  1. Hi there,  I'm downscaling my business in Western Canada and have some legit software licenses I'm going to sell.   2. Hello, everyone! I am following this YouTube tutorial where it teaches you how to add a block of Modbus server within Studio 5000 for communication with plc ControlLogix. The video: https://youtu.be/qcF4m7rPjkw However, according to a comment from the author of the video himself in my comment I can make such a connection through a Modbus device. How do I do this within ur5 and how can i access UR5 inside Studio 5000?
  3. Hi guys. I have a question, with HMI pages. I have to make 20 pages 3 times. Its kind of like layer in layer. At the and of the layers always there are only 2 choices. But ofc course its important the route like what the choose, and what is the order. Like we have to detect lets say first layer page2 second layer page13 third layer is page5 and then we choose the first choice. But if the order is different we have to get a different input from the choice1, like we need different address. I could do that if I make ton of pages, but its sounds crazy. A lot of permutation. (20*20*20*2) I attached a picture maybe its easier to understand if Im not explained well. I am using AB control logix PLC, with logix 5000 software. Do have someone a good and quicker idea, to solve this problem.  Thanks ahead. Any idea is highly appriciated.    
  4. Been seeing a high failure rate on these PLC's on 2 of our processes. The control power is feed through a APC UPS to a 24VDC power supply to power the unit. Getting a hard fault where the OK LED comes on red and stays red. It never sequences through all the LED on power up. Tried the hard boot by holding in the reset button and applying power. Has anyone on else seen a high failure rate on this model PLC? TIA..
  5. Hi guys,  I have been thinking about wether can increase the numbers of produced and consumed tags, between my plc-s. Currently I have two plc it already have produced and consumed tags, but unfortunatelly soon we are running out of free tags. I read the manual and it said I can make 125 dint tags, currently we have only an array with 10 element.  If I make a new one and I kinda copy it, with different names, will it be work ?  Or do I have to set something else ?  Can I ruin the communication with the two plcs ?  THanks ahead.
  6. Hi and thanks for youre time  I am a newbie trying to connect to a 1769-L30ERMS using an Ethernet cable. I am using Studio 5000 and RSLinx Classic lite for programming and communication. However Studio 5000 and RSLinx Classic lite are installed on av virtual machine using VMware.  So my problem is two fold. Connect the VM so that it reads from the real computers ethernet port Find and communicate with the PLC from the VM There are guides on how these problems are addressed seperatly. For example https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JdArYVceO1I and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERLTvcBBK_w however I have not been able to get them to work together. So I was wondering if you, the sages of PLC programming might have some tips or trix that I could test or perhaps even a guide for how to do? Mvh Eric
  7. Hello guys! I'm interesting about rfid communication. I currently using control logix and compact logix plcs, and rslogix 5000 software. I'm wondering if someone can help me with a sample project, or any documentation. Its also can be wonderful if someone can share a project with panelview if its possible. I wanna know about reading and also writing. What type of device do you guys using ? I would like to make a simple program what is contain reading and writing. Thank you ahead any help of yours.     
  8. Motion Control

    Hi Everyone.   I have been tasked with changing out an older Flex Drive servo drive to a more modern Micro Flex drive in a machine that has an Omron CQM1H-CPU51 PLC.  I'm having a few issues but hope that i can gain some clarity around at least one of the hurdles Im facing from here. Biggest issue for me at this moment is My work hasn't yet purchased a programming lead for this PLC (or even the bits required to make one myself) but i have a feeling the control for the Servo is done via motion control in the PLC.  Question here is, if changing from one servo drive to another type, will the motion control code need to be updated to work with the new servo drive?  I have very limited experience with motion control itself at this stage so I'm a bit lost when it comes to these sort of details.   9. controller is not coming online with rslogix 5000, but i can ping the ip from the pc. getting the error message says "controller failed to come online - error 701-8004250B" appreciate ur help.

Can someone please suggest a Control Panel Builder that is located in Germany?   I work for a company in Australia and due to Covid 19, we are struggling to meet an onsite date for a project in Germany.   This project uses Siemens PLC gear, Danfoss drives, and mostly Schneider electrical gear. The enclosures are custom and stainless steal.    I have electrical schematics and enclosure drawings for quoting.
  11. Hi, I need help finding the length of a string.  I am using an In-sight 9000 series camera with a compact logix 5380 and communicating over ethernet. Unfortunately, the string length is not provided in the AOP, and the barcode length will constantly change. I told to use the FSC instruction, but I cannot get it to work. Thanks 
  12. Hello all,  There are two pressure gauges in a line with a flow of water. The flow is controlled by the pumps which is controlled by the PID whose control variable is pressure gague -2 . In ideal condition the pressure gauge -2 remains at 55 psi and pressure gauge -1 stays at 82 PSI. But in the line if someone opens a manual valve then pressure gauge - 1 reads 100 psi because the pump is running as per pressure gauge 2 . Is is possible to clamp the PID so that pressure gauge 1 remains at 82 psi.    FYI: Pressure gauge 1 is right after the pumps and pressure gauge 2 is at the end of the line. 
  13. I have a old  PannelView 550 that have lost the screen so i would like to hear if there is any possibilety to get it  working using a PannelView 800 7" and logix 5555. I only have serial rs 232 in the plc.   Thank you in advance. Peter Jensen

    Hey all. Wondering if anyone has an example program they'd be willing to share? Specifically I'm using the 1734-VHSC5/C with a 1769-L18ER-BB1B PLC. All of Rockwell's wonderful information only refers to SLC-500 platform. I'm not trying to do anything terribly fancy, just have a quadrature encoder attached to Channels A & B, then using an output to turn on a valve at 8.0" and turn off at 10.0" Any help would be appreciated.
  19. ello I have a powerflex 400 of 25HP for a 60amp 25HP motor, the motor have a belt that move the clarifier of milk. It is a process that requires strength to move.So I try with the motor without the clarifier the vdf works well with a constant amp of 12 to the max of 50hz that is set up with a ramp of 600 sec.Then I try with the belt that move the clarifier... The vdf start the ramp with a wird amp behavior like 10 sec 100 amp and then 13 amp for 10 sec.When it gets to 50hz (the max) it starts the same behavior 13 amp when it reach the max RPM and when it decrease a little bit it gets 100 amp to get to the max RPM again.In this vdf powerflex 400 I didn't see the % of torque options that the last one Fuji had.Someone told me that powerflex 400 is not for power processed, they are focus in pumps and blowers more alike, and that I need a vdf vectorial like a powerflex 725.What do you think...PD: as the 100 amp is like 10 sec the protections dont show up. PD: I made a try with water and hot water, in that point with the max hz  (and 6800rpm) when the hot water start to flow the amp gets constant in 75 amp, but the motor dosnt get to the 6800 rpm again it just keep trying in 6700rpm and it mantains the 75amp triggering the motor protection for overload.
  20. I have 23 Micrologix 1400s and I want to take the same register, N100:99, out of each one and put in a single array in a CompactLogix L18ER. From what I have tried, it only seems like I can only map a range of integers, N100:77-N100:100, to the array and not an individual register to a particular element. (For example, mapping N100:99 from machine 16 to Selected_Model[15]) Can you map to individual elements in an array? If so, are there any instructions on how to do so? Thank you in advance for reading my post!

  23. Hi everyone, To explain the problem a little bit: I have 2 systems that are equal, they have 1 PLC, 1 Inverter and 1 Servo Axis (Image01). The devices are connected via EtherCat. The thing here is tht in these systems the PLC and Servo Axis is the same but the inverter is different. My goal is to have the same project on both systems and depending on the inverter detected use the correct program. What worked: If I add the 2 Inverters and 2 Servo Axis on the project on different nodes (Image02), I can detect which is present using the variable _EC_EntrySlavTb[n]. My issue is that if I want to make more replicas of the systems using different inverters I will eventually hit the Axis Number limit for the PLC while in reality I am only using on Servo Axis at a time. What I wanted: I would like to be able to control 1 Servo Axis with 2 different inverters (only one active per PLC) (Image03). What I tried: The axis parameters can be set using a variable of the type _sAXIS_PARAM, however it seems that the option to change the axis basic settings is not available (Manual: NJ/NX-series Motion Control Instructions Reference Manual (W508) page 5-58) (Image04). The axis basic settings is where the definition of the output device plus control words are set (Image05). Is there a work around to solve this issue? I would really like to avoid having to manually change the output device for the Servo Axis every time I make an update on all the systems.   Best Regards, BR  
  24. I am looking help with an issue I have trying to connect to a 5370 Controller 1769-L33ER. The controller firmware is 20.014 and my studio does not have 20.014 firmware. I have downloaded the firmware and do not know how to get it extracted to my PC. Any help with this will be grateful.  Regards
