  2. Good morning guys,  in your experience what is the best way to syncrhonize a motor controlled in speed with an inverter and a motor controlled in position with a servo drive? Let me explaine better what is my situation: I have a belt running normally at a certain constant speed. in some moments, I would like to syncrhonize the speed according to an axis controlled from a servo. the command of a servo specific position target and of course speed and acceleration e deceleration rate. I would like to adjust the belt speed in way to follow as accurately as possible the servo movement. Thanks a lot Andrea

  5. Anyone possibly have software for the Mitsubishi Positioning module AD71 (SW0IX-AD71PE) ? It's a servo positioning module for A Series PLCs that can either be programmed by an old programming terminal or a DOS based program for PC. I think SW1IVD-AD71P could also workReally hoping to find the any compatible software for this controller. Maybe someone has leads?
  6. Hi all, I'm having an issue with one of the Kinetix6000 allen bradley servo drives on a filling line that I support. This particular servo motors controls the rotary movements of a series of pumps to ensure accurate dose timing. Every time that I start up the machine, the PLC (Controllogix L7 firmware v28) executes a homing sequence to ensure the servo finds its 0 point. However, the servo in question keeps getting an 'Overspeed Fault' (E55). So far in troubleshooting, we've basically changed every component. We replaced the drive, feedback cable to the drive, and even hooked up a new free-spinning motor directly to the drive. Every component change has resulted in the same Overspeed error shortly after the homing sequence starts. To try and rule out a mechanical issue, I even disabled the homing sequence in the PLC and tried to move the motor using Motion Direct Commands. Immediately after a MSO command, the drive faults out for OverSpeed even with no motion. The last bit of troubleshooting we swapped the position of two of the drives, but the same OverSpeed fault happened on the drive connected to the rotary movement motor. At this point, I'm even considering changing the sercos fibers and the Kinetix power rack. Has anyone experienced anything like this before, or have advice on what to try to make it work? Thanks in advance for all your help
  7. Hi guys, Has anyone ever implemented a Siemens S7 RFID tag reader into a Mitsubishi PLC system? Is this something that is fairly supported to be able to achieve? Or a right pain to set up?
  8. So I'm new to the automation scene and in my training I decided to setup a little test rig, plc, drive, servo, sensor, hmi...etc.  Everything is wired and hooked up. What I'm trying to do is simply get the servo to spin. here is a screenshot showing what I have. I think there are some flags on the servo itself that need to be set but I'm not sure how to do that. In Base(x) I have tried 0, 1, 4, 5, 35. Any help would be appreciated.
  9. Hi guys, im trying to redirect a screen when a bit is active in GT designer3. im still a beginner in the GOT. any help? regards, sathu.
  10. Hey Everyone,   My company decided to purchase a piece of equipment from China, and I have the pleasure of updating its terrible existing controls. We were given the PLC program by the manufacturer, so I was able to make my changes pretty easily - or at least that would be the case if I could actually connect to the dang thing. The source program is indeed openable and editable via GX developer (the original configuration shows it as an FX3). I figured connecting should be straightforward, but I was wrong.    I initially used a serial/usb converter that I've used on some older Allen Bradley equipment (which worked fine for that). However, after no luck using it on the "Mitsubishi", I purchased a different cable that I found recommended on this forum (Tripp Lite USA-19HS - https://www.alliedelec.com/product/tripp-lite/usa-19hs/70101537/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9iBBhCJARIsAE9qRtB_n8TVAnJdFyYokoEu42W6H6LaT4kVsgJQI1qvPUsUF3rFviKpbt0aApLHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). Still, no luck. I've tried 7E1 and every baud rate possible, as well as some other bit/parity configurations (and yes, I've verified that I'm using the right com port, as well as tried moving the converter to different ports and trying those). Nothing seems to go through.  I have almost no experience with Mitsubishi beyond a couple of FX5s (which have worked fine, but I connect to those via ethernet). Any help would be greatly appreciated; if I can't make these changes, I'm going to end up rebuilding the whole cabinet with a PLC I can rely on.   Thanks in advance.
  11. Hello,  Greetings everyone, I want to communicate RFID with Nexgenie 2K PLC via serial communication protocol (RS 422), I am using Codesys 2.3 software for the development, may I get any sample program regarding this or someone can suggest me how can I implement my program, Thanks in advance.
  12. Dear Mr. PLC forum members, I am brand new to the world of PLC’s and I am looking for advice on PLC platform selection for a device prototype. The proposed PLC is for a “smart” hydroponic system. Please see system I/O and other parameters below. Parameter 1: Price - I am self-funding this so price of PLC and software is important. Happy to spend ~$2000 for PLC; I/O cards and related hardware. Total prototype cost is around $15,000 including PLC. Parameter 2: Availability & Support in Australia. Parameter 3:Newbie Friendly: I intend to code the PLC myself and have never coded a thing in my life before.  Parameter 4:Discrete Outputs: 11; Discrete Inputs: 0; Analog Outputs: 2-3; Analog Inputs: 9  Parameter 5: Capability to extend to IOT for remote access control and monitoring (via cellular or wifi router)   As you can see, this is a relatively simple automation project. All my research seems to point to Automation Direct’s BRX PLC but I just wanted to get some suggestions and feedback before purchasing. Anything else that might suit my needs? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Bruce

  15. Hello All,   Semi-noob here with Mitsubishi PLCs. I'm starting a project in which we are upgrading an existing A Series PLC with the Q.  Is there a datasheet somewhere that lists compatible software within Mitsubishi's lineup? I had no luck in searching their site.   Also, (in the same project) the existing network uses DeviceNet. I have the Q series compatible card for that - but within what software does one configure the network?   Thank you.

  22. Hi all,  I want to ask some questions regarding Ethernet Communication with FX3U PLC series. I have 2 PLCs of FX3U series (FX3U-48M and FX3U-64M) and I want to monitor its data (input and output) using ethernet communication in real time. My questions are: 1. Does FX3U PLC have ethernet port so I can connect it directly to my Laptop/PC? 2. If no, do I need to use FX3U-ENET-ADP and can it be used for 2 PLC or only 1? 3. What software do I need to use to configure the communication between PLC and FX3U-ENET-ADP? 4. Does this configuration change the existing PLC program? 5. Can i transmit the data wireless-ly using some kind of ethernet to wifi adapter and what additional hardware do i need for that?
