  1. I am in desperation.....I had a Recipe setup made for my NA-Series HMI using Sysmac Studio.  It WAS working until I decided I wanted the name of the Recipe to be something different.  After I compiled the HMI, I got several errors referring to the new name of the Recipe file.  I remembered that there was some background code that had the old name in it so I went there and changed all the statements to the new name....still no luck. I changed the Recipe name back and changed all the background code statements back to the old name....and I still get the faults.... What have I done and how do I fix it?  I am desperate to fix it as I have customers on Wednesday morning :? Thanks,

  4. In CX-Programmer software, we have the ability to make a bunch of copies of the same rung with the "Address Incrememntial Copy" Function. Does Sysmac Studio have a similar function?
  5. Still learning Sysmac Studio......how do I gain access to System Variables like 'PageIndex" so my PLC can be notified what Page the HMI is on?  Also, how can I execute an 'Acknowledge All' from the PLC so I can reset the 'Alarm Viewer Popup' from my PLC? Thanks,
  6. A simple request for an Omron novice.  I know Timer values in Sysmac Studio are classified as TIME variables.  How can I modify the Preset of a TON block from my NA HMI since the TON Preset is of a TIME data type? Thanks,
  7. PWM

Hi  In CX-programmer there is a PWM(891) function. Is there a similar same function block in sysmac studio ?
  8. Hi, I'll apologise for asking noob questions before I start - please don't shoot, but searching for existing answers on this is very difficult for me as I'm not confident in what search terms to use to get some appropriate results! And I'm afraid there are several aspects to my question too. I'm a software developer tasked with extending an existing EtherNet/IP driver. The driver already has the ability to identify atomic data in a range of AB controller models (by specifying a file type, file number, element and sub-element). The driver can then issue the appropriate commands (at the different link layers) to read the values of that atomic data, and write new values back. I have some test hardware:  (1) Control Logix 1756-ENBT (2) SLC 500 1747-L551 (3) MicroLogix 1400 1766-L32BWA (4) CompactLogix 5370 1769-L30ER I need to access these units remotely over a VPN. I've been able to change the subnet & gateway of (2) and (3) so that I can now see them over my VPN but have yet to work out how to do this for (I) and (4). None of the controllers are set for BOOTP but, to be honest, I'm less concerned about an answer for this than I am about other stuff that follows in a while! I also have a valid licensed dongle which allows me to load RSLinx, RsLogix 500 and Studio 5000 software - for some reason, the RSLogix 500 hasn't activated and I only have a day's grace period left but, here again, I hope to find a resolution to that outside of this forum. So, to the nitty-gritty.... I'm a confident, mature developer but I have absolutely no experience with PLCs and their terminology - and I admit I haven't been on any training courses. It will take me long enough to figure out protocol/command formats without the added burden of understanding the PLC programming processes, different pieces of Rockwell applications software and their associated plethora of documentation. In short, my task is to extend our driver to read and write non-atomic data types, i.e. structures and arrays. As a general concept, naturally, I know what a structure and an array are, but not specifically in terms of my test hardware's existing data files. I'm assuming that my easiest approach is to create a couple of simple structures and arrays in the existing test hardware using the Rockwell apps, at which I point I then have an odds-on chance of working out the command packets to put in my driver to read them. I believe that, to read non-atomic data structures and arrays like these, I need to use tags to address the data - if I've understood that correctly. Later on, I could then look at how I put together command packets to write to those structures and arrays, but I want to walk before I run. At present, I have fumbled my way through setting up a driver in RSLinx to access test hardware items (2) and (3). I can even run up a data monitor for both controllers, and can see various atomic data such as integers, booleans, etc. However, I'm guessing RSLinx doesn't let me set up structures and arrays. I assume that is done through either RSLogix500 or Studio 5000 -- but I have absolutely no idea how to do it or what I'm looking for. And the other aspect that's confusing me is that these two pieces of software are limited in the controller models for which I can start a new project. If someone could just give me some idiotproof pointers to step me through this, it would be fantastic. Thanks in anticipation.
  9. I am trying to use the "Scroll_composition_all" IAG that I found browsing the Omron Software section...…  What am  supposed to put in "AlarmObjName" in Properies of my NA5 (using Sysmac Studio)?? I figured it was just a set of buttons that would control the selection bar on my Alarms Display.... Thanks,
  10. Has anyone had experience with EtherCAT Communications using Sysmac, NJ5 PLC & Yaskawa SI-ES3 EtherCAT Comms board for A1000 VFD?  I have looked at the manual, but as I am still green on Sysmac & Omron programming in general.....not sure I understand what to do to simple Drive Status monitoring, Execute RUN/STOP & Speed Select... Thanks in advance :)
  11. Sysmac NA5-Series HMI

Compiled my HMI file I am currently building in Sysmac Studio for my NA5-Series display.  Not finished, but I executed a Build and this is what I got....I have absolutely no idea what it means...... Thanks,
  12. Is there any instruction in Sysmac Studio Structure text to detect rising Edge (DIFU/DIFD) ?
  13. Task Priority 16

I have made a fat bloated program that runs too slow. I tried working under the philosophy that "Premature Optimization" is the biggest time waste in developing programs. Now my program takes to long to run and throws a task error. I am attempt to cut the primary task's cycle time down I tried to move programs that use IO to other tasks. Task 16 is supposed to be able  to handle IO but it doesn't come up as a selection choice of priorities for me. I can do 17 but I get errors trying to use IO variables at that priority level. NX102-1200 controller, Sysmac Studio 1.30.1. Should I be able make a task at priority 16? I have some analog IO that I don't need to update every millisecond and I have some data and loop intensive FB's that only need to run once hour and I'd like to get them off my primary task's to-do list. I'll be busy re-writing my program FB's to accept specific variables instead of bloated structured variables and converting and changing Lreal's to real's and some other Premature Optimization tasks so I can run the sucker.
  14. I am using Studio 5000 View Designer v4.3 to create an HMI on Panel View.  I'm having a weird issue where every time I open up my project, the windows are displaying only in the lower right hand corner.  This wasn't happening earlier.  Undocking the window, expanding the window, uninstalling and re-installing View Designer have not helped.  Trying to open View Designer as an administrator has not helped either.  I know there are better HMI platforms, but I am basically complete with the construction of this HMI using Studio 5000 View Designer and now it is too late.  I just want to add a few more buttons and I can't do it because I can't see the bottom of any of my windows.  Since Studio 5000 View Designer is based in Visual Studio, maybe someone would know how I can fix this via Windows registry files?
  15. I am new to Omron Programming, Sysmac Studio NJ processor & NA hmi.  I am used to being able to create diagnostic PLC logic using BIT addressing from a DINT variable for setting diagnostic signals for an HMI.  I can also use the DINT to do a quick check to see if it is greater than 0, therefore signaling I have a Machine Fault.  I cannot seem to figure out a way to get those BITS setup in the User Alarms of the NA programming.  I have found where you can setup a Datatype/Union to be able to use the DINT scenario and Bit level in PLC programming....but that doesn't help on the HMI side. Any thoughts??
  16. NJ Modbus

I need to write c# with modbus TCP to read NJ,  Anyone able to to use PC communicate with NJ by using Modbus TCP?  Any Function need to be added in the PLC, for Example , PC to read Register 40000 to 40020 ?
  17. hi dears, I have one CS1D omron Redundant controller ( CP65H) that must be connected to NS15 Touch panel. I want to use Ethernet for connecting HMI and CPUs (CS1D-ETN21D). I have one question. for NS15 we can use CX designer and sysmac studio? is it true? which one is better? what is your recommendation for HMI software? Thanks.
  18. How do I edit an array size ARRAY[0..13] OF REAL to ARRAY[0..15] OF REAL? Sysmac Studio doesn't allow it to be done online, as far as I can see. If I do it offline and then go online and Synchronise, Transfer to Controller I receive error Any ideas?
  19. Trying to connect our old Sysmac C200HE PLC to the CX-Programmer software however, failed connection appears. We are using a USB-Serial connection and have set up the comms on the device manager. To try and connect to the PLC we are using the Auto connect function, selecting the usb-serial connection and selecting the comms the same as the host network. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  20. Hey guys I have searched the forum, but can not find the answer I am looking for. I have an Omron Nx102-9000 along with an NA5 (9 ") that I use to control an industrial furnace. I need to set an output one at a given time (date and time)  A time that should be able to specified from day to day via the HMI Is there anyone who can help me? Then I would really appreciate it
  21. Good morning, I am working with sysmac studio v1.25 controller NX1P2 and HMI NA5. I have been trying to link and modify members of an structure in HMI without success and I don't know if i'm missing some syntax or if it is even possible what I am trying to do. 1. In the PLC I have the struct "Formato" and global variable "Formatos" which is an array of Formato. 2. I have mapped this variable to the NA5 so I can use the same data type. 3. I am trying to give a value to the members of my struct with a recipe of the HMI. I am trying with different syntax, with AT connection, without AT connection and none is working for me.   Is it possible what I am trying to do?   Thanks very much in advance,
  22. Hello everyone, I have a problem with packing machine. There are some issues with one of the axis, when axis actual position is near to 1800000 some error appear and operator has to turn off machine on main contactor. This axis is working in Linear mode. I think that rotary mode would be better for this axis. And here is my question. Which instructions, and what options i should change/check when i change count mode in axis's options. Can any1 point me some manuals to read or give me some advice ? Thank you in advance.
  23. Hi, I can’t find an answer to the following and I was advised to ask it here.I’m programming an Omron CJ2M with an MD212 high speed I/O card. I usually do all my programming in Structured text, simply because I like it a lot over ladder or sft. Now, if I want to read the hight speed counter (incremental encoder), I have to make a ladder section and use the PRV instruction to store the present value in a chosen location. The manual says the current PV is stored in A271, but I can’t get a readout there. Apparently the only way to read it is through this instruction.Does anyone know if there is an equivalent to the PRV instruction for Structured text? or another way perhaps? Again, when I check the actual memory adress, there’s no value there withouth the use of the PRV instr.
  24. I need to import/export all recipe templates to/from a single csv. file Anyone with a Solution for this? Thank you
  25. Q03UDVCPU

I am new with PLC's and I am learning how to work with GX Works 2. I have two questions, 1st Question: Using a Q series PLC (Q03UDVCPU) Is it possible to convert the language of a project from ladder logic to structured text? 2nd Question: If I read a project from a PLC why is it always ladder logic? Is there any way to read out structured text?
