  1. Hello Experts We have a machine with Mitsubishi Servo MR-JE-2008 With PLC Fx 5U & HMI GS2107 Yesterday we altered PLC by adding a row with input and timer & used this Input in next rung for weld start Although we did not  find any linkage but found "'Screen error Ok"' on HMI and after pressing Ok, HMI screen getting blank. We restored original PLC backup - PLC in Run Mode still ""Screen error Ok"" on HMI Via GT designer 3, we have loaded HMI backup, now HMI screen is OK and normal Getting Ab on Mitsubishi drive - we feel it is not an error but due to this we are unable to rotate motor although other functions like door open/close etc Ok In PLC, online mode, we are finding Servo in ON but unable to understand Ab on Drive and may be due to this, unable to rotate motor Please refer to attached HMI, PLC & Servo Backup Request advice HMI BACK UP.GTX PLC BACKUP.gx3 Flange Welding_Tag Line Servo Backup.mrc2
  2. Motion Control

Hi Everyone.   I have been tasked with changing out an older Flex Drive servo drive to a more modern Micro Flex drive in a machine that has an Omron CQM1H-CPU51 PLC.  I'm having a few issues but hope that i can gain some clarity around at least one of the hurdles Im facing from here. Biggest issue for me at this moment is My work hasn't yet purchased a programming lead for this PLC (or even the bits required to make one myself) but i have a feeling the control for the Servo is done via motion control in the PLC.  Question here is, if changing from one servo drive to another type, will the motion control code need to be updated to work with the new servo drive?  I have very limited experience with motion control itself at this stage so I'm a bit lost when it comes to these sort of details. Regards Kiwi_man82
  3. Hello I am not sure if anyone know how to select cable cross section for 5KW AC motor? Thank you
  4. question about ABB ACS800 control

I am not a drive person (far from it...),  but I am working on a project using a number of ACS800 drives.  On one drive (only seeing this issue on one drive,  as far as I can determine) - when I specify a target speed and also specify maximum acceleration - there is a (significant) difference in terms of the accel time whether I have the drive set to internal speed control vs. external (encoder) control.  It takes almost exactly twice as long to get up to speed when set to external vs. internal.  (And problem with keeping it set to internal is that we lose accuracy at higher speeds,  and also at very low speeds...).  The most obvious issue would be a bad or improperly set encoder module,  but speed of motor is correct (as measured by tach) whether using internal or external.  Encoder module was also swapped for new one,  with no difference.   The only parameter that I am changing is speed by external encoder vs. internal  (I think that it is parameter 98.01).  Would anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this?   Thanks for any ideas!
  5. Kinetix 5500 lost power

Hello all,    I have 3 kinetix 5500 drives connected in series but some how the 3rd drive lost power. all the fuses in the cabinet look good. nothing else is tripped either.    any advice is appreciated.  thank you
  6. Hello All, I'm a newbie to Omron programing  I have a program where I want to control a stepper motor with 1 plc output "pulse output0"  in my program I used PLS2 instruction but when I execute the instruction the motor won't rotate and the plc outputs are off, My wiring is fine, and my plc is CP1E-N40S1DR-A MY 1st output is pulse output 0 Q100.0 and also the driver wiring with the stepper motor is good ( I did a test with siemens plc the motor does work fine ) , what could be the problem? thanks, PLC OUPUT 0 SETTING
  7. Hello everyone    I am working on modbus TCP protocols to communicate between SEW drive and Omron PLC CP1L-EM. I am following modbus TCP function block from Omron, But i have updated that block because of is not fit to SEW modbus communication. Currently, I am sending a control work to SEW but I am getting error on Modbus TCP from SEW drive, which is invalid data. So I am looking your help is you work with SEW drive before and communicate over modbus, then please let me know how to make a data string for read and write (SEW Drive function 23). I am using 3PD data structure.    Thank you
  8. Dear forumers, It started on ISPsoft end nov. 2021. I have to program a MS300 drive. It is a very interesting software. And even if it is a bit rigid, in ladder for example, I begin to like it. I would need some help though, especially on the APIs properties. Indeed, the F1 help doesn't work well. Sometimes it doesn't open (can bypass), sometimes the APIs I’m looking for is not in it.  In the different pdf's I have gathered, the APIs, especially those concerning the MS300 variator, are not all explained. Does anyone have precise literature, official or personal, on these APIs?  It is difficult to program by having to guess/test. The doc. I currently have: Delta Standard Compact Drive MS300 Series User Manual (2 PDF : one with 688 pages, one with 510) 2 Quick guid, probably done by my seller (Word format) ISPSoft User Manueal (2 PDF : 2017/06/14 with 840 pages; 2021/03/29 with 1160 pages) A few DVP PLC PDF : DVP-28SS2; SA2; SS2… I also had trouble installing the last 2 versions of ISPsoft on a Windows 7 pro 64 bits PC. The V3-14-0 version refused to install, displaying an inability to write to a temporary folder. The V3-13 version (SW_20210420) just froze during installation. No info. I didn't look further (the client is coming netxt week), I stayed at 3.12.01 (beta) Has anyone ever had this? I will try insall V3-14 on a windows 10, and also try a monitored install on my one personal PC at home with w7 pro 64b. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me. I have contacted DELTA support in Europe and am waiting for answers. As well as my seller, who has technical competence, has already used this software, but is far from having answered all my questions. Best regards, KsioP
  9. Hello, I wonder who can help me out here. I am new to the CX programmer. I want to communicate to selema drive through CX programmer. The drive is IPS plus Selema. The company was gone in 2017. There is no manuals regards to the drive. Here is the issue, in the program. The SPED block show port specifier is 10, the INI blcok show Port specifier is 0. Refer to the PLC picture, my first questions which one is port 10? I think port 0 is the left bottom cable from the second picture. So port 10 is the last module?  Second, Do anyone have manual or knowledge with the selema drive? Is there another one to communicate with the drive not using CX programmer?   thanks
  10. Powerflex 400 25HP wird amp behavior

ello I have a powerflex 400 of 25HP for a 60amp 25HP motor, the motor have a belt that move the clarifier of milk. It is a process that requires strength to move.So I try with the motor without the clarifier the vdf works well with a constant amp of 12 to the max of 50hz that is set up with a ramp of 600 sec. Then I try with the belt that move the clarifier... The vdf start the ramp with a wird amp behavior like 10 sec 100 amp and then 13 amp for 10 sec. When it gets to 50hz (the max) it starts the same behavior 13 amp when it reach the max RPM and when it decrease a little bit it gets 100 amp to get to the max RPM again. In this vdf powerflex 400 I didn't see the % of torque options that the last one Fuji had.Someone told me that powerflex 400 is not for power processed, they are focus in pumps and blowers more alike, and that I need a vdf vectorial like a powerflex 725.What do you think...PD: as the 100 amp is like 10 sec the protections dont show up. PD: I made a try with water and hot water, in that point with the max hz  (and 6800rpm) when the hot water start to flow the amp gets constant in 75 amp, but the motor dosnt get to the 6800 rpm again it just keep trying in 6700rpm and it mantains the 75amp triggering the motor protection for overload.
  11. HELLO EVERYONE THERE IS THIS PROJECT WHERE I CHANGED THE OLD SERVO SETUP WITH NEW SERVO DRIVE MRJ4200A-RJ SERIES. OLD SERVO HAS A REVOLUTION OF 15 BITS BUT NEW SERVO HAS 22 BITS RESOLUTION. PROGRAMMING IS SAME BUT MY DISTANCE CALCULATION IS DIFFERENT NOW AND MACHINE DOES NOT GIVE CORRECT DISTANCE. PLEASE HELP ME
  12. Alternative Servo Drives

I'm sure many of you are in the same boat with supply issues and elongating lead times with the Logix 5500 and 5700 servo drives. Are there any decent alternatives that are easily integrated into a 5380 controlled system, maybe with an AOI? I've looked at Beckoff and Parker systems, but Parker only seem to line CoDeSys as far as I can tell. Do any of you clever clogs have any suggestions for a well stocked alternative? As a side note, I'm not new to PLC programming, but I am only 6 months in to using motion and servo systems so be kind :)
  13. Kinetix 6000 drive Gurad

Hi,  Can someon help me with the following question. Like what makes a Kinetix 6000 drive a Guarded drive ? What type of safety stuff can you set to make it more safe.  Is it some parameter ? I am bit confused, by the manual. Should I active it in the PLC program or how ? Or it is some setting like a safe speed or torque.  I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much ahead.  Have a great day, thanks for the reading.
  14. Hi , we have Fx3U-128MT and a Hybrid Stepping Motor 2 Phase (17HS4401).   Do we need to install  FX3U-2HSY-ADP to control the stepping motor or we can program it no problem using  PLC User's Manual - Positioning Control Edition? Do we need  a Driver?
  15. Good morning guys,  in your experience what is the best way to syncrhonize a motor controlled in speed with an inverter and a motor controlled in position with a servo drive? Let me explaine better what is my situation: I have a belt running normally at a certain constant speed. in some moments, I would like to syncrhonize the speed according to an axis controlled from a servo. the command of a servo specific position target and of course speed and acceleration e deceleration rate. I would like to adjust the belt speed in way to follow as accurately as possible the servo movement. Thanks a lot Andrea
  16. home postion servo J3

Hi, I have a Mitsubishi Servo motor with its amplifier MR-J3-350T. I lose the home position. How can I set the value of the position to zero if I detect a home detector. I use gx developer. thank you
  17. Kinetix 5500 and motor setup

Hi, I am quite newbie in the PLC world but I got my hand on a Kinetix 5500 (model 2198-Hxxx-ERS2) with a VPL-A0631E-C motor. I also have a CompactGuard logix 5380 to program it. I am doing a "for fun" project to experiment and learn how the devices work.  My first question is about power wiring. In my understanding from the manual, the Kinetix 5500 main power can be configured as three-phase or single phase (Using the L1, L2, L3, GND connector - think is called IPD). In my home I have a classic 220V (EU) socket. Is there a way to connect the Kinetix directly to my socket? I tried a few random stuff like L1 -> L , L2 -> N or L1 -> N , L3 -> L,  (GND -> GND) but every time the circuit would break. (Actually, I had one lucky attempted where the circuit did not fail with  L1 -> L , L2 -> N, and I managed to operate the motor, but when I reconnected it again it failed. Am quite buffled about the issue here. I am using a socket splitter if that something to comment on.) The second question is about purchasing an actuator. I found many interesting stuff like index tables or linear actuators. I requested a few quotes from some vendors but the price range they provided is a bit off budget for me (the majority was more than 2k). I am looking for some thing to attach to the motor in a price range of 1k - 1.5k. Do you have any suggestions for me? There are no load requirements. I just need to have a moving part so that I can for example put a barcode sticker on it and change the behaviour reading on that. I could attach something handmade but I am willing to put something extra to buy commercial equipment. As I am new to this, feel free to comment any inaccuracies or misconceptions. Happy to learn.
  18. hello dear team, im trying to make a back up for some FR-E700 with the FR CONFIGURATOR SW3 but when i start the communication with the USB cable the software cant recognize any port by the way im using windows 10 in my laptop and when i check the devices administrator it doesnt shows in USB ports the drive info just in other devices and in details shows: "USB device was not migrated" does anyone know what can i do?
  19. I searched FX5 manuals and it appears that with the high speed inputs I can run a stepper motor without a motor controller. I have little experience setting up a new system with any motor but have made changes with servo issues. I sent a request for info from my supplier but I still have some questions/requests.   1. Can an FX5U control stepper motors without a motor controller? 2. If not then what Q/R series setup is required 3. Are there any document to help understand? (program examples are welcome)   Main objective is to run a sensor head to 3 or 4 specific points using a belt driven linear actuator with a nema motor.
  20. PLC Panasonic FP0R Motion Control

Hi, I am using FP0R C32T, i use FPWIN GR to make plc program using jog operation instructions F172. I used the program exactly like manual, but still got error code 45? Did anyone know about this thing?
  21. Good Afternoon  im a complete newbie when it comes to PLCs but have done plenty of PIC programming in the past. I've been gifted a couple of FX0s 20mr units to try to repair something I made with PICs years ago. It got damaged during a move and I can’t see well enough now to make PCBs anymore so thought that this might be a solution. The basic operation is  1. switched on 2. motor A moves till hits limit switch (X000) 3. Wait 2 seconds 4. motor reverses till hits second limit switch (X001) then once this has been completed then the following  5. Motor B turns clockwise for 30 seconds then stops  And while Motor B is turning I need Motor C to turn until hitting limit switch (X002) I then need to get it to repeat on the press of a button but I need to reverse operation of Motors B and C I am using double position relays to drive the motors so motor A is on Y000 and Y001 if I power either relay the the motor turns in that direction. Same with Motor B and C Y002 to Y005 is this something that’s possible with one of these controllers or am i going to be programming a PIC to control the PLC ?   All the various COM and powers are connected up, I can individually make every motor do what I want, but the program doesn't flow from one item to the next. but this is probably just me
  22. Is there a way to monitor the Temperature of a Servo Motor on Allen Bradley Servo motors... MPL? PLC: CompactLogix 1769-L30ERM Drive: Kinetix 6500   Motors: MPL-B310P-MJ72AA, and  MPL-B560F-MJ72AA I would like to be able to monitor the temperature, and flash a warning screen on the HMI if the Motor gets too hot, or perhaps shut down the operation before the Motor overload trips. The drive and PLC are connected through Ethernet IP What I don’t know is if that Motor heatsink temperature information is available to the PLC.
  23. Hello, Have this error come up constantly and can't be reset. Motor hasn't tried to drive at all. Second motor showing same problem. This is a new configuration on new machine. Other inverters configured without any problems. Anyone seen this before or any ideas what could be the issue.
  24. stepper motor position control

Hello, I need to have a cx-programmer code which I can control my linear actuator position by setting 3 positions with timer, I am using a CP1L pro'skit
  25. Sample blocks for S7 1200 plc's

Hi experts, please share the sample blocks for the EDITABLE TIMER block it should be editable from HMI(Siemens). And also motor run hour block. Actually i am having all blocks in tia v12 version and sadly i dont have the old software to convert it again. So please share the blocks that it shoud be work in TIA V14 for s7 1200 plc's. Please note that the blocks should use add instructions to calculate the time because i don't have much memory.
