Disqualified Redundancy Partner IO Issue?

I am investigating a failure that occurred... We have a L62 Processor with RIO and Redundancy, it was reported that a system "failed to stop" this system is started and stopped via outputs channels on an OW16I card on one of the RIO racks. Has anyone had experience an issue with IO not responding as it should if the redundant partner is disqualified? Also, there was a know network issue and the main Ethernet card (Slot 1) did have a communication issue (not the same Ethernet card for the RIO (Slot 3). -
Micrologix 1400 Lookup Table over Ethernet/IP

My project is to read an RFID tag (ascii) with a Micrologix 1400, send the string to a PC using Ethernet/IP, lookup and compare in an Excel spreadsheet, and send back data (probably an integer) for the plc to use to control direction. I have to scan and compare an RFID tag to a list of 1400 possible part numbers, at different locations (more than 1 plc). I want the several PLCs to go to a single PC to make it easy to update when changes occur (on a weekly basis). Has anyone done anything like this? I'm assuming there will have to be some kind of vb or c+ application involved. Thanks, CK -
MicroLogix 1100 and In-Sight Cognex DM300 series commumication

Hi All, Am trying to communicate and make In-Sight bar code reader to trigger through MicroLogix 1100 with RSLogix 500. Does any have any info as to the steps to follow. Most of the info I saw and have tried were for SLC processor In fact, I created the String file ST10:0 for the target device as was mentioned in one of the posts but when I complied it there was error saying that St10:0 was not supported by the module. Please see attached file. Any insight will be appreciated -
Is there any reason not to have input and output modules on the same rack as the processor and Ethernet cards? We have RIO’s and sometimes have networking outages, I want to move critical IO to Rack0 the same rack as the processor, is this bad practice? I've seen architecture for BMS that only have Ethernet cards and processors in Rack 0...

Hi everybody, Is it possible to send MELSEC commands to oneself, locally, not using the phiysical ports? I would like to use some commands described in the "Communication_Protocol_Reference_Manual_(MELSEC)" to get some self-management functions in my PLC. For example, in OMRON this is possible using CMND instruction and setting the FINS address to 0.0.0 in the parameters of the instruction. Thank you very much.

How to connect Mitsubishi PLC with QJ71EIP71 and SICK FLEXI soft Ethernet/IP

Hi everyone. I have project to use PLC Mitsubishi Q03UDECPU with QJ71EIP71 to connect with SICK FLEXI soft Ethernet/IP (FX0-GENT00030). I have check both manual but when I turn on Y0 (communication start) there are error code F100h on my QJ71EIP71 and I check that it can only use with produce/consume tag from PLC (such as OMRON, Allen Bradley) but for SICK device it can use only for assembly instance. Then I have use Ethernet/IP scanner (Molex) to read attribute (service code 72h) then I can read status from SICK but as I told before QJ71EIP71 can only communicate with tag-based. Then I have to ask everyone that 1. Are there method that can use QJ71EIP71 to communicate by use Assembly Instance? 2. Could I set consume tag name on FLEXI soft Designer? 3. Are there any protocol gateway device that match with these solutions? -

Hello! I have a problem with Allen-Bradley High Speed Counter card 1734-VHSC24/C. I need to make changes to the configuration parameter .OnValue1 (DINT) during the system is running. Now, for changing the parameter value, I need to switch off the module and this can not be done during the line is running. I think that maybe this can be done using the explicit messaging. I could not find information for this from internet, so now I ask you to help me with this item. If anyone have experience or knowledge of this, please help me. I do no have experience using explicit messaging. My configuration: Studio 5000 Logix Designer V24.00, 1756-L71S V24.11, Ethernet/IP, 1734AENTR, 1734-VHSC24/C countermodule. -
Hi Dears, I have one heavy ethernet network I have 21 station PLC (S7 300) that each station have one server & I have one server that connected to all of this PLC in center. all servers are in one ethernet network I want to know that this configuration is ok? ethernet network can support these number of servers? or may be network fail?

Hi Im hoping someone can help me out! i have a PLC SLC 5/03 and i want to connect the DB9 port with DH485 protocol to a computer 100 fts from there, is there any problem with the distance? and what kind of cable should i use , i already connected with my laptop with a USB-serial with a null modem cable RS232 (i did the cable by my self) but for the distance i cannot keep using that protocol so what is the recommendation?

Hi I am trying to connect a Nachi MZ01 robot to a proface (LT400M) HMI/PLC, I cannot seem to get the communications fully working as I have a response error on the proface and a I/O error on the robot pendant, I also cannot find the assembly instance in the manual for the robot to set in the proface device setup, I am using 256 Bytes in inputs and outputs, I have attached the proface software below. Hello, I currently have two IC220PNS001 connected to IC695PNC001. The PLC being used is IC695CPE330. Out of the two PNS001, one of them has a solid SF Red light on which means bus error according to the Status Parameter IO. I disconnect every single IC220 card connected and downloaded the whole configuration but I still have a Bus error. PS: I have also tried to switch the PNS001 with the brand new out of the box and I still have the same error. In the manual, it says Profinet Diagnostic available, can somebody please guide me as to where I can find the Profinet Diagnostic, also is there any manual for PNS001 which explains the in-depth debugging process for this PROFINET Controller.

Hi all. I've been tasked with installing/configuring a development box (dev studio 2017 U3 SP1) and then creating a test application using Intouch to communicate to a bunch of rockwell PLC's on the test wall. Normally we would use Citect or FactoryTalk Studio but unfortunately the customer has a couple of OEM InTouch panels (I think communicating with Siemens PLCs *shudders*) and wants to go this route. Anyways. I spent a day installing and configuring a windows 10 development box with 2017 U3 SP1, Hit the windowmaker tile and started to cry.... The new AVEVA website is practically useless, and I'm still waiting to be contacted from technical support. I have used an older version (much older maybe 10 or 15 y/0) of the intouch software which was interfacing a triconex PLC, It looks like the developing of screens hasn't changed too much, however, Q/ What exactly do I need to download/install for my communications? I've read the PDFs that installed with the dev software and watched a bunch of youtube vids (and fruitlessly searched the aveva knowledgebase) and there looks to be more than one way to skin the cat. Maybe I missed the option in the multitude of installation screens to add additional drivers?? It looks like I need either SuiteLink? or ABCIP version 7? (assuming they are not the same thing??). I can only see ABCIP version 4 (dated 2012) on Aveva (and a tech note about version 6.? and 7.0 potentially crashing the L8x range of AB PLCs) and I'm sure suitelink is a collective term for any and all drivers It seems like it should be a very simple and obvious thing to do but I'm stumped. Any assistance GREATLY appreciated Regards Dave

To all the gurus. We have a project now that is using CJ2M PLC. However some hardware is using 1 piece of ETN21 card while some machines are using 2 cards. Programs sequence is quite similar. However Customer wants us to be able from program side able to detect if there is 1 card presence or 2 cards presence. Not sure if there is certain bits or memory in PLC that program can tap to "detect" number of cards that is presence.

Hi Dears I have one CP1H with CIF41 in its option port1. Firstly I connected to CIF41 ( ON DIP Switch 4,5) and I could download to CPU with ethernet FINS and I connected my HMI to this network and every thins be OK. after one week I power ON the panel and now CIF41 not working. every setting is ok (DIP switches and other settings). now when I connected to CIF41 no LED is on and my laptop network dont recognize the CIF41. can you help me? what is the problem?

Good day. I'm using 1756 L71S GuardLogix Integrated Safety Controller with Studio 5000 v28. My controller is connected to a third party software through ethernet connection, it simulates my project hardware and provides all the signals to my PLC. To know all the hardware signallocation at PLC memory, it uses a Tag export file provided by Studio 5000. In other PLCs, when you declare a variable as hardware input, you have to select in which address from the memory you want this input to be read, something like "Bit Input 0.0". But in AB this step is skipped, that is all addresses are managed by Studio5000 and hidden from the user. Is there any configuration at Studio 5000 that let me assign or at least see this addresses? Normally I would prefer my tags addresses to be hidden, but in this specific case it is more useful to know memory addresses.

HiI am just starting out at a new job full of GE systems.I have a IC695ETM001 ethernet card which has a RS232 port for Station manager access.I can currently see some info (such as IP, firmware version etc.) from the card when I connect with Putty and cycle the power but I cannot send commands to the card. I've tried Putty, hyper-terminal and a standalone Station manager terminal from GE but nothing works.Anyone know whether I'm missing something?

Hi ~ Thank you for helping me I use the Q03UDVCPU this time. I set a TPC MC Protocol 3000 port on the Built-in Ethernet to give PC to connection. The ethernet cable configuration is the PLC CPU link to Switch and link to PC. The problem is that when the PC is connected to the PLC, I use the Ethernet diagnostic of Work 2, you can see that the port 3000 is occupying by PC. There is no problem here, but when I remove the ethernet cable the PC, this 3000 port should be cleared, but the IP still occupying this 3000 port, until I remove the PLC CPU ethernet cable, it is the same result, and my PC can no longer be reconnect. Since the ethernet cable are all removed, the connection status should be updated, I don't understand why it is still occupying. Does anyone know the answer? Thank you so much!

Omron NX102 / NX1P2 cannot trigger MOXA ioLogik E1212 Outputs through Ethernet/IP connection, But I can read the Inputs Status All the time. Just CANNOT trigger the Outputs signal through Omron PLC. Moxa claim that they can use AB PLC trigger E1212 outputs and no problem at all, but now OMRON PLC cannot. Steps I am doing... Define the custom Data Type Structure. Create a variables with custom data type. Mapping with MOXA eds file setting. Inputs - 67 bytes, Outputs - 1 bytes. I had Install the MOXA EDS file I do contact MOXA Support channel, they claim that Omron PLC not response to port 2222 . Can anybody help ? because same Omron PLC using for test also tested with other EIP device with no problem at all. I have no idea which party are problem now... T.T

I have to replace a PLC5 with a new 1756-L73. There are (3) panels involved in system. The main panel controls (2) other panels remotely via each their own 1771-ASB module. Time is of the essence on this project so I am trying to find ways to reduce the required downtime needed to make the switch over. I am going with AB's new conversion method of using the existing swing arms assemblies into a mounting adapter then the c-logix rack on top of that. Question - Can I convert the (2) remote panels first or can they only be done once the main panel with the PLC has been converted over? The remotes only have input & output cards in them.

Communicating between plc's with different IP's

I am trying to get produced and consumed tags set up between 2 1756 racks with different ip's. The 1st rack has an ip address 172.28.6.3. The 2nd rack has an ip address of 10.81.105.8. Would this be as simple as adding an EN2T card to one of the racks and setting the ip of one onto the same network? Or is there a better way to do this? -
I have a client who is duplicating an existing Wonderware SCADA/MELSEC Q Series with a Wonderware 2014 R2 configuration, which they want to maintain that version. The driver they use is the DASMTEthernet, which is no longer available from Wonderware. I'm looking for any lead I can find to get hold of this driver, or a good solution to resolve the communications.

We have an old press using a Series 90-30 with a 311 CPU 5 Slot Rack. I am trying to pull the program off so we can convert it to a new CompactLogix. I am using Proficy ME v6.0. I have the proper RS232-485 cable and a built in serial port on my XP laptop but cannot get it to connect. I know that Logicmaster projects cannot be opened by Proficy ME and being such an old 90-30 it probably was programmed using Logicmaster. Would being programmed by Logicmaster prevent me from even being able to communicate via serial connection?
