  1. Hello everyone, I need the help to do setting of datalink between CJ2 and LOGIX-5324ER. The Allen bradley PLC was programmed by contractor and I have no software of it, so I am doing the network setting in CX-one network configurator. I tried to do the instruction in the Quick Start Guides on Downloads section here under Omron, but I couldn't find the option to register tags in network configurator. Is there anything wrong here? or is it possibly because of that they not support to do a datalink in these version of PLCs? They appeared like these in the pictures.
  2. HI, I HAVE FX5UCPU connected to other devices through built in RS485 port , i have gone through ADPRW instruction .To configure Slave devices like other third party controller , is there any special instruction required. i need few sample programs for modbus data transfer.
  3. MES US over Ethernet

I have a Mitsubishi MES US network module ( QJ71MES96US ) connected to an Ethernet remote PLC (through an Enet switch). I'm not sure if this matters, but the remote rack has a Q PLC and an Ethernet master module kit (Q03UDECPU-EIP-K is the kit that has a Q03UDECPU and EIP4CCPU next to it). I am wondering if and how we connect the MES to a Q PLC over Ethernet to pull data. A coworker has configured the MES US module to talk to a PLC in a local rack, but never to a remote rack. If anyone can assist, or even reference a manual that would be appreciated, thank you.
  4.   In a certain area of our facility we have several machine that manufacture a handful of products. These machines were built at random intervals starting in the late 80's and consequently have a range of different PLCs that are used to control them (SLC 500 to ControlLogix L61).   The other areas of our facility use a server that has a historian installed (Canary) and the client (Axiom) is installed on our computer so we can view data trends in real time.    I would like to network our PLCs mentioned in the first paragraph to this historian to gather production and maintenance data.   I know that I need to network these devices through an OPC server (which we have).   Several of these devices have been connected through DH+ and/or Ethernet networks in the past but are no longer connected.   We recently connected some of the DH+ Devices to the Ethernet network (just to see if we could) with a Prosoft AN-X2-AB-DHRIO.   My questions are:   Are there any best practices for networking devices with different protocols, i.e. DH+, Ethernet, etc.? Is the way we have it set up now (with the Prosoft DH+ to Ethernet bridge) a robust (scalable, etc.) solution? Is there a better way to do this? Is it worth getting EtherNet/IP cards for the PLCs that don't have them?   If anyone has any experience with a similar scenario, insights/advice would be much appreciated
  5. Modbus/TCP PN communication

Hello, I'm trying to make communication between a 315-2 PN/DP and MSA Gasgard XL. I want to read out 40010, and 40020 from GasGard, it works sometimes, but most of time the connection does'nt  build up.  The parameters i using are: Start address: 9 Lenght: 10 Recv_Time: 5s Conn_Time: 5S I did playing with Recv and Conn Time and it effected the rate of succesful connections, but it still drops too often. Also i tried to read only 9 and 19, but then it didn't read 19. Anyone knows how could i optimize the connection? Thanks
  6. Hello I have a SLC5/05 and a Microscan MV40 smart camera which receives commands to a TCP port. Is there a way the LSC 5/05 can send a command to the camera using the MSG instruction or any other instruction? I would appreciate any advice
  7. I'm looking at project with an OMRON NJ-101.  I was planning on using Modbus TCP/IP from the PLC to talk to a MOXA gateway (MB3170) which would then talk to about 7 different slaves over RS-485.  Looking at detail at the blocks that are supplied by OMRON (MTCP_NJ V1.3, available from https://www.myomron.com/index.php?action=kb&article=1245), I noticed that it doesn't send the slave ID, which will mean that it won't be able to talk to different slave ids through the one IP Address. I had a look through the actual code and it sends "FF" in place of the slave id.  In particular I was looking at the "MTCP_Client_Fn03" block. Is there another way to get the NJ101 to talk the full MODBUS TCP/IP protocol? Is it possible to edit the blocks provided by OMRON?  It seems to me that they are locked down. If I could edit it I could just add the functionality Thanks for your help in advance.
  8. Hello guys, i want to connect my CP1e-N30DT to modbus device like weighing scale, but i try to searching modbus with RTU but all of them use function block, i dont understand and i think my device cant use a function block.  Can you help me for connect CP1E to modbus device for get a holding register(4xxxx),input register(3xxxx), coil(0xxxx) and input status(1xxxx) with cx programmer? thank you
  9. Greetings everyone, I have a Proface HMI(LT-4201TM Modular type DIO) connected to a siemens flow transmitter(MAG6000). Communication between these two devices is using modbus. The modbus register that im using to get the data/reading of a totalizer from siemens transmitter are 403022 and 403023. I managed to display the exact totalizer value from siemens transmitter on the Proface HMI screen. But I couldnt get the exact totalizer value at the ladder logic side, the value that i get at the ladder logic side seems like a raw value. For an example, the totalizer's value is 147083(real value), but at the ladder logic side the value for 403022=15598 and 403023=17316.   Can anyone guide me to solve this issue.   Thanks in advance.
  10. My client is a pharmaceutical company and they want to interface their Blood Gas Analyzer (which is a RAPIDPoint 500) to a Controllogix PLC via EtherNet. I have attached a Spec that I found, which gives the initial information you would need to do this. It says that the BGA can transmit data in ASCII. However, it doesn't list what bits I need to send to the device in order for it to send the PLC the data. I've tried contacting Siemen's (who makes the BGA) and they were useless. I also tried searching the RA knowledgebase.  Does anyone have any insight on how to communicate with a device in this way? Thank you Tyler RP500_LIS_5_20_13_-_Rev_C_.pdf
  11. HMI and Weighing Indicator

hallo, i have problem here. i want to connect HMI OMRON NB7W-TW00B to weighing indicator with Modbus RTU rs485. i use this link https://www.myomron.com/index.php?action=kb&article=1538 for wiring diagram for rs485. and the baudrate, databit, parity check and stop bit is same between HMI and weighing indicator. but the output in HMI is "[2] PLC No Response: 00-01-2" i think the problem is my rs485 connection. can you help me? thank you.
  12. Omron CJ2M - Wago remote I/O

Hi there, I’m not sure how familiar most of you are with Wago remote I/O, but I hope you may have some solution for the following connection problem I’m having. I’m working on a project to modernise an old folder collecting machine for which I’m using an Omron CJ2M Cpu33 together with 8 Wago 750-352 remote I/O units over ethernet/ip. These Wago units all contain two 8DI digital input cards and two 8DO digital output cards alongside a 750-610 bus power supply card. Adding them to my network in CX network manager is no problem and all seems to work fine. That is, as long as I don’t physically add the bus power supply card, which I need to, well.. power the Wago bus. Soon as I add this card (which was in place while making all the necessary settings to the Wago and Omron units) it just won’t connect. Remove it and it connects like it should. As far as I know the power supply card has no I/O addresses or other communication functions whatsoever, so I can’t get my head around it. Even stranger is that when instead of it I add an analog input card, with bus power connections build in, it connects without a problem. The .eds file only contains info about the main Wago unit, after installing it I should be able to add any kind of I/O card and address them in the Omron software. Also, the supply card is added and visible as a fifth card in the Wago I/O settings and the I/O status led is green during this error. Therefore I would say the problem is at the Omron side. Any sugestions?   Thanks in advance Andy - The Netherlands
  13. Morning Guys, For my latest project I need to read a gas sensor via 485 from a Momentum PLC. I've been through the help files, but they seem to only raise more questions than they answer, they only seem to reference PLC -> PLC comms. I've had a play with the 'MBP_MSTR' & 'OUT_IN_MBUS' function blocks, but i can't seem to get anywhere, Has anyone got any examples of reading in data via 485, or can anyone lead me in the right direction?
  14. Hello, I wanna be sure before I'll spend some money, will I be able to control Turck devices (ie http://pdb2.turck.de/cz/DE/products/000000170000c8000003003a ), from I've found here on forum and on internet it looks to me like it should be possible, but I'm new in field of automatization.   Thanks in advance EDIT: I'm talking about Modbus
  15. WeinTek to AB PLC Issues

I am connecting a WeinTek eMT3105P to a CompactLogix L2 series PLC via the WeinTek Rockwell PLC (CompactLogix) - Free Tags driver and I cannot for the life of me get the thing to connect. I have all my tags imported and have played around with all the settings in the manuals I can find. Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. I know my IP addresses are correct and if I connect my cable directly from the HMI to the PLC I still get the "PLC no response" message
  16. 1 slave to multiple masters

Hello everyone. I got the project where plc Q00UJCPU with the module QJ71MB91 connected to the slave device via 485 channel . This plc takes some values (like current/voltage etc). i dont have access to this plc cause he is on guarantee on another service company. So question is... How to connect to this device as a other plc FX3U via 485ADP-MB (and i think RS command) module in parralel to QPLC already working link? Is this possible without harm QPLC and all the data which he takes?
  17. Hello.   I'm trying to communicate between two PLC's  using FINS function block _CPU011:ReceiveData.   PLC1: IP 192.168.1.50 (MASTER)   PLC2:IP 192.168.1.51 (SLAVE)   If I don't use »IP Address Table« everything works using NODE number &51.       The problem is that on the real project these two PLC's will be on different subnet.   For example:   PLC1: IP 192.168.1.50   PLC2: IP 192.168.2.50   So I will have to use »IP Address Table« to achieve communication between these two PLC's.   I tried to sett IP Address Table on MASTER: Node 1=192.168.2.50   But If I try to communicate I see that packet is sended to network but I've got error #1005.   Do I have to sett the SLAVE IP Address Table?   Hoe to do this?   What are the right settings for MASTER and SLAVE IP Address Table?     I'm attaching pictures of CARD settings.  I don't want to use CX-Integrator because I would like to make project to UPLOAD and forget.       Thanks.
  18. RS485 Async

Hey guys I don't have much experience in PLC serial communication and I'm tasked to integrate 6 OP-905 scales with our EATON based control system. The scales are rs485 asynchronous serial communication, my concern is that if the device is not designed to be an RTU then I cannot use modbus. And if that is the case how do I talk to multiple scales using the async protocol. Has anyone done this in a similar platform?
  19. Operation error

I am developing an application with fx5u with inverter d700, it fails to send a command to the inverter, only running the application and monitoring the clp does not appear to fail, only when it sends a command. Attached photo of plc configuration and error. Do you have any secrets to doing communication, can I do it with a normal network cable? I'm doing with just one inverter, as the terminator should be at 110 or 330 ohm.
  20. We recently obtained a new Vendor ID (VID) Number from ODVA, 1477 for the purposes of developing an EtherNet/IP scanner device.  When we try to use that number with the Allen-Bradley PLC & Studio 5000 Logix Designer, our data type REAL's are showing up in Studio 5000 as SINT's.  We have seen this mangling of data types before when using the Omron VID, 47 with the same Allen-Bradley PLC/EIP Scanner.  The data types are being misinterpreted, or mangled from REAL to SINT, e.g. the *.eds file defines 32 REALs for Input and 32 REALs for Output, but within Studio 5000 we see 128 SINTs each for Input and Output. It is as though the Allen-Bradley/Studio 5000 database does not have our Vendor ID.  When I change the *.eds file, Vendor ID Number from #1477 to #1 then we see the *.eds file being properly read and interpreted, e.g. 32 REALs for Input and Output show up as 32 REALs each.  Does anyone know what file we need to modify in Studio 5000 ???  We want to add our Vendor ID #1477 to that file. Hardware: EIP Scanner: Allen-Bradley Compact Logix L18ERM EIP Adapter: Delta Tau Power PMAC Motion Controller (EIP OpeNer Stack) Thanks in advance! See screenshots below. within Studio 5000, see screenshots
  21. Hello to all, I am new here, and I have a project with FX3U plc and CR 2DA 700 robot controller. Does anyone have some experience in establishing communication over FX 3U enet module and robot controller, I need to send and receive 5- 10 M registers and D integers. Thanks
  22. Hello everybody, I have network from : PC - 192.168.3.11 PLC - 192.168.3.250 I change this option in FX5U PLC in GX Works3 for Network Ethernet port --> Application Setting -> Security -Disable Direct connect with MELSOFT : Enable/disable -DO not respond CPU module search : Respond / not respond and I upload program to PLC. After upload program to PLC and restart it was impossible to connect again. I Have ping between PLC and PC, but could't write program. Always writes me Error <ES:0180840b> So to disable Security Option you should to do : 1. Open Works3 2. New Project (Choose your PLC - FX5U) 3. Online menu 4. Specify Destination Communication 5. Click twice in PLC module 6. Set Connect via hub (In my case i connect PC and PLC directly !) 7. Choose IP Address ( in my project : 192.168.3.250 , PC must be in same network 192.168.3.X) 8. Give OK 9. Connect Test. With steps I disable security options and it was enable to connect to PLC and Write data on it. I Hope that will help to other with same problem. Special thanks to : Piotr Tynor(Mitsubishi, Poland ) , Adam Syrek (Mitsubish, Poland ) , I. Ayvazova (Bulgaria) , K. Raykov (Bulgaria)
  23. Hello, I was hoping for some help in trying to read/write to a handful of bits in a CJ1M-CPU13 controller from a Compact GuardLogix. The CJ1M rack has a CJ1W-ETN21 card that is already communicating to a handful of Yaskawa drives. Is it possible for me to communicate with this controller from a CLX unit over ethernet? I don't believe an ETN21 card uses EIP but is there a way around this? Right now, I'm struggling to even find the IP address of the ETN21 card as the CX-Programmer file provided to me by the customer does not have the card in the IO configuration and I've never worked with Omron PLCs before. I found a CJ2M to CLX guide but it assumes communication over Ethernet IP and the ethernet port is native to the controller. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks!

  25. Hello everyone. I have Omron CJ2M-31 PLC with SCU32 communication unit, and 34 3G3MX2 drives with repeater. I use "Easy to use Modbus RTU Master for CP1L CP1H CJ1 CJ2 CS1" written by our member PMCR (thank you PMCR for sharing your experience). I need to reed VFD status, reset fault, and write the speed. I tried the sample code version 2.12 with a single VFD, but in my test application it works inconsistent. I had got communication in the first place, I could control the drive, but I lost it after program modification and downloading (I did not touch communication part). I was able fix communication only once, and lost it again. I didn't find any correlation between my action and communication presence ( I tested dual port program version). If the communication is present, SCU unit blinks fast, otherwise slow. I have cleaned PLC memory and initialized PLC without any luck. Unfortunately, PMCR is offline. If anyone is proficient with mentioned above program, please advise where to look. Thank you in advance.
