  1. Hello, I am having an issue with a PowerFlex 700S. This drive controls a travel motor for an overhead hoist. It is periodically not starting after stopping at a programmed point and sometimes stops while traveling to the next station. It does not give any faults or alarms. It is controlled remotely from a CompactLogix through a wireless router to an N-Tron unmanaged switch to the 20-COMM-E adapter. There are some limited manual controls, but the normal operation is a start, stop and speeds all sent from the controller. We have the DI6 set to enable and that does not seem to ever be lost. When this happens the only thing that I can find is the start inhibit parameter shows a bit 8 set high which is a start request present. I can see the PLC has already sent the start signal. I can put the machine in manual mode then cycle back to auto and the drive takes off. The only thing I can see changing while doing this is the start command is dropped and then sent again. I have changed the comm adapter as originally I had thought this was an issue with comms, but now I am skeptical as I have it set to fault and stop if a comms loss is detected. I am also able to connect to this drive and others on the same hoist through the wireless comms, so I feel better about the comms path. What causes this start inhibit bit 8 to become active? Does this seem to be a communication issue or a potentially a bad drive?
  2. Servo drive control power

Hi, I have a servo coil feeder. It has HMI, PLC, MR-JE-100A Servo drive, and motor.  Recently,  smoke came out of drive. One capacitor was almost split. 400 V, 680 uF. This is right after 3-P rectifier. I believe there was some sort of over voltage. I found the capacitor from China,  and installed. HMI and PLC are sending power and signals, but no sign of activity at the drive. DC bus is alive, but can't pass beyond relay after bridge rectifier. There is no power at control circuit either. No service manual. I ordered another same drive. Do I need to set anything on the drive, or HMI and PLC has all the necessary signal to drive the motor? NC+servo+Roll+Feeder+manual (2).pdf
  3. Can anyone tell me how to check fault history in Allen Bradley powerflex 40 drive?
  4. Hello Experts We have a machine with Mitsubishi Servo MR-JE-2008 With PLC Fx 5U & HMI GS2107 Yesterday we altered PLC by adding a row with input and timer & used this Input in next rung for weld start Although we did not  find any linkage but found "'Screen error Ok"' on HMI and after pressing Ok, HMI screen getting blank. We restored original PLC backup - PLC in Run Mode still ""Screen error Ok"" on HMI Via GT designer 3, we have loaded HMI backup, now HMI screen is OK and normal Getting Ab on Mitsubishi drive - we feel it is not an error but due to this we are unable to rotate motor although other functions like door open/close etc Ok In PLC, online mode, we are finding Servo in ON but unable to understand Ab on Drive and may be due to this, unable to rotate motor Please refer to attached HMI, PLC & Servo Backup Request advice HMI BACK UP.GTX PLC BACKUP.gx3 Flange Welding_Tag Line Servo Backup.mrc2
  5. Motion Control

Hi Everyone.   I have been tasked with changing out an older Flex Drive servo drive to a more modern Micro Flex drive in a machine that has an Omron CQM1H-CPU51 PLC.  I'm having a few issues but hope that i can gain some clarity around at least one of the hurdles Im facing from here. Biggest issue for me at this moment is My work hasn't yet purchased a programming lead for this PLC (or even the bits required to make one myself) but i have a feeling the control for the Servo is done via motion control in the PLC.  Question here is, if changing from one servo drive to another type, will the motion control code need to be updated to work with the new servo drive?  I have very limited experience with motion control itself at this stage so I'm a bit lost when it comes to these sort of details. Regards Kiwi_man82
  6. question about ABB ACS800 control

I am not a drive person (far from it...),  but I am working on a project using a number of ACS800 drives.  On one drive (only seeing this issue on one drive,  as far as I can determine) - when I specify a target speed and also specify maximum acceleration - there is a (significant) difference in terms of the accel time whether I have the drive set to internal speed control vs. external (encoder) control.  It takes almost exactly twice as long to get up to speed when set to external vs. internal.  (And problem with keeping it set to internal is that we lose accuracy at higher speeds,  and also at very low speeds...).  The most obvious issue would be a bad or improperly set encoder module,  but speed of motor is correct (as measured by tach) whether using internal or external.  Encoder module was also swapped for new one,  with no difference.   The only parameter that I am changing is speed by external encoder vs. internal  (I think that it is parameter 98.01).  Would anyone have any idea as to what could be causing this?   Thanks for any ideas!
  7. Hello all,    I have 3 kinetix 5500 drives connected in series but some how the 3rd drive lost power. all the fuses in the cabinet look good. nothing else is tripped either.    any advice is appreciated.  thank you
  8. Hello All, I'm a newbie to Omron programing  I have a program where I want to control a stepper motor with 1 plc output "pulse output0"  in my program I used PLS2 instruction but when I execute the instruction the motor won't rotate and the plc outputs are off, My wiring is fine, and my plc is CP1E-N40S1DR-A MY 1st output is pulse output 0 Q100.0 and also the driver wiring with the stepper motor is good ( I did a test with siemens plc the motor does work fine ) , what could be the problem? thanks, PLC OUPUT 0 SETTING
  9. Hello everyone    I am working on modbus TCP protocols to communicate between SEW drive and Omron PLC CP1L-EM. I am following modbus TCP function block from Omron, But i have updated that block because of is not fit to SEW modbus communication. Currently, I am sending a control work to SEW but I am getting error on Modbus TCP from SEW drive, which is invalid data. So I am looking your help is you work with SEW drive before and communicate over modbus, then please let me know how to make a data string for read and write (SEW Drive function 23). I am using 3PD data structure.    Thank you
  10. Dear forumers, It started on ISPsoft end nov. 2021. I have to program a MS300 drive. It is a very interesting software. And even if it is a bit rigid, in ladder for example, I begin to like it. I would need some help though, especially on the APIs properties. Indeed, the F1 help doesn't work well. Sometimes it doesn't open (can bypass), sometimes the APIs I’m looking for is not in it.  In the different pdf's I have gathered, the APIs, especially those concerning the MS300 variator, are not all explained. Does anyone have precise literature, official or personal, on these APIs?  It is difficult to program by having to guess/test. The doc. I currently have: Delta Standard Compact Drive MS300 Series User Manual (2 PDF : one with 688 pages, one with 510) 2 Quick guid, probably done by my seller (Word format) ISPSoft User Manueal (2 PDF : 2017/06/14 with 840 pages; 2021/03/29 with 1160 pages) A few DVP PLC PDF : DVP-28SS2; SA2; SS2… I also had trouble installing the last 2 versions of ISPsoft on a Windows 7 pro 64 bits PC. The V3-14-0 version refused to install, displaying an inability to write to a temporary folder. The V3-13 version (SW_20210420) just froze during installation. No info. I didn't look further (the client is coming netxt week), I stayed at 3.12.01 (beta) Has anyone ever had this? I will try insall V3-14 on a windows 10, and also try a monitored install on my one personal PC at home with w7 pro 64b. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help me. I have contacted DELTA support in Europe and am waiting for answers. As well as my seller, who has technical competence, has already used this software, but is far from having answered all my questions. Best regards, KsioP
  11. Hello, I wonder who can help me out here. I am new to the CX programmer. I want to communicate to selema drive through CX programmer. The drive is IPS plus Selema. The company was gone in 2017. There is no manuals regards to the drive. Here is the issue, in the program. The SPED block show port specifier is 10, the INI blcok show Port specifier is 0. Refer to the PLC picture, my first questions which one is port 10? I think port 0 is the left bottom cable from the second picture. So port 10 is the last module?  Second, Do anyone have manual or knowledge with the selema drive? Is there another one to communicate with the drive not using CX programmer?   thanks
  12. HELLO EVERYONE THERE IS THIS PROJECT WHERE I CHANGED THE OLD SERVO SETUP WITH NEW SERVO DRIVE MRJ4200A-RJ SERIES. OLD SERVO HAS A REVOLUTION OF 15 BITS BUT NEW SERVO HAS 22 BITS RESOLUTION. PROGRAMMING IS SAME BUT MY DISTANCE CALCULATION IS DIFFERENT NOW AND MACHINE DOES NOT GIVE CORRECT DISTANCE. PLEASE HELP ME
  13. I'm sure many of you are in the same boat with supply issues and elongating lead times with the Logix 5500 and 5700 servo drives. Are there any decent alternatives that are easily integrated into a 5380 controlled system, maybe with an AOI? I've looked at Beckoff and Parker systems, but Parker only seem to line CoDeSys as far as I can tell. Do any of you clever clogs have any suggestions for a well stocked alternative? As a side note, I'm not new to PLC programming, but I am only 6 months in to using motion and servo systems so be kind :)
  14. Hi,  Can someon help me with the following question. Like what makes a Kinetix 6000 drive a Guarded drive ? What type of safety stuff can you set to make it more safe.  Is it some parameter ? I am bit confused, by the manual. Should I active it in the PLC program or how ? Or it is some setting like a safe speed or torque.  I would really appreciate any help. Thank you so much ahead.  Have a great day, thanks for the reading.
  15. Good morning guys,  in your experience what is the best way to syncrhonize a motor controlled in speed with an inverter and a motor controlled in position with a servo drive? Let me explaine better what is my situation: I have a belt running normally at a certain constant speed. in some moments, I would like to syncrhonize the speed according to an axis controlled from a servo. the command of a servo specific position target and of course speed and acceleration e deceleration rate. I would like to adjust the belt speed in way to follow as accurately as possible the servo movement. Thanks a lot Andrea
  16. hello dear team, im trying to make a back up for some FR-E700 with the FR CONFIGURATOR SW3 but when i start the communication with the USB cable the software cant recognize any port by the way im using windows 10 in my laptop and when i check the devices administrator it doesnt shows in USB ports the drive info just in other devices and in details shows: "USB device was not migrated" does anyone know what can i do?
  17. Hi Everyone! I need some help with configuring an inverter. The inverter type is powerflex 70. How can I set the next parameters. It should be work with two speeds.  First:  around 40 Hz.  Second around 10 Hz.  I think first I need to decide the direction, So I need two digital input for forward and reverse. Then I need plus more digital input, one for the high speed and one for the low speed. I guess I have connect dc 24 V too. I just dont know where should I connect this signal. I didnt find the properly manual. Do I forget something ?  Can anybody help ?  Thanks in adnvance!
  18. Hi all. I have a Kinetix 350 and an AB TLY servo motor. I'm using the drive's STO function. AC power is supplied into the drive, passing through an "M1" contactor. It makes sense to m e to keep that contactor open, preventing AC power to the drive, until the drive is fully awake.  Is that what you guys do? Someone suggested to me in another forum ( http://www.plctalk.net/qanda/showthread.php?t=121021&highlight=drive+awake ) that there is no reason not to supply power to the drive right away because the STO function is inhibiting power to the motor anyway.
  19. In One of my machine we using one stepper drive thatCTA2H328M-MB model made by Centrust Motors China running without pulse input.Direction and  Enable input only connected. My problem is motor running in low speed since drive is 2.89 Amps and motor is 4.2 Amps so its not supporting.I want change drive capacity but i couldn't found a drive with same concept.I couldn't able to reach the chinese vendor.I have tried many drives which is in my stock all are enable input used for enable/Disable the drive.I am bit confuced. http://www.centrust-motor.com/?c=msg&id=2337 Kindly help what type of drive is this? Which model will suitable for my requirement?
  20. Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to communicate  via ethernet with a Parker drive IPA15-HC. I'm using a 5069-L306ER CompactLogix 5380, revision 30.011. There are add-on instructions that allow you to control the drive, but since they're really basic I'm trying to use message instructions to get more data out of it.  The knowledge base provides a zip named IPA_AOI_Rev4, that includes the add-on instructions and the program you should download to the drive to use them, this is the current file downloaded in the drive. Now, I've tried different msg configurations: CIP Data table read, CIP Data table write, CIP Generic copying the values in the examples and I always get the same:  Error Code: 16#0001 Extended Error Code: 16#0000_0125 That extended error code is nowhere to be found, not in the Logix designer online help and not in rockwell's knowledge base. Any idea?
  21. I'm sorry, guys, but I wouldn't be asking if I hadn't dedicated about 12 hours to this already. Long story short: ACS800 with RPBA-01 Profibus Adapter and RTAC-01 Pulse Encoder Interface. All we send to the drive (aside from CW permissives) is a position reference, and I believe the DriveAP functions execute how the drive will achieve that position. My final aim is to separate the encoder from going back to the drive, to instead going to a FM350-1 Counter module. I'm following someone elses work that is long gone, has been changed multiple times, and comments are almost non-existent. Where I'm stuck is understanding the data coming from the drive and being sent to it. PPO Type 5; DPV 0. In Step7, I have a DB for 20 bytes of data to drive and another DB for 20 bytes received from drive. I understand (with respect to data from drive) that it should be: SW; ACT; PZD3...PZD10 (10 x 2 byte Words). But, when I looked through all the settings in the group 51 parameters, the values in the form of (xxyy; index then subgroup; ex: 106 is parameter 1.06) don't seem to exist in the ACS800 Firmware manual. PZD 3 OUT: 7 --- PZD3 IN: 6 PZD 4 OUT: 8 --- PZD4 IN: 10 PZD 5 OUT: 0 --- PZD5 IN: 106 PZD 6 OUT: 0 --- PZD6 IN: 0 PZD 7 OUT: 0 --- PZD7 IN: 611 PZD 8 OUT: 0 --- PZD8 IN: 612 PZD 9 OUT: 0 --- PZD9 IN: 701 PZD 10 OUT: 0 --- PZD 10 IN: 706 The manual says parameter values 1-99 refer to a "Data Set" and each number specifies a certain word in a Data Set. For example, PZD3 IN: 6 refers to Data Set 2 Word 3, which is defined by paramater 92.03. But, that turns up something about short circuit protection, when what my DB value is displaying a distance (from a linear string pot encoder) that matches what the mill is actually at. The ACS800 manual says Data Set Actual Signal words are defined in Group 92. So I looked there: 92: DS Transmit (From Drive) --- 90: DS Receive (From PLC) 92.01: Status Word (Fixed) --- 90.01: 4501 92.02: 103 --- 90.02: 4309 92.03: 402 --- 90.03: 4505 92.04: 412 --- 90.04: 1 92.05:106 --- 90.05: 3 92.06: 0 Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
  22. My subcontractor use ABB ACS580 instead of ACS880. They argue that can program to control crane with it. Load capacity and motor power is no problem here, but the purpose of inverter I concern here. Is there any advice?
  23. I have 200W - 200VAC : Omron R88D-1SN02H ECT Servodrive and Omron R88M-1M20030T BS2 Servomotor I wish to make myself the connection between Drive and Motor , with self made cables. Connectors ( JAE ) - Japan Aviation Electronics JN6FR02SM1 - 2 pins - brake cable in motor side JN6FR07SM1 - 7 pins - encoder cable in motor side JN6FS05SJ2 - 5 pins - power cable in motor side Molex 55100-0670 - 6 pins - encoder cable connector in drive side - ( IEEE 1394 - Firewire 400 ) https://assets.omron.eu/downloads/manual/en/i823_1s-series_setup_manual_en.pdf http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media/569007O/3mtm-i-o-interconnect-system-2-0-mm-for-ieee-1394-ts2296.pdf http://www.jae.com/z-en/pdf/MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf https://industrial.omron.mx/es/media/I586-E1-02_1S-Series_EtherCAT_UsersManual_tcm851-112757.pdf ======================================== How can i know which it's pin #1 from each socket from Drive and Servomotor ? Atention !!! I'm not talking about pin numerotation from connectors which i connect to drive or motor . I wish to know the pin #1 from Drive CN2 socket and from Motor sockets ( power , brake and encoder ) http://www.jae.com/z-en/pdf/MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf In MB-0161-1E_JN6.pdf you can see the numerotation of pins from "Receptacle" . That means , the "Receptacle" it's that part what is in Omron Servomotor ? Or it's the part of JAE connectors , which it's inside of connector housing ? The question is , how can i be sure i don't make a mistake, and i know the right numerotation of Encoder socket of Omron Drive : CN2 and the right numerotation of Omron Servomotor ( brake , power and encoder cable ) I've found schematics about how to connect the Drive with Motor with power , brake and encoder cables , but i didn't find a pin numerotation of sockets ( drive side CN2 encoder socket and power , brake and encoder from motor side ) I didn't find nowhere the right numerotation of pins from CN2 socket of Drive and from Servomotor sockets ( i find it something from above JN6 series connectors from JAE connectors ) I wish to know where can i find the numerotation of pins from Omron R88D-1SN02H ECT Servodrive and Omron R88M-1M20030T BS2 Servomotor Specially , the Encoder cable numerotation from Drive side and Motor side . I've noticed in attached picture the numerotation from Drive , CN2 encoder socket ( IEEE 1394 - Firewire 400 ) . That's correct ? It's right numerotation ?
