  2. Hello everybody, i have some uncertainties going through my head. i am fairly new in PLC word, graduated last year, last 12 month i did project on Siemens PLCs, but now i have to expand my view with Mitsubishi. 1. i am working on project with several conveyors. for each conveyor type i have FB fairly similar to my FB in siemens. For all conveyor i am using same sdt containing 32 bits. So a have array[0..20]  of said sdt. But in fb i was not able to copy item from array, through input var containing index of that item to vocal variable, which i wanted to write back to the array at the end of fb. I tried different approach ->  using item from array *** input/output.  When monitoring item from array i can see, that variables i change in got2000 panel are in fact changing. But when i monitor fb itself, those same variables are not changing. i reworked this fb several times, for example when i found out that FB variables FB FXcpu cannot be set as retain so i would like to use it and i see no other way than make this fb work. :D 2. Is there possibility to us FB in another FB? I remember that i read some restriction about this, but now, i cannot find it. Thank you everybody for your responses
  3. Hi all  I need help with communication between Mitsubishi L06CPU-P with Siemens S7-1500 by Modbus TCP. It's necessary to send data from L06CPU to S7-1500, but I don't know anything about mitsubishi and gx works2.  Picked up some pics how I did it, but I didn't verified how it works. Can anybody help me with this? https://ibb.co/8KDmg5x https://ibb.co/Jm8shCx   edited: I also found LQnUDEModbusTCP_GW2_with_FC_V120 library, but how it works I dont know
  4. Hello, I'm trying to use Mitsubishi GX Works 3 version 1 for the first time and get a 'memory is insufficient' error window when I try to open/start a new project or if I try to open a PLC project a co-worker made. I am using Windows 10/64-bit, company we purchased the software from says they are using it on windows 10 without issue. I get the error with no other programs running, have 6 GB RAM, and have 90% hard drive space available. I have monitored Task Manager while opening a file, RAM usage seems fine, and have tried opening with "Run as storminess".  I have tried uninstalling the program using the window "uninstall or change a program" - is the a different way to uninstall this program that will wipe it more completely? The install CD has Disk1, Disk2, Disk3(DocFX) sub folder , Support folders - I ran the .exe file from all 3. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am able to open an HMI project in GT works 3 without issue. I attached a screen shot of the error. Thanks so much!!
  5. Hi All, Have recently embarked on a project that has required me to change over to GX Works 3 in order to link an IQ-R120PCPU to a Citect 2018 SCADA package . In days gone by under IEC Developer and GX Works 2 it was quite easy to establish communications between the programming package running in simulation mode and a running Citect system using the MXCOMP driver via MX Components to perform offline testing. Can't seem to find a way to get it to work under GX Works 3 though, has anyone tried a similar setup Simulated logic in GX Works 3 is running fine and can modify the IO from inside MX Components "PLC Monitor Utility" program so there is no issues there, just cant get Citect to communicate. MX Component comm's has also been proven reading/writing variable to an excel sheet with GX Works 3 in simulation mode also. Attached are the files for getting GX Works 2 up and communicating to Citect 2018 via the same method i am trying to get working in GX Works 3 in case anyone ever needs to use that method. Any help would be appreciated.     GXWORKS 2 & CITECT 2018.zip
  6. How to make a recipe?

I'm coming from AB and Automation Direct and I guess to assume they would even be remotely similar was a joke. In AD I have the ability to pull up a recipe on the HMI with the Part number (Vertical column) and different attributes of the part in the following 5 columns (derived from tags in the PLC). How do I replicate this in GT Designer 3? I'm utilizing GX Works 3 with it.  I have a recipe record box on the HMI screen thats visibility is based on a tag in the PLC. How do I make it do the same thing has previously described? Going through the settings of the Recipe Display, I can't find any place to add the columns based on the tags. It seemingly gives you very limited options in the settings. Has anyone had better experience with this that can point me in the right direction?  Thanks in advance!

  8. Recipe Load Record using script

Hi guys, I have been baffling with this for a while now, it there a way on GT Designer 3 to execute the "Load Record" FFCH using a script? I would like to load the recipes onto a PLC without having to press any keys on the GOT. Simply scan a value using an external scanner, the scanned value updates the control target record name. A simple script that has a trigger coming from the PLC would execute the "Load Record - FFCC" Thanks in advance.
  9. Password for GX3 Files

Hello We use to protect our files from GT Designer3 with a username and password. So, I can only open the project if I know the user and password. Very handy. I found that function not in GX Works 3. The field "User management" in "project" menu is disabled (grey). So, I surely miss something.  Can somebody help? The manual only tells about Block and CPU security.  Thanks!
  10. GT Designer 3: Label import error

  12. Hi Guys   I am trying to change a profibus module on a Q02CPU from a QJ71PB92D to a QJ71PB92V, but when I try to download I keep getting the error Flash ROM writing could not execute rightly.   Now I can download and upload code thus I think the Cable and PLC power OFF is a null. How would I do this? I am using GX Works 2, as I do not have GX Configurator AD.   Kind Regards Morne
  13. GX Works3 problem

Hi Guys, Can you help me out with this question The servo motor connected to axis-1 rotates in the forward direction when the M1 button is pressed, and in the reverse direction when the M2 button is pressed. When two buttons are pressed at the same time, the engine stops after 5 seconds. Write the program that performs this process with GX Works3.
  14. GX works 3 fx5 4ad help

Hi all, I'm trying to set up the analog on channel 1 of the fx5-4ad module. I've set my parameters but I'm wondering if anyone has an example of the ladder side in GX works 3. I'm looking to read the signal in an hmi. Thanks
  15. I am in desperation.....I had a Recipe setup made for my NA-Series HMI using Sysmac Studio.  It WAS working until I decided I wanted the name of the Recipe to be something different.  After I compiled the HMI, I got several errors referring to the new name of the Recipe file.  I remembered that there was some background code that had the old name in it so I went there and changed all the statements to the new name....still no luck. I changed the Recipe name back and changed all the background code statements back to the old name....and I still get the faults.... What have I done and how do I fix it?  I am desperate to fix it as I have customers on Wednesday morning :? Thanks,

  20. MR-J4-60GF-RJ Programming

I am new to Mitsubishi (only done Allen Bradley) and Im tasked with programming a MR-J4-60GF-RJ servo drive with a HG-SR motor. I am using GX Works 3 and have a R02CPU and I am wanting to use CC Link IE Field Basic communication with this. Do I have to use the point table to move this motor from "Point A-B" or can I send absolute positions, speed, etc to a given position. Any advice/programming examples would be great.
  21. GX Works 3 - PID control

Hi, I am using PID function (PID operation instruction) from GX Works 3 library but it doesn't work. I set all necessary parameters (sampling time, direction and upper/lower limit values + KP, TI). My input PID_Par is array of 25 points (in manual is written: "*1When auto tuning is not used, the same number of points are occupied as when the step response method is used."). For example, in GX Works 2, PID function works ok. Did someone have similar problem? Does someone have mitsubishi library (GW Works 3) with PID function that works correctly?   Regards Luka
  22. Hello, Completely new to Mitsubishi PLCs and I need to use a date and time stamp for data collection purposes. We have a Siemens PLC as well and this has the data type "Date_And_Time" which is what I need to replicate. I have been attempting to write my own data type but am struggling with how to go about this as it is not straightforward and I cannot find anything about how the Siemens Date_And_Time is made up so I have nothing to go off. Does anyone have an example of a data type they have made that is the same? Or is there a data type which does this already in GX Works 2 that I just can't seem to find?  Please help!

  25. We have an iQ-r R08cpu that will not display some labels or addresses.  The PLC and the machine it controls run as expected.  However, when we read from the PLC, some of the labels and addresses are not shown.  Although it runs as expected, we are hesitant to make any changes or write to the PLC. There is a screenshot attached.  Any advice or solutions for this?
