  1. Hello All I am new to Mitsibishi servodrive, i am using a Beckhoff PLC TwinCAT3  and MR-J4-TM servo drive from mitsubishi , i connected the servo to the NTwinCAT using etherCAT. I was able to write a program where i was able to activate the servo from the TwinCAT using the mc_Power instruction . My question is , i am not able to run the servo using the mc_movevelocity and mc_moverelative . Do any one have any suggestion to how to go from here .. datei_Mr-J4-TM_TwinCat_EtherCAT.pdf

Is it possible to setup Ethercat parameters from within the PLC program?  I am facing a situation where a machine is going to have changeable tooling fixtures and each fixture is going to have an EtherCAT device on it.  I am guessing they will need to be setup to look like the same node to the PLC, but they will have different physical IDs and different settings for some of the parameter fields.  They will be the same device so they will have the same parameter fields, just different values in those fields. I can also get these devices with EthernetIP as the fieldbus option.  In that case I would always have a network error because the PLC would always see one of the devices missing from the network.  is it possible to enable/disable Ethernet connections from within the program logic to avoid the error?
  3. Hello All I am new to sysmac studio, i am using a NJ301-1200  and R88M-KN10H servo drive , i connected the servo to the NJ using ethercat. I was able to write a program where i was able to activate the servo from the NJ using the mc_Power instruction . My question is , i am not able to run the servo using the mc_movevelocity and mc_moverelative . Do any one have any suggestion to how to go from here ..  
  4. Is it possible to use FX3U-485ADP-MB as a serial port to send and receive user defined string/data to and from a computer? I have a FX3U-32M PLC and two FX3U-485ADP-MB adapters. I have been using PLC with one adapter as Modbus Master. Now i want to use both adapters, where one will be Modbus Master as usual and the other I want to use to send and receive data to and from computer terminal (Example - Realterm). I have a third party 232/485 converter which works really well. Lets me just describe my requirement straight forward. I want to display process parameters on a windows computer based user interface (UI) and also set some variables in PLC from the same UI. The UI has access to serial ports of computer.

  6. Hello I have a scenario that's been bugging me for some time now. The scenario consists of a Micrologix 1400 that I need to control it's output from modbus/tcp. In detail what I really need is to be able to manipulate the O0:0 through modbus/tcp. The PLC would be the master and I would be the slave that triggers the connection to the master. I'm using a Modbus-Client on my PC and that should be the slave. Any idea as to how I can manage that? Currently I can send data to the master but everything is "stored" on B10 and I have no idea how I could write directly on O0. Thanks a bunch guys. PS: I'm borderline noob. 
  7. My NX7 controller all of a sudden lost the EtherCAT configuration today. The safety PLC was in fault and some of the safety I/O slices on the NX EtherCAT coupler are missing. How does this happen and how do I fix it? I tried to download the configuration using synchronize but I keep getting coupler and NX-SL3 safety PLC errors. I connected to the coupler using USB and the actual configuration is missing some slices?     I only see an option to 'Apply Actual Unit Configuration' but nothing about going the other way.  The coupler is in error so is this why I can't send the project configuration with all the slices back to the coupler? The NX-SL3 safety PLC is in error because of these missing slices?
  8. Password Protected LS Master K

    I have a customer that has a LS Master K PLC, and he needs me to make some changes to the program. I am not the original program writer so I do not have the original program nor the password. And the company that originally made this program does not exist anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions on a software or a device that can help me either find the password or just bypass it. I need help ASAP Please!!!!! I saw there is a password breaker while i was googling, but the software cost $50, and it looked a little sketchy so I am kind of hesitant to trust 1 purchasing the software and 2 downloading it only my work laptop. Please help!!

  10. Hi all, I have an NJ trying to talk to the secondary side of a Kuka EL6695-1001 EtherCAT bridge. The NJ appears to recognise the bridge but fails with an "acquisition error" or "Failed to get the lower network configuration information". Apart from these messages (and the fact it doesn't work), it all appears to configure correctly (memory sizes and PDOs). The activity light on the bridge 'IN' port is flashing (connection to NJ) and we have verified the Ethernet cable. I have tried the ESI file supplied by Kuka and one supplied by Omron - no joy. Any suggestions please? Thanks.
  11. I need solution for master & slave configuration between 2 PLC Twido TWDLCAE40DRF. My final project is about a system for filling drink on a cup and do the packaging. the component of the project is the filling system (dropping cup, filling water, pressing the seal) and the packing (packing into a box and sealing the box). This project is using 2 PLC Twido TWDLCAE40DRF. My problem is how to configure one of them as the master and the other as the slave.     Hi, I’m trying to control 10 Safety switchgear using AS interface, and since I’m using Beckhoff as a PLC I want to use "KL6211 | AS-Interface master terminal" as a Gateway but since this is the first time I’m using Beckhoff I’m a bit lost, So my questions are: -          Is it a good idea to use a Beckhoff ASI terminal? -          How to configure it? -          Is there a possibility to configure it using embedded PC ( I’m using CX2030)? Excuse my English.

Hello I am trying to use a Kollmorgen AKD servo drive in ethercat with the NX1P2 PLC, but I am having problems, I can activate the driver, reset, read the current position but I can not get it to move the axis ... I tried using JOG, Move Relative, Absolute ... and nothing. Can someone help me?
  15. Master/Slave Communication

    Hello guys, I am using Fatek PLC's to communicate with each other as a Master & Slave through zigbee which is connected through RS485. And I succeed. But the issue is that I have to communicate each other at a distance of about 2km where zigbee out of range to each other. I am bit confused here; 1) whether I use RF booster? Does it work? 2) Should I introduce extra PLC as a repeater between master slave? But this(extra added) PLC repeater also become as a master(Master Repeater).or any idea? Most important I can using Fatek Protocol or Modbus RTU or Modbus ASCII prootcol.

Hey Guys,i'm working on implementing the master side of a custom serial master-slave protocol between a B&R PLC and an electronic card.As part of the data i'm sending and receiving is used to close various loops(e.g. cascaded temperature control where the temperature sensors and actuators are connected to the electronic card) , but other data is not as usefull (e.g. various data used for display or at specific times), i believe i will also need to implement some sort of priority mechanism.my first question is - based on your experience - how would the general master side SW architecture look like? (for example - the send side of mine is comprised of 3 tasks all running under the same cycle - lower level task in charge of opening the port, sending the data etc, a mid level task in charge of creating the packet based on command from upper level, giving commands to lower level and using status from it to continue and finally - an upper level task in charge of deciding which messages to send).my second question is - how would you implement the priority mechanism?thanks
  19. Hello.   I have a question regarding NB series display. The comunication is made through RS232 / RS485 comunication. I would like to use NB display as MODBUS MASTER and SLAVE aplication. - Display would work as MADBUS-MOSTER to talk to plc controllers. (Working through COM2 - RS485) - Secondly, Display would work as MODBUS-SLAVE to talk with (SCADA). (Working – Registers LW, LB))   What I have trouble with, is: - I would like to change variable in the PLC - for example : Regime_PUMP (address: 0x0001). - Regime_PUMP variable should be settable from all three devices PLC <-> DISPLAY <-> SCADA So: - If I change Regime_PUMP through PLC it should refresh also on DISPLAY and SCADA. - If I change Regime_PUMP through DISPLAY it should refresh also on PLC and SCADA. - If I change Regime_PUMP through SCADA it should refresh also on DISPLAY and PLC.   Does anybody have an example for NB series of display to do this?   Best regards.
  20. Hello all, I'm new to Beckhoff and running a PLC with EtherCAT I/O slaves. If one of the slaves is disconnected from the network (power loss or network cable broken) the whole PLC freezes, is there a way of configuring ethercat such that it remains (partially) operational, thus showing me the I/O on the unaffected stations.

  24. Hello all, Let's says my PLC has a refresh rate of 1 ms. Ethercat has a refresh rate of roughly 0.1ms. Correct me if I am wrong but every Plc scan time ethercat refreshes itself 10 times? Or does it only refresh itself one time with a time based on the Plc scan cycle of 1ms? Thank you
  25. With regard to an NJ EtherCAT network, all comms cables are shielded, but where should the shield connect to ground? I don't measure any connection between PE or FG on the NJ's power supply to the outer casing of the EtherCAT port on the NJ. (No connection to the Ethernet/IP port either.) I am also using a GX-JC06 junction slave, and none of the outer casings on this unit connect to ground either. On Omron G5 servo controllers, the EtherCAT link in and out port casings do not connect to ground either, but they ARE connected together, which means that the shielding path is maintained through. Is the grounding somehow made through active components, instead of a direct passive connection?
