  1.   Replacing dead powerflex 700 with 753 talking via ethernet. Any good instructions on how to update the file from 700 to 753 on rslogix 5000?
  2. Hi guys. I have a question, with HMI pages. I have to make 20 pages 3 times. Its kind of like layer in layer. At the and of the layers always there are only 2 choices. But ofc course its important the route like what the choose, and what is the order. Like we have to detect lets say first layer page2 second layer page13 third layer is page5 and then we choose the first choice. But if the order is different we have to get a different input from the choice1, like we need different address. I could do that if I make ton of pages, but its sounds crazy. A lot of permutation. (20*20*20*2) I attached a picture maybe its easier to understand if Im not explained well. I am using AB control logix PLC, with logix 5000 software. Do have someone a good and quicker idea, to solve this problem.  Thanks ahead. Any idea is highly appriciated.
  3. Hi guys,  I have been thinking about wether can increase the numbers of produced and consumed tags, between my plc-s. Currently I have two plc it already have produced and consumed tags, but unfortunatelly soon we are running out of free tags. I read the manual and it said I can make 125 dint tags, currently we have only an array with 10 element.  If I make a new one and I kinda copy it, with different names, will it be work ?  Or do I have to set something else ?  Can I ruin the communication with the two plcs ?  THanks ahead.
  4. Hello guys! I'm interesting about rfid communication. I currently using control logix and compact logix plcs, and rslogix 5000 software. I'm wondering if someone can help me with a sample project, or any documentation. Its also can be wonderful if someone can share a project with panelview if its possible. I wanna know about reading and also writing. What type of device do you guys using ? I would like to make a simple program what is contain reading and writing. Thank you ahead any help of yours.
  5. Hi all,I'm completely new to ASCII and trying to figure out where I'm going wrong here.Application: I need to send 2d barcode data to a KGK Jet model CCS3000L Inkjet printer. Only protocol possibility is ASCII. PLC I have is a Micro850, and the only port option for ASCII is the serial port. I modified one end of a 2707-NC11 cable to connect PLC TxD to printer RxD, PLC RxD to Printer TxD, and PLC SG to Printer SG. I jumpered CTS and RTS at the printer connector, and the 2707 cable I'm using doesn't have wires on the Micro850 CTS or RTS pins.Printer company verified that I can just jumper RTS and CTS on their side and not connect their DTR and DSR pins (since I'm not using hardware handshaking). I don't really need any flow control for the application ( I don't think...again, ASCII noob here).Do the CTS and RTS on the PLC side need to be jumpered? Does the DCD pin need to be jumpered or connected to something if I'm not using handshaking?I downloaded the Micro800 ASCII read and write functions and function blocks from Rockwell library, and they seem to be working, except that I keep getting ABL error id "7". This error states, "Cannot complete ASCII send or receive because channel configuration has been shut down using the channel configuration dialog box." I have the serial port enabled and configured to ASCII, no handshaking, baud 9600 same as printer, no parity check, 1 stop bit, character length of 8.Any help in pointing out what I'm doing wrong or things to try would be greatly appreciated!   ASCII_TEST.ccwsln
  6. Motion Control

Hi Everyone.   I have been tasked with changing out an older Flex Drive servo drive to a more modern Micro Flex drive in a machine that has an Omron CQM1H-CPU51 PLC.  I'm having a few issues but hope that i can gain some clarity around at least one of the hurdles Im facing from here. Biggest issue for me at this moment is My work hasn't yet purchased a programming lead for this PLC (or even the bits required to make one myself) but i have a feeling the control for the Servo is done via motion control in the PLC.  Question here is, if changing from one servo drive to another type, will the motion control code need to be updated to work with the new servo drive?  I have very limited experience with motion control itself at this stage so I'm a bit lost when it comes to these sort of details. Regards Kiwi_man82
  7. PLC is old one, but I need to add one feature, Signal can be very short and when I get it I want to stop auto mode. I am afraid that signal can be so short and skipped by normal input. How I can set input as an interrupt input. I read that PLC has events processing and it can be triggered by " inputs 0 - 3 of position 1 module, on rising or falling edge"  - in first slot I have card TSX DMZ 64DTK. ( 32 inputs and 32 outputs) is it true ? -  and how I associate it. Maybe I create new Events and as an input I use f.e %I1.0  or I configure it somewhere?   thanks for help
  8. controller is not coming online with rslogix 5000, but i can ping the ip from the pc. getting the error message says "controller failed to come online - error 701-8004250B" appreciate ur help.
  9. hello, I want to ask, maybe some of you know about this, I want to take a program on compactlogix but it has a firmware version 19.xx while the rslogix application I have is version 21.xx, there are several options offered by the application to be able to take the program, update the firmware in compactlogix or downgrade the rslogixku application to version 19.xx. if i upgrade the firmware in compactlogix, what about the program is the program safe or not, and if i upgrade the firmware will the program in compactlogix work properly?

COMMAND LOGIX is a command line tool that works with Logix Services to automate various functions in Logix using a CLX file as setup. The functions include Upload, Download, Partial Imports, Mode Change, etc. The tool comes with an editor to create the setup file. This tool is really useful if you have multiple tools to update or if you have a couple updates to make and you don't want to wait for RSLogix to load. https://www.commandlogix.io/

  12. I have 23 Micrologix 1400s and I want to take the same register, N100:99, out of each one and put in a single array in a CompactLogix L18ER. From what I have tried, it only seems like I can only map a range of integers, N100:77-N100:100, to the array and not an individual register to a particular element. (For example, mapping N100:99 from machine 16 to Selected_Model[15]) Can you map to individual elements in an array? If so, are there any instructions on how to do so? Thank you in advance for reading my post!
  13. Hi! I'm using RSLinx Classic, RSLogix Micro English and RSLogix Emulate 500 to emulate a Micrologix 1100 Series B. I'm able to run, program and simulate different input and output with the emulated PLC. Everything works fine. My problem is that I'm writing a program using the nodePCCC library (https://github.com/plcpeople/nodepccc) and I'm not able to connect to the emulated PLC using the address 127.0.0.1 and the port 44818. I tried  running 'netstat -a' on Power Shell and I found out that the port 44818 is not being used.  Could someone help me identify what I'm doing wrong?
  14. Hello guys!  Im using RS Logix 5000.  Can someone explain me what is the difference between when a servo is shutdown or disabled ?  I read the help but it says the same. I can assume it like when its shutdown, there is inside some circuit which is not allow the 3 phase for the drive.  Disabled is that when it have the 3 phase but nothing can happen ? Is there any difference with the break ? Like when its shutdown it can rotate until its slow down by itself or the break will be active ?  I tried to uplod a pic but it was not succesful. When you open a servo axis properties and you choose the Fault actions tab. You can find there these settings.    Thanks a lot.
  15. Hello Guys! I have couple of questions about tuning an ab servo motor. -Actually what does the drive or plc doing when I launch a servo auto tuning?  - What are the little boxes like position error integrator ? There are checkmarks in fornt of the lines. Can I choose the methode or something? I mean its not "auto" ? Why it is auto then ? - Can someone send me some basic literature where they explain me what these stuff acutally meaning ?  - What is the hook up test what for is good ?  -When you are doing a servo auto tune what are the parameters that you are monitoring and why ?  -I should do the auto without or with load ? Whats the difference ? I know there are so many question I would be so grateful if someone could help me with these answears, or even just with one. Thanks again.
  16. Hello! I am using the Plant PAX AOI L_CPU_24_Up and am having zero luck finding out both independently and from tech support what the 16 bits of the Ref_Out.Identity.Status are. The description says Tag to receive CPU data, device status (bitmapped, see documentation).  I have a techconnect contract, but cant find the correct documentation where this information lives.  Could someone please send me a link or just give me the number of the publication.  I attached a screen shot of tag info I am looking for. Thank you!!!!
  17. Hello all, I am working on a project where I am communicating with a Mensor CPT6100 pressure transducer using a Micro-850 PLC. For this, I have used an AWA instruction to write some ASCII characters to the sensor. The sensor then responds to the write instruction by sending ASCII characters to the RX buffer and I used ACB and ARD instructions to read the ASCII characters. Now, I have set the ACB trigger type to 0 (msg triggered only once) and it successfully reads from the sensor. However, when I set the ACB trigger type to 1 (msg triggered multiple times), I do not get any reading in the ARD block. As a matter of fact, the ACB Q bit switches off every time the program is executed when the trigger type is set to 1. I am trying to get continuous readings from the sensor, but when the trigger type is set to 0, the program latches on to the first and only reading and it won't change. My question is, how can I change my program so that it can continuously and autonomously read from the sensor without me having to manually trigger the AWA and ACB instructions every time. I am attaching the program to this thread for your reference.  ASCII_Test_Copy.ccwarc
  18. Hello Folks... The pictures show it all... I just need to produce a one-shot inside the IF...THEN, and the Oneshot's input bit goes from 0 to 1 as you see from the trend, but the output bit is not going to 1, or giving a pulse ? can anyone help me understand why i am not getting a pulse in this code ? And is there another easy way to get pulse inside IF...THEN without changing the condition which activates the if loop ? Thanks in advance for your time
  19. I have a Base tag of BOOL logic that will not activate the MOV output.  The Base tag is paralleled with an Alias tag for a NO pushbutton.  When the pushbutton is actuated it produces the desired output.  Has anyone encountered this issue from a togglebit base tag before?  Why would a base tag produce a different outcome from that of an alias tag that function properly?
  20. Can anyone explain to me what this would mean in a COP instruction? Source: #N[N187:4]:[N187:5] Dest: #N[N187:1]:0 Length: 20 I am doing a PLC5 conversion to rslogix5000 and some (most) of it has been a nightmare -.-
  21. I have a counter tracking the number of cases packed through a robot program and an option to count less than a case (pack now). In order to update the correct number, I'm using math (ADD) to increment the counter by one.  I used that in conjunction with a MOV instruction to increment up the counter by one.  However, when I energize the button, my accumulated value goes up by +220 or so. Any way to fix this?

  23. Can I download an old program (written with RS Logix 500 version 5.2) into a newer SLC 5/04 Series C with a higher FRN than my copy of RS Logix supports? I don't want to use any newer functionality. Just wanting to get a spare 5/04 and load the application software on so it is ready to swap out in the event of a failure. I see some 5/04's on eBay that are new in box but have a FRN of 11 which wasn't out at the time my version of RSLogix was created.
  24. Hello - we run a car wash that is controlled by a Modicon TSX Micro 3721001. It is indicating a CPU fault. I've attached a picture of the unit in place, with the LEDs lit. I have ordered a new base unit (2nd picture). I haven't tried it out yet, but it is tested working. I am hoping a base unit replacement will solve the problem, but wondering if it it possible the problem could be in the modules? I did not order those but now wondering if I should have... If the issue could be with the modules, is there a way to test which one it would be so I won't need to order all 4? If it coult be a module, I might order that now as I am in a rush to get back in service. Thanks for any guidance! Andy
  25. We have a carwash automatic controller board with an Eagle Signal Micro 190 PLC.  The program has been reloaded after power outages from a MX207l1 EEPROM Memory Transport Module for over 20 years.  Suddenly the reload isn't working -- either the MTM lost it's program or the socket has worn out over the years.  Anyway, the program can also be loaded via a 9-pin serial cable from a PC.  In trying that, we've found that the program the vendor gave us on the PC doesn't match that on the MTM.  Testing shows that only one output is incorrect.  We simply need to change output on O22 (broken trace on the board 20 years ago) to O20 (which would then match the MTM code).  I am a software engineer, but have never used ladder logic in a PLC.  I *think* I have changed the output, but maybe I just changed a comment.  [Testing requires powering off the carwash, with loss of $$ if we can't get it back up, and $80K expense for total failure, so trial-n-error isn't feasible.]  (1) Can anyone discuss what I did with me so I have a better idea if it will work or not?  (2) Is there anyone in the Atlanta area willing to look at this?  Thanks for reading!
