  1. Hello all, I have 7 Q series PLCs on a Melsec net/h network, Ladder Programming none of that fancy smancy ST stuff LOL. Were running the QJ71LP21-25. Now to keep it short I have used all most all my devices in my Network Range Assignment. I can not set up low speed range as I do not have enough Link relays and registers at all stations. No memory for more devices just trust that I can not do it... However I have an abundance of File Registers ( no I cant buy B or W in the PLC File params, well I can but it wont help because only one CPU is UDE the rest are H.) I have a project in which I must see about 50 words for each Station at every Station. I figured while I am setting up a Transient Transfer I will make a bunch of extra room for future updates and junk. My answer good or bad, is to set up some Send/Recv commands and do some Transient Transfer. I think I have it just about all figured out just a few questions. I have two manuals I have been getting my info from Q MELSECNET/H Network System Reference Manual ( I think SHNA080049)  and the Melsecnet/h training manual.  1.Any one have any better manuals that better cover transient transfer? Or that are new enough to mention GX Works2 instead of Developer? 2. Is there a max device for each send/recv? (I keep thinking it is 980 per station but no idea where I got this number)( I will increase the max # of transients in the supplementary settings under network range...) 3. Any precautions or advice like, Hey don't do this, I did this once and.... 4. It looks like as long as I use different logical channels for each station I should be able to send and receive multiple "messages" at once with no error?? (I will test this and look for the "no room in receive buffer area f222 error)  5. Will this slow down the Cyclic transfers (I will be watching the SW006D and so on to make sure it does not slow my regular transmission down.) 6. I will be using several special relays and registers in the program of course. Any I should use that are not obvious?
  2. We have L61's and L63's and are looking at upgrading them to the L7 equivalent. Has anyone had any experience of this and any pitfalls to avoid? Tech support have said that there might be issues with the comms cards resolved by updating their firmware. Is the upgrade that simple? We currently use Logix5000 at version 20.01 but are preparing to go to Studio5000 as part of the upgrade.
  3. Mitsubishi equipment

Not sure how many people are reading the "For sale" section in this forum, so I'm linking my recent post here. I hope it's OK for the moderators (and others). http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?/topic/32746-mitsubishi-equipment-for-sale-q-and-fx-series/

  5. Hi, I have the following configuration where 4 PLC panels, with each having a Q12PH CPU and QJ71E71-100 module. All these QJ71E71-100 are connected to a HUB using straight cable. From the HUB one connection is going to an I-Fix SCADA which is already communicating with all 4 PLCs using MC protocol. I want to send data from 3 of this PLCs to the 4th PLC in the same network using fixed buffer communication. Can anyone provide a sample program for the same. Send and Receive side. I am using GX Works 2 for programming. Your help is very much appreciated.
  6. Indirect addressing FX3U

Hi, I have a FX3U-16MR/DS with 485ADP-MB + 232-BD. The 232-BD is linked to a radio modem and the 485 to frequency drive. There is also an additional IO card attached. This is my first project with mitsubishi and with modbus RTU. I'm supposed to add a couple of data to be sent over the radio modem attached to 232-BD connection but I can't figure out what it is already sending. I think the write data is to a registed D2000 which is an array and then sen't over the radio modem. But I can't for the life of me figure out where in the program something is written to the register so I could find out how much free space there is in the Array and I wouldn't be over writing something. So I'm just guessing here and indirect addressing is used but I don't understand how it is done in mitsubishi? The program has been written with IEC developper and I'm only familiar with GX works2. Any examples or help would be much appreciated. Thanks
  7. Has anyone discovered a laptop that will connect to all mitsi PLC types (and Melfa Robots) via MELSOFT TCP connection. My Dell 5510 seems to have the most random dislike for this kit. at the moment it is happy to link to Q series but wont touch FX at the moment (this has not always been the case). I have checked all basics I know; 1. Pinging 2. Port setting to Melsoft 3.  Direct connection to FX3U-ENET avoiding the unmanaged switch (altering settings to suit). 4. Using FX Configurator to try and diagnose, checking the module settings in the project. 5. Disabling laptop wifi connections 6. Disabling firewall and AV. 7. Trying to setup a UDP connection (this seemed to work on Q series) Pffff..... Any thoughts?....I am obliged to use a site networked laptop so there maybe IT issues....however due to my ongoing frustration I will order a laptop and use offline like a wild man
  8. The title of this probably makes no sense, but I really wasn't sure what to call this thread. I'm working on a program for a Q Series, using ladder with labels.  This machine is going to have several status messages for the operator displayed on the HMI at the same time.  If I can figure this out my plan is to have a string display in the footer of a Proface HMI, with a "view next message" button.  Then I will write strings to the display giving the operator the status information and they will be able to press the next button to view the message- alternatively I could have a timer also that will auto refresh the display to the next message.     What I can't figure out, is how to queue the messages and have them wait for the button press or the timer to activate their MOV statement.  Essentially, I need to advance a register by one every time the "next" command is given- but if that status message is not active then I need to immediately skip to the next message.   I've thought about just incrementing a data register, but then how do I skip non-active messages?
  9. FX3U-485ADP-MB

Hi! I have some concern dealing with the FX3U-485ADP-MB device which will be plan to install and a total of 17 modbus devices(Chinese brand converter 4-20mA to RS485) where going to communicate. I'm new to this feature of FX3U family and I'm using GxWorks2. Is there anyone that can guide me through this device/development? Is there a program block for this like the one I have been use for analog modules(FX3U-4AD)? Looking forward to your help!   Thanks a lot! Marky

  19. Hello PLC guys. I need some advice for developing project. We have aim to rework mobile crushing complex. There are have 8 VFDs ABB acs 800 with CANopen Adapter Module RCAN-01. We plan to use mitsubishi fx3u plc. I haven't work before with CanOpen protocol. Is it passable to programming communication between Fx3u-can and ABB drives or easier way to buy modbus or profibus communication options for inverters? Before create topic, i have read RCAN-01 (3AFE64504231), fx3u-can (JY997D43301) manuals and sheet about canopen protocol. I have also downloaded:  1)Fx3u-can eds from mitsubishi. 2)RCAN eds from abb. 3)FX3CANopen_GW2_V120 libreary. But i didn't understand how using eds files for configurating network. As i know mitsubishi haven't special software for it like profibus dp configurator for gsd. PDO it is like PPO for profibus? I need just send to inverter CTW,Setpoint Ref and recieve from inverter STW,Feedback Ref, Current and alarm word. For modbus and profibus it is easy configurating via inverter's parameters. What types of PDO better use for this task and how it prepare? Need i use NMT,SDO,Hearbeat? Can someone give me example projects with canopen communication with any vfd in gid/gw2 or step by step explain what need to do?
  20. NB7W-TW00B Print Error 7300-FFFB

Good day lads, we encountered an error on a NByW-TW00B HMI, showing "Print Error 7300-FFFB". Checked already on the manual, which mentioned this : "Driver & UI Printer Settings Disable" (V106 manual, Section 7-9). What's worse is that NB manual doesn't give any workaround for any printer error. The NB is not connected to any printer. The "Enable Print" tickbox is unselected (checked both in the program and in the System Setup Screen). Also there is no button/macro which triggers any print function. Any of you have encountered this? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you
  21. CC-link no digital output

Hello, I have set up a new CC-link to add I/O to our existing factory PLC (Q03 series CPU). The CC-link system comprises of a master station (QJ61BT11N) and a remote device station (STlite STL-BT1) with several DI, DO and AD modules. Parameters are as per the STlite quick start guide example except no. of occupied stations is 3. In PLC Parameter I/O assignment the master station is a intelligent type and occupies 128 points from 0D00. Digital/analogue inputs are being read in the CPU and there are no error lights on either the master/remote stations. However digital output commands are not registered at the remote device station (LED lights on the module show which DO is active). Any help is greatly appreciated, I'm new to this and I've been hitting my head against a wall for a while on this one now. Cheers

  24. How can I do a hardware 'factory reset' on a Q UDE CPU .... NOT using any software such as GX Developer or Works? I understand in the 'Write to PLC' menu it's possbile to Clear / Format / Arrange PLC memory - this isn't what I'm asking for. Under normal circumstances we routinely reload the PLC code / parameters / intelligent function data all remotely from our offices to our customers facilities and all works well. With the newer Q UDE CPUs it is possible to scan the network and effectively do a remote bare-metal recover to a new CPU. If the Q UDE CPU became unresponsive I would like to know how to reset the CPU back to factory defaults. In this scenario we would be asking local site electricians to carry out this reset procedure - after which we would reload the code remotely from the office. Documentation says power down CPU remove BAT for > 10 mins. I’ve powered down, left in STOP state and removed BAT for 16hours - then tested this morning – IP / program perfect and online immediately without battery connected. This retention is a wonderful feature – but if I want to deliberately do a hardware factory reset how do I do it ?
