  5. GOT Password lost

    Hi guys I require some assistance. A client of ours has a A975GOT-TBD-CH GOT/HMI which is password protected. They have now lost the password and they need to get the program of the HMI ASAP. Can you guys please give me some pointers on how to either reset the password, without losing the program or by-passing it or even cracking it. Thanks!  
  6. Dear  I have a Premium TSX P57 2634M , in module TSX DMY 28FK the red led Fault I/O starting blinked, general (shortcircuit, etc)  , all field connection was verified are  OK. Is possible reset the fault , without restart the PLC?   thanks in advance
  7. How can I do a hardware 'factory reset' on a Q UDE CPU .... NOT using any software such as GX Developer or Works? I understand in the 'Write to PLC' menu it's possbile to Clear / Format / Arrange PLC memory - this isn't what I'm asking for. Under normal circumstances we routinely reload the PLC code / parameters / intelligent function data all remotely from our offices to our customers facilities and all works well. With the newer Q UDE CPUs it is possible to scan the network and effectively do a remote bare-metal recover to a new CPU. If the Q UDE CPU became unresponsive I would like to know how to reset the CPU back to factory defaults. In this scenario we would be asking local site electricians to carry out this reset procedure - after which we would reload the code remotely from the office. Documentation says power down CPU remove BAT for > 10 mins. I’ve powered down, left in STOP state and removed BAT for 16hours - then tested this morning – IP / program perfect and online immediately without battery connected. This retention is a wonderful feature – but if I want to deliberately do a hardware factory reset how do I do it ?

  9. I hope I am posting this in the right location, I did not see any sub forums specific to Rockwell or Factorytalk. We are finally converting from XP to Windows 7! WOO-Hoo! It has gone fairly well but I see one issue that has me concerned and I would like to resolve it now; my application converted fine except my translations did not come across. We have two base applications we build off of that correspond to the type of machine they are used for; both support multiple languages which are selectable with an on screen VBA based button that does a bit and language change in the background. One application supports English and Russian while the other is English and Spanish. I have tried doing the import on Windows 7 in both languages related to the application I am working with and the alternate language (in this case it is Russian) never comes across. I have tried both the direct copy and .apa methods with the conversion and the results are the same. Is there a step I am missing during the conversion process or will I have to export my languages from 6.0 and import them to 8.0 separately after conversion? I am not thrilled about this process as it never seems to keep the proper layout of the text when imported. I assume the issue is the conversion process as I can load the .apa on a fresh XP build and the languages are both present.
  10. I believe I have found a bug in FactoryTalk View ME version 8.10. I have a trend object that uses parameter file placeholders on the connections tab. These are direct-addressed to the shortcut ie {[PLC]...}. The historical data from the datalog does not show. (The pens write lines, but when I navigate away from the screen and come back, the lines are gone and begin drawing again from the right side.) The current data does show. This tells me that the placeholders are correct syntax. When the screen loads, the placeholders are being replaced by a string which yields a correct tag path, or else the pens would not be writing correct data. When I replace the placeholders manually and directly address the tag, the historical data does show correctly. This tells me that the datalog is set up correctly and is logging data. I have verified that a previous project of mine, using I believe version 6.0, successfully used this method of using one screen and one trend to plot various tags using parameter placeholders, and the historical data did show correctly.
  11. Hi All, Thanks to all who helped with my first post - how to get started with a second-hand CPM1A PLC.  Thought I should now start a more specific thread. I now have Syswin 3.4 running in Windows xp mode in Windows Virtual PC, I think I have a Chinese USB-CIF02 comms cable/adapter and drivers correctly installed in Win xp mode.  The PLC powers up with the PWR and RUN LEDs lit.  The USB adapter TX LED flickers when I use the Syswin comms test function, indicating that Syswin is talking to the adapter.  But having tried 128 combinations of comms protocol and unit address at 9600 baud without success, I believe there are now two possibilities. First, while Syswin is sending something to the USB adapter, it may not be 'talking' correctly to the PLC .OR. the PLC is set for some unusual communications settings for reasons unknown, that I may never be able to stumble upon.  Both possibilities could be eliminated if I could return the PLC to the factory default state, with a known comms setup. However, it seems the comms settings in DM words are stored in Flash memory and can only be changed if I can 'talk' to the PLC - Catch 22?  I can find no sign of any DIP switches or hardware reset button etc.  Surely there must be some way to clear the flash memory to return the device to the factory default state?  All suggestions gratefully received.   20. Hello! I am programming with FT view studio version 8. In the program, when I make numeric display, I can not input values for this tag I am using in the display. Then I decided to make 'invisible button' for enabling the input for this tag which is shown in the numeric display. This is okey for me, only if there is other ways to do this please tell me. Now when I have created this numeric display with input enabling -'group', I have a problem, how can I use security levels for this group, so that only logging in values can be set? I have found that there is security code selection for this in the screen displays, but not for the buttons.
  21. Hello A-B Guru's, I have a small station with a Micrologix 1000 controller in it. Keep getting a "Major Halt Error S:1/13, Invalid STI interrupt set point. Refer to S:30." It is a very simple program, not using the STI instruction. Have a filter on the processor power. Nothing crazy going on, on the station, no big coils, etc. What can I do to prevent this fault from occurring? Can I add a line of code to always unlatch S:30? What should I do? Please help.
  22. CPM1A Backup/password

    Hi all, I hope one of you kind people could help me: I have an Omron CPM1A CPU where the outputs are damaged. I have a new blank CPU and I would like to transfer the program, however, the UM is read-protected. The backup tool doesn't seem to cater for the CPM1A. Is there any other way the program could be transferred? The customer does not have the program or the password. I do not believe that I am interfering with any intellectual rights here because the OEM are long since departed and all I want to do is transfer the program, not modify it. Many thanks in advance.     Hai All, I have proble on the PLC (CJ1G), this PLC used on the Wrench....When I operate the wrench...the indicator lamp of the Digital Output already light...but there is no voltage on the terminal of Digital output... And I want to ask, how to know the diagram ladder because the supplier of the wrench dont gived PLC Password to us...can I see the diagram ladder without password? Thank you....
  24. Several years ago before I arrived at my company, an integrator came in to do the automation on our system. They used a Controllogix 1756-L61S for the safety portion of the project. Apparently, when they completed the job they did not provide the source code with comments, safety password, etc. for anything and it got ugly between our company and theirs. In other words, they would not provide it if we went back to ask them. Allen Bradley has told us that we can not make any alterations now to the safety logic because we do not have the password that was used to create it. And they said there is no longer a master password that you could use like in previous controllers. Does anybody know of any workarounds for this? Or have heard of anything that might possibly work?
  25. I am using TIA portal to make HMI screens for a KTP700 BASIC HMI panel. I am using the built-in password protection pop-up screen. Is it possible to change the font size of text items on the password protection screen? The text, and the user and password fields are a bit small. I would like to make them bigger. Thanks in advance.
