  1. Salutations! So recently I'm very confused with my CX-Programmer. Everytime I tried to run the Simulator from CX-Programmer, I always got a notice that a certain program called KickEngine.exe is about to Run. I look up for this program and found it inside CX-Simulator folder, so I decide to run it anyway. The problem is the simulator always return the error : "The selected port does not exist". In other words I cannot run the simulation. I understand that the simulator uses ControllerLink comm. between CX-Programmer and CX-Simulator, so I tried to run those two separately and build the connection, but also to no avail. Even so, since CX-Programmer 9.0, I believe there is no need to run the programs separately. Before I had a similar problem where the simulator cannot be run, and the error code is "Failed to Start Ladder Engine". This was solved by removing whole Omron software using CX-Remover, then reinstalling again. However, it doesn't solve the current problem. If possible I don't want to resort to reinstalling the whole OS... T_T Anyone has suggestions or ideas? I had lookup on an older thread and tested the measure taken there, and didn't solve this. Thanks!
  2. Gx Simulator3 and TCP modbus

Hi, I'm new to the Mitsubishi world, so may be anyone help me in a quick! I need to test a my client with the Mitsubishi MODBUS tcp.  To do this I would like to avoid use a real plc and use  the Gx Simulator3 that come with the Gx Works3. The question is: the Gx Simulator3 is capable to simulate a MODBUS tcp module? To be more specific I tried this: - created a project in  Gx Works3 with a FX5U CPU. - configured the FX5U built-in ethernet module with IP address of the hosting pc (also tried 127.0.0.1 with no success). - activated and configured the MODBUS muster to the built-in ethernet module. - wrote a trivial ladder program with a 1 input and 1 coil. I can download and run the project on the Gx Simulator3 but I cannot connect to tcp port 502 that I supposed opened by the MODBUS muster functionality of the build-in ethernet module. Do anyone know if the Gx Simulator is able to simulate modbus tcp functionality?   Thanks in Advance Luciano.
  3. Hello. I start learn GXW3  and i have problem with simulation. I trying to connect GT Simulator with GX simulator 3, but it's doesn't work. GT Simulator 3 easy connecting with GX Simulator and GX Simulator 2 and it's working. So i can't say that problem in GT Simulator 3, but GX Simulator 3 works too, when i starting it. All software configurated without any errors (IQW,GTW3,GXW3). I using GX Works3 1.026C, GT Designer3 1.151H, IQ works (melsoft navigator) 2.12N.   All time when trying to connect, popups this msg. Settings of GTS3 Note from HELP. Does someone know how fix this problem?
  4. Real world simulator

When we simulate a plc program we have to manually input the changes in input(like magnetic reed switch) For example when a cylinder goes from up to down reed turn OFF and reed down turns ON Is there any program available where we can define such things that will turn on and off during the process automatically.
  5. KINCO PLC as MODBUS RTU slave

Hello to everyone. I hope you are doing well. I'm trying to establish a communication between my PC and my KINCO PLC. The manual states it supports MODBUS RTU protocol, so I downloaded two different Modbus Master simulator I found out: Multiway from OMRON and qModMaster. None of them seem to work properly. I attached some pictures of the messages I get. https://ibb.co/f1mCSNt Multiway message https://ibb.co/bP5cX1t qModMaster message I include the configuration of the communication parameters. https://ibb.co/nMty8D9 PLC parameters https://ibb.co/6RTqVfC Multiway parameters https://ibb.co/N1XTccd qModMaster parameters According to the manual, in order to play the role of Modbus master with the PLC it's necessary to configure some instruction blocks (I'm programming in ladder). However, I could not find any block to configure as Modbus slave. I don't know what else I can do. I'm in trouble with this task. Am I making some mistake? Thanks for your attention.  Kind regards!
  6. Hi. When i run the plc in the simulator, only certain stuff seems to work, most logic seems to work. Timers seems to refuse to start at all, the sim is in RUN mode using Sysmac 1.45 Standard edition.
  7. Hi Everyone, I am creating some IAG's in Sysmac Studio for an NA Series HMI. I have found that I can do an NA Simulation in the IAG program (it just brings up the HMI simulator screen, with the IAG in the top left corner). This has been useful for ensuring I have the correct size/scale of buttons and text etc for the HMI I will be using. I have also been trying to use the watch tab to put some dummy data into the simulated IAG, primarily to ensure that custom text formats etc are working properly. However when I change the value of variables in the watch tab, nothing changes on the simulator screen. The variables are all members of a structure, and datatypes used include Boolean, Single, and String. Is this normal behaviour for IAG simulations? Basically, I was trying to test all my formatting etc before I publish the collection (there will be about a dozen IAG's in this collection once it is complete). If there is another way to do this, then I am open to ideas. Worst case I can just publish the collection, import it into the HMI program, do a heap of simulations and then go back to fix any issues with the IAG's before republishing them again. I would post a couple of screenshots, but the website isn't letting me upload anything
  8. Hi  I want to simulate my program with ccw free version downloded, but i always have this message: The Ethernet Ip port (44818)  is not available because it is already allocated by: RsLinxNG. Did someone have a solution please?.
  9. Simulate Omron FINS PLC server

Hi, I am new in working with Omron PLC. I would like to know if there is a way to simulate an OMRON FINS SERVER to test a desktop application for simple command like READ_MEMORY_AREA, READ_CLOCK... 10. PLC TCP/IP simulator

Hello. I'm developing NS5 HMI visualization. The display is using TCP/IP comunication.  (IP: 192.168.1.21) communicating with PLC (IP: 192.168.1.20 - my PC) I would like to start PLC (CJ2M) simulator on my PC (IP: 192.168.1.20) so that HMI would comunicate with my PS (PLC Slave simulator) Does the simulator exists? Thanks. BR, Andrej.
  11. Hi, is it possible to communicate between the Sysmac studio simulator and the CX-Programmer simulator? I want to test the exchange of data between a NX1P2 and a CJ2H, but I don't have the controllers with me. Thanks and have a great day!
  12. I have recently come across a free virtual plc simulator called PLC Fiddle. It will enable you to create simple PLC ladder logic code within your browser. This is an ideal way in understanding PLC concepts for industrial automation. All of the basic PLC instructions that come with most plc units have been incorporated in this virtual PLC software.PLC Fiddle is currently in an early stage of development but is functional enough to be helpful to you in learning and understanding PLC concepts.  http://accautomation.ca/plc-fiddle-online-editor-and-simulator-in-your-browser/ YouTube Video: https://youtu.be/G43ZLOwu2dM www.plcfiddle.com Let me know what you think of this for a learning tool. Thanks, Garry
  13. CX-Simulator

Hi guys, Do you have experience or know any good guides to set up a simulation case like this: - Simulating a PLC program such that the "PLC" is accessible on the Ethernet (for example just locally). - In addition, setting up the PLC settings with FINS protocol such that it is possible to write to the PLC with FINS protocol from another device. The first part is  most important. Best regards PC_VS_PLC

  15.   A new free Modbus RTU/TCP slave simulator tool - Unslave - has been released. It is focused on simplicity, usability and ease of setup. Instead of a GUI it supports flexible JSON-based configuration, where you setup slaves like this: "slaves": {     "1": {         "isOnline": true,         "registers": {             "HR0": 1,             "HR10": "0x0A",             "C0": true,             "C999": {exception: 3}         }     } } This type of configuration has great benefits - you can easily switch between different setups by specifying a different configuration file: unslave.exe newConfig.json You can put the configuration under source control and track changes. Unslave lets you configure any number of slaves, setup values of every Modbus register, setup Modbus exceptions. In addition, Unslave displays and write to a file the logs of all communications on the link. This is very useful for debugging: 2017/06/06 17:21:54.310 - TRACE: Byte received: 1. 16. FinsGateway

I need to connect cx-simulator to Exor JMobile runtime, this runtime have ETH fins protocol to communicate with Omron PLCs. And with real PLC it's works. But I need to test programms with cx-simulator. And here I have problem. Googling and reading cx-simulator's documentation said me, that I need FinsGateway application. But it's old software. And Omron said that new is cx-compolet. But I can't find nor Finsgateway nor Cx-compolet. Does anyone have this programms? Or mayby knows how to connect cx-simulator with my Runtime.

  19. From what I can tell, there is no built-in PLC simulator within RS Logix 5000, and I have to download a separate package that requires another licence to be paid for?   Is that really the case??

  22. Siemens PLC

Hi guys , Greetings to all and a Merry Christmas to the moderators of this forum, I am relatively new to the S7 plc programming but i had some basic troubleshooting and very basic programming while i was a technician over at a MNC running some moulding machines. I wish to rekindle my interest on S7. I wish to simulate the outputs using a simulator so that i can test my ladder programs without the need of a plc controller. I have managed to obtain a S7 software and i have installed it in my laptop running windows xp sp3. The software that i have installed is a S7 V5.4 SP3, no issues in the installation here. And i have also installed a S7PLC Sim Version 5.4. I hope anyone here can guide me on how to test a simple ladder prgrm and see the simulated results. How do i configure my laptop and how to set pg/pc interface and so on? I did try something on my own but when i try to add the plcsim v5.x into the list of modules installed i get an error stating " S7einstx.dll module can't be started. I humbly request that someone here can point me to the right direction or so? Thank you and have a nice day. Rgds Ruben
