  1. Hi friends, I am a little new to WinCC. I am using a WinCC RT Advanced license within TIA portal v13.1 I need a little help in my current project as described below. I am attempting to create a faceplate of a solenoid valve,, The "Valve" is a user-defined data-type with the following 4 elements 1. Cmd - or command. - Bool 2. Cls_Fb - or Closed -Feedback -Bool. 3. Aut - or Automatic Mode -Bool 4. FTC - Fails to close -Bool. I tried the following procedure as described in TIA portal help.. Method -1 1. I created a User-defined data type called Valve comprising of the above 4 bool elements. 2. In the graphics I made a image of solenod valve with one rectangle (solenoid) and one polygon for valve body. 3. Under the Faceplate Properties (See figure attached) I inserted a property ang gave it the data-type Valve as above. However, when I drag a property from the 'Contained objects list' to the interface side, it is not getting substituted. such as the Rectangle_1 's background color I try to associate with the interface property Valve.Cmd. It does not get assigned when dragged. Since this does not work I tried another approach, Method -2 I attempted to declare a variable tag of UDT type 'valve' in the faceplate's tab Tags. I found that it is not possible to declare a local variable of User-defined types here. Please guide me how to proceed. Thanks for looking in and best wishes for your success. Regards, Raj S. Iyer
  2. Hi friends, Can anybody tell me when to use a local-Static variable and when to use a Local Temp variable whilst creating a Function-Block in S7 -1500 using TIA portal. Thanks for looking in. Best wishes.
  3. Serie L and Modbus TCP

Hi, We have to use a modbus tcp in orden to configurate several festo motor controllers via modbus tcp, We are going to use an L02P CPU because mitsubishi says modbus tcp protocol is implemented in its ethernet port. With FX3u we can use the function ADPRW, Is there any special function in serie L por modbus tpc? thanks in advance. pd: Any experience with MODBUS TCP with a GOT14?
  4. CJ1W-TC001 PID question

What is Omron naming convention for PID settings? I need to adjust the upper MV limits for PID running on CJ1W-TC001 installed on CJ1M-CPU13. Looking at the CJ1W-TC001 Operation Manual I am not really sure which values would these be. I guess Omron naming nomenclature is a bit different than what I am used to. It seems that the Manipulated Value Monitor is just feedback, which value would I need to set or modify to adjust the upper MV limit?
  5. Hey All, I am trying to do some data storing on a PanelView+ and the built in data logging doesn't quite fit my needs. I was looking into the possibility of creating my own ActiveX control for doing this. Is it possible to create custom ActiveX controls for Factory Talk? If so, are there any tutorials for doing so you recommend? Also, are there any sites that have custom ActiveX controls to download? I realize this may not be the easiest thing to do, but if I could create my own I could use it for various machines and would make things a lot simpler in the long run. Thanks
  6. Hello, I am having troubles configuring my Data Station Plus to be able to read my Vacon VFD registers over a Profibus network. The network is configured from an Omron PLC. I have communication but i do not know how to map the tags on Crimson to be able to read what the drives are doing. I am most likely thinking my offset on the tags that i have set are the main problem. Any input/ suggestion would be great thanks Specs on System: -Omron PLC CJ2M w/profibus PRM21 -Omron HMI NS-12 -3 Vacon NX VFD's -Data Station Plus w/profibus module
  7. Hello all, I am trying to get around a lot of manual inputting by exporting a routine and opening it using excel, but looking at the file that excel shows I have a couple fundamental questions 1. when excel opens it and "creates a schema', can I save this in a format that will allow me to import it back into the program? 2. Since I am mapping data using add on instructions, the table excel has created becomes quote complex, with no clear point of reference to where my Input tags are going to go. We are doing this because someone thought it would be a good idea to put a SCADA based control platform over the top of an AB control system, so we have to exchange thousands of points of data back and forth with their system. I created the mapping AOI blocks to be able to manage the file structure a little better in the routines, but that still leaves me with copy and paste thousands of tags into the AOIs. Has anyone developed a good way to create logic, or modify logic using excel? While I can hold my own with utilizing the RS5000 platform, my excel experience is limited. The processor is a 1756-L75 Thanks

  9. I am getting this error. How to resolve this?
  10. Good day I have a scenario where I need to connect to Ethernet ST-lite units to an L-series PLC. With a Q-series you will use the Modbus card and create a Intellgent Function Module to do this and specify the header addressing for the unit. With the L-series, you have Modbus on the build-in Ethernet port, but how do I now setup and specify the addressing for the for the ST-lite unit? Please help...
  11. On Ethernet/Modbus-TCP, if a device is a Master, can it get polled by another Master? i.e. Can it act as a slave as well. Thanks, Arun
  12. Is possible to comunicate an Eaton/Cutler Hammer INCOM/IMPACC network with a Modbus network ? Any experience ? Many thanks in advance.
  13. http://accautomation.ca/now-you-can-have-robust-data-logging-for-free-part-1/ YouTube overview: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Xa2HYVOxE0 Robust PLC Data LoggerWith traditional loggers, software will read the memory of the PLC and store in a local computer. If the network stops or the PLC communication fails then the logging will stop.Creating a robust PLC data logger allows the communication to be stopped for a period of time without losing any of the data for collection. This is accomplished by storing the data locally on the PLC until communication is restored. All of the data is then read without loss. The amount of time that the connection can be lost will be dependent on the memory size of the PLC and the frequency of the data collected. This series will walk you through the steps to create and implement a robust PLC data logger using the following equipment and hardware. Automation Direct – Do-More – H2-DM1E PLC (Ethernet Modbus TCP)Do-more Designer 1.3 (Simulator instead of PLC mentioned above)Windows based computer running IISVisual Basic 6Regards, Garry http://www.accautomation.ca

  15. I have a PLC that i just had to replace the old PLC was an Omron FA-350A the new PLC is a CMP1A-40CDR-A-V1. The programs are almost identical however there are some I/O changes that will need made. I am used to allen bradley PLC's and this is my first time using CX-Programmer. The PLC came preloaded with what was supposed to be the correct program although almost all of the I/O was programmed to the same addresses. I have no idea how the Addresses are structured. Would anyone be able to explain them or point me to a resource. There are also some 200.XX addresses are those bit storage locations? Thank you, Mike
  16. Hi dear all , i need some helping .. I used CJ2M cpu31, then i want to send data (example D100 = 2000) to PC ...essentially i want send value 2000 to my PC.. wherein the PC and PLC conect via internet IP .. What should tool/software may i used ? Thanks before ..
  17. I have never worked with Point IO and wonder how the addressing for inputs and outputs are assigned? Is there a way to tell the PLC what addresses should be used for IO on the remote? I am planning to use the following: 1734-AENT 1734-OW4 1734-OW4 1734-IE4C

There are two Proficy ME projects in the zip file one for VersaMax and one setup for 90-30 CPU364 but is the same for all of the 90-30 processors, but read the Manual GFK-2220 to get the correct port information for your CPU and configuration. They are both working and well documented. They were done quite a while ago but I do not recall what version of PME is needed to open them. It is my recommendation that we all use the latest version. Good luck and have fun with it. R~ <))>(

  20. Hi everyone, I'm facing problems implementing the Easy modbus-rtu master solution kindly provided by PMCR. i'm working with a CJ2M, and i have a SCU41-v1 connected to 5 AC10 series Parker drives, using modbus at Port 1 (Protocol Macro as indicated in the manual- 2 wire). Everything works ok after powering up the system. Unfortunately, after a few minutes, one of the parker drives freezes communication. An hour later....another. And so on. If I reboot the drive, powering it off and on, it starts communicating again. Any ideas about what might be causing this? Thanx.
  21. Hi everyone, I want to connect Allen Bradley 1756-L63 cpu (slave) via RS-232 port to ABB CI-853 (I don't have Prosoft MVI-56-MCM that can easily solve my situation). The only way that I found is application ModbusSlave.ACD (cig-ap129_-en-p.pdf). Do I need AIC+ converter (1761-NET-AIC) or can I connect with cable (DB9-to-RJ45)? Is there another way to make this connection? Regards, Luka
  22. I have the following situation; I have a distribution network connecting about 400 RTUs, using 101 protocol to connect to their PDH MUX, which data slot is transported using SDH STM-1/4, to the Primary Substations. Then the primary substations connect to the LDC building using STM-16. At the Control Centre Building where the Front End is located, there is a STM-16 node with some PDH ports, but definetly not 400, so how can I extract this 101 asyncronous data channels to connect them to the SCADA Front End? Note that conversion to 104 is not allowed by the client. Thanks in advance!
  23. Im trying to control a baldor VFD trough modbus RTU with cp1h/cp1wcif12 using the solution posted here which for me works really fine but the problem comes when I turn on the motor (500hp 440v), the cable gets induced and adds noise to the communication causing errors when reading. I already try to use shielded cable and it gets better but still causing errors. In the solution posted in the link above shows how to connect the cp1w-cif12 by connecting only SDA- and SDB+. So my question is, should I connect FG to the VFD rs-485 ground as well to reduce that noise? Any suggestions are welcome
  24. 4 cpus cp1e and 1 hmi beijer over rs485

Hi i want to connect all 4 cpus(cp1e 40s) to the hmi(beijer ixt10a) over rs485. I don't want the cpus to communicate each other, but i need all of them to exchange data with the hmi. How can i do that. Do i have to make master/slaves and from the polled plc to exchange all the data or if i don't set up anything in the plc's i can communicate each one with the hmi if i set the nodes to each plc and the hmi(for four controllers). I mean i will just wire them and set the hmi that there are 4 controllers, i will set node 0,1,2,3 and after set the hmi to these nodes. Is it going to be any problem between the plcs that aren't programmed to communicate each other and will be wired with rs485? Thanks
