  1. Hi, I am not an advance user of PLC's but I can muddle my way around. I am currently reviewing a program written by another person and I will need to make some modifications. I have noted that on a M8002 pulse the Mitsubishi FX2N-8AD CH5 to CH8 -[To K0 K1 H3333 K1]-  are all set for a 4-20mA current input which is perfectly acceptable however on the same pulse is written -[TO K0 K22 K0 K1]-. I was hoping that someone could explain exactly what this is doing. I understand that the first K0 is the module number K22 is BFM#22 but I am not sure exactly what this is and I am a little confused by what is written in the manual. (8.2.7 BFM #22: Sets convenient functions: The functions described below are assigned to b0 to b3 of BFM #22. When a bit is set to ON, the assigned function becomes valid. When a bit is set to OFF, the assigned function becomes invalid..............) .Due to not knowing exactly what BFM #22 is doing I am unsure why the next K0 is used and the final K1 is to do this operation once? I apologise if this seems like a very basic question but I just can't seem to find any further detail online regarding BFM#22 that I can understand. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help. Paul.
  2. I an seeking guidance on how to link two mitsubishi PLC over Ethernet and have them pass bits/words between them.  PLC 1, Q03UDV built in port  ---- GXWorks 2 v1.54N   192.168.1.39  (QJ71 in slot 1 is also available if req'd) PLC2, Q02H with a QJ71 Ethernet card in slot 2.  Same GXworks2   192.168.1.35   I know with a modbus or CCLink setup, there is a place to declare the buffer > X/Y parameters, but i have found no such parameters for the ethernet connections. I found 1 document describing the JP.Send instructions but I have not been able to get that to work from the example.    any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. Mitsubishi Diagnostic

Hello everyone. If anyone knows how an empty slot on base  is defined by "system monitor" service of GX Works which shown in attached picture? I think this information is read from any CPU register address(Maybe SD or SM and  etc. registers). But I don't know exactly which address is deploying an information about empty slot on base. Thanks.
  4. It's another BOOTP post! I know you're all as excited as I am, so lets get started. But seriously, I'm trying to disable BOOTP on the built in Ethernet ports, not on an Ethernet module. I specifically say disable because BOOTP successfully assigns the IP address to my Compact Logix, however I still need to disable BOOTP to make it a static IP address rather than a dynamic IP address. I'm going to list everything that I have tried, so that anyone with the same issue can have an all-in-one-place reference. (Because there's a number of forum posts and other information for this topic on the internet, with many different suggestions) If I see different ideas/suggestions in other places, I can edit them into this post. Things I have tried: (and you should try if you have this issue) Disabling all firewalls, (For me: Windows/Avast) Disabling all other network adaptors. (Wifi especially, but any and all adaptors you are not using for the setup) Using a different laptop/operating system: (My current laptop runs windows 8.1 and uses a Linksys usb to Ethernet device to talk to the PLC, I tried a laptop running windows 7 which communicated using a built in Ethernet port) Lastly: Try to use all available methods to disable it. For me, that would be: BOOTP standalone server, RSLinx, (Trying to use both USB and Ethernet connections) and finally RSLogix. (Actually, only Ethernet modules have a "disable BOOTP" checkbox built into RSLogix, so that is not an option for me.) [If you have an Ethernet module, go to port configuration in RSLogix and uncheck the "enable BOOTP" checkbox] Anyway, RSLinx Classic (version 3.71) and BOOTP Standalone server (version 2.32) are each coming back with an error when I try to disable BOOTP. I'll attach a .jpg of some screenshots, and some Wireshark save files to show what I mean. In the RSLinx Wireshark file, it shows a "privilege violation" packet being sent from the PLC to the laptop towards the end of the exchange, but I'm not sure what privileges the laptop needs/doesn't have. For the wireshark files: I cleared everything happening before I try to send the command, so that there isn't a ton to search through. As far as timing of the wireshark files go: I start recording traffic, send the disable command (by clicking the disable BOOTP/DHCP button on BOOTP server or "apply" on RSLinx) then I stop recording traffic once I get the error message. So, the captured packets should be just the attempt to disable BOOTP and that's about it. I am sorry that I the pictures are strung together using paint, but I don't have photoshop on my work computer so it's the best I have. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated! (Regardless of whether they are suggestions for me, or suggestions that I may have missed intended for anyone with this problem.) Thank you for your time. Edit: I had the attached pictures open in paint/photo viewer, sorry that they look bad in the forum picture viewer. BOOTP_wireshark.pcapng rs_linx_USB_wireshark.pcapng rs_linx_wireshark.pcapng

  7. promblem plc

Hi , I started my plc about 5 years ago for plastic unit but now  When I turn them on, the correct screens appear on the HMI terminal, but no data is coming through from the PLC. After a few seconds, a pop-up appears sayingPLC No Response 00-00-0". Does anyone know the meaning of this message. Then I am on and off several times so that the device is turned on and working properly. I DON'T KNOW ?
  8. Hi guys, I'm having a problem on how to save the home position for omron servo driver. How does the servo driver know where the home position is after turning on? Btw, I am using Mitsubishi FX3u for my PLC

  11. Hey guys, first post!  Friends at Practical Machinist sent me over here b/c we were stumped.   I have a Mitsubishi 500M control CNC machine.  There is a section of the ladders that i don't understand, and Mitsubishi couldn't help, and the OEM is defunct.  I do not have a hardcopy of the ladder circuits. I have an output , [Y13], that i can't get to turn on because of an internal relay | M453 |       see pic 1 When i searched for relay M453, it seems as if it's in some sort of array function.  see pic 2 None of the relays from M448 thru M512 ever turn on.  I understand that all these are controlled thru this circuit, but i have no clue what is going on with the R registers, and how the heck these internal relays can be turned on. Can you guys help explain?   Thanks!
  12. PID (Q62HLC) in Q Series

Dear all, do you have some ready examples for Mitsubishi Q series(Q12HCPU) where you use PID (Q62HLC) ? I use two analog input from 4-20mA and two PLC output. I acept 2 signal from level sensor. So how can I use PID autotuning? As I see in examples in manual, there also have other parameters, which I must set, except PID function. Thanks in advance .
  13. I/O configuration error FX2N

Hello please could you help me with this problem . I have FX2N-16MT CPU with expansion modules FX2n-16ex-es , FX2n-16ey-es in that order . when i download the program on it and moniter online  i have active output on y22 ,y25, y13, y00, y27 (software) , i only found led of y00 (CPU module) ON , others of expansion op module not  (P.s power lamp on module on ) , however the expansion of ip doing well , .  i do that trails . 1-change combination to be FX2N-16MT CPU - FX2n-16ex-es -  FX2n 16eyr (new one) , but same happen  , when i go to plc diagnostics i found error 1010 i/0 hardware configuration  2-   FX2N-16MT CPU -   FX2n 16eyr (new one) , but same happen 3- FX2n- 14mt CPU (New one ) - FX2n 16eyr (new one) with same program it works ok  .  i wondering how melsoft software recognize expansion module of FX2N series and if it need hardware configurations (by rack like siemens plc ) the way of addressing ip and op in mitsubishi plc FX2n series . how to change it . and if i wanna to change the cpu 16mt , by 14mt ., does i need to change spacial markes or function on the machine program . . i m sry for my bad english and thanks in advance
  14. Hi guys! As the title explains, i wanna move a value to 210 -> 220... is there a function for that or do i have to make a MOV for every single dataregistry (look at picture)? Its an mitsubishi FX3GE PLC programmed in GxWorks2. Br, Jim
  15. i want to operate one machine on 24 Hour timer. PLC should read the actual time. i want to stop the machine during tea time and lunch time. the same will work for whole day. please help me to how to  make the ladder in mitsubishi plc.
  16. Hello All, I have a guardlogix processor that I just safety locked with a known password. When I tried to unlock, that password didn't work. Upon reading a bit I realized that the lock and unlock passwords are separate. I never set the unlock password but blank doesn't work. Could it be a leftover due to program copy paste or is there a way to find/reset this unlock password.
  17. Hello, If anyone had to do with GSM Module using with Mitsubishi Q PLC? I'm looking for a simple example of ladder program to send a error code via SMS. E.g. error M100 (internal variable in PLC) appeared - send M100 by SMS to phone number 123456789. If someone can help me? Thank you in advance.
  18. PLC Input Output sequencing

Hi all , new on site and looking for some help please. Need simple solution to the following example. Imagine a clock face. At every 45 degrees , I need an input and an output from the same input some milliseconds later. Before I get to 90 degrees , input 1 is now off awaiting input 2 at 90 degrees and so on. For my 360 degrees , this would require 8 inputs and outputs with only one input / output active at any one time with the program repeating the sequence continuously when back to zero degrees. Info please on suitable small inexpensive PLC and any suitable position feedback device , thanks , Al..//
  19. Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. I am tasked to make a couple of module specific function blocks for communication between our Mitsubishi PLC (GX IEC Developer 7.04) and a B&R remote IO over Profibus. A number of these blocks would then be used, depending on the RIO setup. Reading should be straight forward, just read X amount of words, starting from address Y. Writing is trickier as Mitsubishi prefers 16/32 bit Data whereas B&R batches Data in bytes! As I have several output modules in the RIO. I need to send my info "chained" together. Example: Module 1: 2 Bytes Module 2: 3 Bytes Module 3: 2 Bytes Totals: 7 bytes or 4 words. Sending the first word is no problem. Neither is the next two words (I will just have 1 empty byte at the end of the third word). But then the info to the third module should start in the middle of the third word. Any idea how I could solve this? Experimental: At the moment the blocks have inputs (bits), which are stored to a bit-array inside the block and then linked to an output. My idea at the moment is to merge all module-wise output bit arrays to one big bit array, converting that to INT and sending it off to the Profibus address. But I have not yet found a way to merge the arrays and shift them so all data is where it should be. Above example: ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..23] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL Totals: ARRAY [0..63] OF BOOL or [0..71] counting the spare byte. Converted to 8 Words and forwarded through Profibus. Thank you in advance.
  20. FX5U

Halo, i have question and asking for help. my factory use mitsubishi plc type fx5u. can anyone help me how to setting everything that make motor servo can run. PLC : FX5U Ampli Servo : MR-J4-70A Thank you for helping me.
  21. Hardware & software HMI - Beijer iX T12B / iX Developer 2.10PLC - Mitsubishi FX5U / GX Works3Error HMI shows "Controller 1: Comm err station 0". i.e., The HMI isn't getting a response from the PLC. IP addresses are all correct and ping (and can be programmed) OK. The HMI software PLC comms configuration has a "port" setting - see below. I can't find anything comparable on the the Mitsubishi software. Does anyone know what insight I'm missing here? iX Developer is configured as shown below: Note the port setting above. I can't find any documentation on what the PLC is expecting or what's special about 1025. The PLC is setup as below with GX Works3: Anyone got any ideas how to get the two talking? Many thanks.
  22. HI there guys need some help with a project i have on the go, I am having trouble saving multiple blocks as one recipe. I am using a E1043 with a total of 10 blocks each one has a value that has to be saved all into one recipe. I have assigned all the required blocks with the recipe directories. I understand the use of the save and load functions but this seems to only allow for one block been saved (the block with the save icon in it ). I have read alot of the manuals and help tutorials and cannot figure out what is needed to be able to do this if at all possible. Any help is much appreciated and thanks in advance :)
  23. Dear colleagues and siemens experts, I''m new in siemens. As all I make my program for PLC, but I need help with PID autotunig (pretuning) I use : 1.CPU 1214C DC/DC/DC (6ES7214-1AG40-0XB0) 2. 6ES7214-1AG40-0XB02. 16IN/16 OUT DC/DC/DC (6ES7-223-1BL32-0XB0) 3. 2x 6ES7231-5PD32-0XB0 ( 4 channel RTD analog module - PT100) We use 7(seven) Pt100 points with 7(seven) heaters ... so I need 7 additional outputs..... [you can see example of wiring in attached pic 6es7231-5pd32-0xb0-modules.jpg] Maximum heating point is around 220 degrees. I make my configuration for PID_Compact : 1. Basic settings 1.1 Controller type : Temperature : °C Set mode to : Pretuning ( sometimes I make it Automatic mode) 1.2 Input_Per(analog) -----> Output_PWM 2.Process value setting: 2.1 Process value limits: Process value high limit : 220.0 °C 2.2 Process value limits: Default 3. Advance setting 3.1Process value monitor : Default 3.2 PWM limits Minimum ON time : 0.5 sec Minimum OFF time : 0.5 sec 3.3 Output value : Default 3.4 PID parameters : Default I start Commissioning with these steps : 1. Measurement : Sampling time 0.5 Start 2. Start PID_Compact 3.Tuning mode : Start When I try first time my setpoint was 90 degrees , second time I try with 120 degrees. After 4-5 hours it stop more in Progress bar it stop when I reach a little more then 50%, and I stop PID. For heaters it is not normal to process to be 4-5 hours, there have some wrong. Example with 120 degrees : During process I make : When Input_PER reach 120[1200] degrees I stop physical access to heaters. When Input_PER reach 100[1000] degrees I start physical access to heaters So 4-5 hours is soo long time for this type process. Time to reach 120 degrees from 100 degrees is around 2-3 min. Time to fall from 120 degrees to 100 degrees is around 4-5 min. Total time for one whole cycle around : 8min. Sometimes when I set setpoint to 140, 150 degrees it writes me that output set value is to high after I give Start Pretuning ? Even sometimes when try for 120 degrees .... As all I want to start PID pretuning (autotuning) with setpoint 140 - 150 degrees. Which are minimum requirement to start PID autotuning with PID_Compact ? Could you send me some very simple example and steps that I must make or only steps ? I attached files in dropbox with images and program example, because I can't attached nothing here. This form don't give me access to attached something. So link is here : Even program is there. Thanks in advance Best regards : Altan
  24. Software: GX Works3 I'm really struggling to understand GX Works online / offline operation. (I know they've been consistent in how this works for the past ten years - but it's consistently bad!) I can't find how to work in offline mode. I powered off the PLC and the software keeps trying to connect. I've cleared the PLC memory and am trying to download the complete program to an FX5U. (I was able to do it earlier. I'm still able to communicate with PLC over Ethernet.) I'm getting:Unable to write target file because it is the following status. (sic) - Unconverted - Converted function block does not exist in FB file. - Converted function block does not exist in FUN file. - Unconverted module label. There are no red items in the navigation tree. There are no errors after a Rebuild All command. What do I need to do to figure out what the problem is? Many thanks.
