  1. NX1P2 FTP Data Sending Process

Hello people! I'm working on a project that part of it, is to send data that are collected in the PLC, via email to office. The PLC and HMI I use (NX1P2 and NB series),they do not support any email instruction, unfortunately.  To overcome this obstacle, I decided to forward those data (saved in .csv file) by using the FTPPutFile instruction and to upload the csv file from PLC to a dedicated folder to the office computer. PLC will be the client (passive) and the computer will be the server. And here is where I need your help.. The set up is offline by using a dummy ethernet switch. I set an IP address in the computer, as well as to the PLC side. If I set the PLC as a server (FTP server ->use -> port 21,pass & username), I can connect from the office computer to the PLC and download the file, by using cmd. When I try to use PLC as a client, Ftpputfile instruction always gives errorid 2407 and erroridex 00000226. In the FTPPutFile instruction box I set the following: ConnectSvr: IP address of PC, port 21, username & pass  SvrDirName: the physical path I set when I configured the FTP site on PC (C:\...) LocalDirName: '/' FileName: '.. .csv'    Further more, in the file explorer I type ftp:\\(IP address of PC), I log in but when I try to create a new folder 550 error is coming up (I suppose this is for permissions). Am I missing something? Do you have any suggestions/guide for making this work? I am not an IT and I am not experienced in that field so any help would be great!   Thanks! Man31
  2. I'm trying to understand the basics of using a serial to ethernet converter such as this Comtrol DM-EIP-2101, with Studio5000 code. Basically I have a weighing machine that only outputs data via RS-232 and I need to send that data to a PC that will process it through a Studio5000 program and have the data displayed on an HMI using FTview SE. Is it as simple as just connecting the serial and ethernet to the converter and it does all the work? Obviously checking ip addresses and firmware will need to be verified. The main thing I am unsure of is the process of passing the individual data packets from the machine to the Logix code on the PC,  things like what the weight of the item was, was it over weight or under, etc....  Would there be an AOI or tags built into the software for a machine like this Checkweigher? I've worked with much smaller items like Cognex Dataman cameras and I know you can just use their AOI that allows you to simply call a tag if you want to display information like if a scanned barcode was correct or whatever. If anyone has done something similar I'd appreciate any guidance. It can be difficult getting the information from the manufactures so I'm looking for answers anywhere I can. EDIT: I guess I should also clarify that only using one or the other (serial or E/IP) is not an option. It will be a serial connection from the Weighing machine to the converter and then Ethernet to the PC.
  3. I'm trying to set up an Ethernet/IP communication with a CIP block between a Micro850 and a SMC EX600-sen3 pneumatic Module. I can read the inputs of the module with the configuration below, but I CANT write to SET or RESET the digital outputs. There are NO errors showing communications issues in the CIP Generic Block I am using... I read that for some reason, it seems that there are problems with writing thru Ethernet/IP protocol between Micro family and other devices not from Rockwell... Does anyone know if there is a way to make it work? Configuration that is working to READ: CIP Service Code:     14 CIP Class ID:         4 CIP Instance ID:     100 CIP Attribute:         3 CIP Member ID:         0 Configuration that is NOT working to WRITE: CIP Service Code:     16 CIP Class ID:         4 CIP Instance ID:     150 CIP Attribute:         3 CIP Member ID:         0

  5. Hi All, Has anyone had the experience of connecting two Fernhill Scada units using an OPC UA?  I am intending to use Fernhill Scada on my Master PLC to read tags from my Slave PLC's Fernhill Scada. Then, displaying local tags (Master PLC, "Fernhill SCADA Unit 1") and read/scanned tags from the Slave PLC, "Fernhill SCADA Unit 2". In the meantime, I am trying to use both of my Fernhill SCADA units interact with each other (one unit to read tags from the other unit) by using Internal Digital Tag on the Fernhill SCADAs.  Any help would be appreciated.
  6. 1756-L55 firmware 15.56

  7. I have a bit of an issue with communication between GOT1000 HMI (I think the exact model is GOT1675V) and Q03UDE PLC over Ethernet. The GOT is set to 192.168.1.4 and PLC is set to 192.168.1.2 but I get the error "Communication Error. Refer to System Alarm in Utility Menu". Now how do I access the utility menu? I have tried to tap and hold on the upper corners of the HMI but nothing happens. I also can not switch between screens when I press buttons even though they are directly linked via screen #. Almost like the HMI froze up. Wonder if anyone had similar issue and what the solution might be. Thanks for your help.
  8. RSLogix 5000 firmware

hello, I want to ask, maybe some of you know about this, I want to take a program on compactlogix but it has a firmware version 19.xx while the rslogix application I have is version 21.xx, there are several options offered by the application to be able to take the program, update the firmware in compactlogix or downgrade the rslogixku application to version 19.xx. if i upgrade the firmware in compactlogix, what about the program is the program safe or not, and if i upgrade the firmware will the program in compactlogix work properly?

  14. I am new to automation systems and devices and I just want to know how to connect two HMI's (each one would control different things) to one PLC using Sysmac Studio and NB-Designer via Ethernet. The model of the PLC is NX1029020 and the HMI's are one NB10W-TW01B and an NB7W-TW01B. I searched for info about this topic online but I couldn't find anything that worked for me, I saw an article from OMRON where they connect two NB's to the CP series, but in my case, NB designer doesn't allow me to insert more than one HMI in the same project, I also found something similar on a youtube video that gave me an idea about how to connect multiple HMIs exporting the pks file and importing it to another HMI project but I still can´t figure out how to add both to my PLC. I would thank you a lot if you could help me with this because I know it's not a rare implementation, just I haven´t found the right way to do it. I also leave the links to the Omron article and the youtube video I found. https://www.myomron.com/index.php?action=kb&article=1554 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXx5lut7G9I
  15. Hey all, I am having some issues with a Keyence IV2 camera which has Ethernet/IP functionality.  To summarize briefly, it has been configured and reading the data into my PLC (NJ501) into a structure data type.  The issue I'm having is that I cannot control this on a bit level for triggering the camera, etc.  I was reading that a Union type is the way to go, but unfortunately, I stopped getting data into the PLC when setting it up that way.  According to the configuration guide for Rockwell and setting it up in the Network Configurator, I needed to go with the SINT type.  When registering the device, the 8-bit option was necessary since the Input/Output sizes needed to match.  This was predetermined by the EDS file for the IV2. I am stumped as to how to get the data to read into the Union Type, and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, -K
  16. WonderWare Help

Hi all, looking for some help. Have been using WonderWare since version 7.1. We currently use WonderWare 2020, but some of our products still require 2014 R2. Here lately, I have had trouble installing WonderWare 2014 R2 on Windows 10, specifically the SQL 2014 install. I have attached an image of the error message. I have tried multiple different methods to resolve the issue including pre-installing different versions of SQL Server. Thanks all!
  17. Hello, I have to make communication using Ethernet between omron CP1H and siemens s7-1500 plc. Do you anyone have experience with that?   Thanks for all responses.
  18. Understand service data

I have 0x4c requests from my ipc to the controller, with request path: Class - 0xB2, Instance - 0x004C. And 0x4c responses from the same path, and then "Command Specific Data": example 1 (of the command specific data): 0100a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00a6409d00 example 2: 0100a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00a7409d00 example 3: 0100a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00a8409d00 Looks like it always starts with 0100, then repeating some value. In the first one the repeating value is 00a6409d, and then in the end 00. Or maybe it's 01 and then just repeating values surrounded with 00 or something similar. Is it values surrounded with 00, written using little-endian? Does the variable in request have a name?
  19. PVP 6 firmware update

I've a PVP6 1250, firmware 10.001, need to flash this to take a FTV rev.12 project.  Downloaded the rev 12 firmware from the rockwell site (PVP6_700-1500_12.00-20200922), unzip, install, run controlflash and it does not see the new firmware.  ok, I see where the controlflash file needs to be a .DMK, this installed a .FUP file. Tried running controlflash plus, goes through its "loading firmware kits" and "building inventory" steps.  It does see the panelview but reports no firmware found. What am I missing, its been a handful of years since I've last done a panelview flash.  And of course I'm getting "now now now, fast fast fast, hurry, hurry, hurry, why isnt it done yet"
  20. I have 23 Micrologix 1400s and I want to take the same register, N100:99, out of each one and put in a single array in a CompactLogix L18ER. From what I have tried, it only seems like I can only map a range of integers, N100:77-N100:100, to the array and not an individual register to a particular element. (For example, mapping N100:99 from machine 16 to Selected_Model[15]) Can you map to individual elements in an array? If so, are there any instructions on how to do so? Thank you in advance for reading my post!
  21. Good day everyone, First post here so hopefully I'm not violating community guidelines in anyway. I've got a system that has some 50 odd Micrologix 1100 and 1400 in use and I'm currently working on setting up an auto timesync for all of them using just 1 of the PLCs that will be my master time PLC. So far I've put together the logic for all the message instructions with the corresponding IP of the slave devices. I'm running. Into an issue with not being able to terminate/break the message connection on a PLC that I have already synced. Is this even possible to do on the ML1100. Once I get to 16-17 messages DN it starts to ER and will not complete any further messages. What I have is a message instruction ladder with a timed trigger to activate a MSG and write the RTC data then time down and connect and write to the next and so on. When it triggers the message instruction of one PLC it also fires an OTE to trigger the BK of the previous message instruction. However it doesn't seem to be actually cutting the message connection and holds it persistent until a power cycle/download event.
