice.  - selecting the channels i want to view  - auto start recording - save file and start new automatically  -view and create reports  preferably no additional hardware because of the amount of channels. this is to record an operators every move so in events of damage or plant failure we can quickly identify the problem (point the finger)  many thanks dan
