  1. I've found very similar errors, but not exactly this one. Does anyone have any insight on how to remedy this? I'm using Factory talk and RSLogix5000.
  2. I'm having a difficult time updating some HMIs on a production floor using both Rslogix5000 and EzwarePlus. I've exported my CSV from RS, and in the importation stage, it shows I have no tags. However literally everything on the screen is already linked up to tags. When selecting an objects properties and clicking tags there, everything shows up. When in the address library nothing shows up, and my CSV after clicking import, does nothing.  Is there something brutally straight forward here that I'm just missing?

  3. Clearing an Array in RSLogix

    I'm having a tough time clearing the entirety of an array. I've tried using the copy function, the clear, the fill and the the file synchronous copy functions. I'm solely trying to copy 0's into the entirety of a 20 tag array. Example Tag[0] to tag[20]. I saw another thread here: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?/topic/14678-clearing-an-array-in-rslogix-5000/  However, that didn't help me. Anyone have any shortcuts here?  Thanks so much in advance!
  4. Hi guys! Can anybody help me? I have an existing controlnet network. How can I connected a new module? Like an 1794 IB16. What should I need to do after I connected the new module? One more question: What's the difference if I do not connected the new module right after the last module, but I connected between already existing module. Then what should I need to configure. If anybody want to help, please write like step by step. I'm a beginner, but I want to imporve myself. Thank you for your help. I almost forget, I need to work with Allen-Bradley PLC, and I have RSLogix 5000 software.
  5. Hi Guys! I have a problem with Motion axis move (MAM) command. There is an Allen bradley servo motor what is working well. But I need to add a new program section, wich is in  a specified moment, the axis should move a certain distance. I think I need to use the mam command, just I dont know how can I configure the motion control part. I need to make a new tag ? or what ? I need to use a user define ? PLS help me.   
  6. Any new tags I add in studio 5000 the HMI project shortcut cannot locate the tags, it says unresolved route to processor. It's the same shortcut all of the other tags are using. Please help.

Hey everyone first post on here, does anyone know if it is possible to convert a string into a double integer. i am working with a dimensioner and it is sending me its box dimensions in a 12 char string (see attached picture). however i need this data as a double integer (it seems to just take the string length not the string value i have tried both dim_lengh and dim_length.data[0]). i have gotten it down to the point where i have the string split up into the dimensions i need but i dont know how to do the conversion. (box dims for reference are 21 X 15 X 14.8) Thanks in advance, Dr. Brule  
  8. Hi PLC programmers, I got a problem regarding my installation of Logix Designer/Logix5K. Here's the situation... a) Initially installed Studio 5000 without problem. b) I needed to open a program from Logix v20.1, installed RSLogix5k v20.1. After installing v20.1, RSLogix was corrupted and won't open program. c) Reinstalled entire Logix Software. d) Was able to open and convert program from Logix5k v20.1 to Logix Designer v24 but this annoying error occured on v24 (See attached "EN2T")... "Failed to Create Module Profile". All of a sudden, the module (1756-EN2T) I created with working v24 is no longer usable. Now, even when I create a new project, add a module with "Select Module Type", the list of available modules has been trimmed down to what it normally has (see attached "AB_Modtype"). Kept on re-installing entire Logix 3 times, clearing the registry with CCleaner and even deleted installation folder for Rockwell software but the problem is never gone. I even downloaded AOP for EN2T and installed it but to no avail. Now I'm lost and dumbfounded that uninstalling and reinstalling isn't working. By the way the OS I'm using is "Windows 7 Enterprise".   9. Hi there, I am trying to create an Add=On Instruction to help me manage some alarm conditions in my application. My AOI has one Boolean output that is used for messaging on the HMI, but I'd like to also have another output (Boolean or integer) that would be attached to o global parameter so that if any alarm is activated, it will create a master alarm that can be used for machine control, and possibly messaging. The reason for this is that I may have numerous alarms and I'm trying to avoid having to create a series chain of all those alarms to turn on a master alarm. My thought was that if I can get any alarm to make a global parameter go true, then I don't have to manage other bits if I delete or add an alarm block. I'm having trouble coming up with a way to create that output that I can have load a TRUE value into a global parameter, though.  I was trying to use an integer so that I could just load a '1' into the variable if any alarm goes off, and a master reset would reset the value to zero. But I'm apparently not setting up the AOI parameters just right. Has anyone got a suggestion of how I can do this? I can share my block if that would help, it's nothing special, just a way for me to condense alarming features and this one seems to be a little tricky. Thanks for your suggestions!

Now i have some turbo machinery there logix develop in RSLogix 5000 version 20. If i install version 20 on my workstation is previous activation work or need to activate it separately?   13. Good evening everyone.   I just recently tried to get into the whole RSLogix Emulate 5000 setup, for training purposes and setup. In our AB Software directory I found and installer for RSLogix Emulate 5000 (which was located in the installer directory of 21.03.01 Firmware support. I’m not sure if I installed it correctly, but it wasn’t part of the installer, as it had Its own installer which I ran and received following error:   Running setup.exe: The files for installation requirement Rockwell Automation Driver Package x64 could not be found. The installation will now stop. This is probably due to a failed, or canceled download.   Running RSEmulate 500.msi: 1.       A severe error occurred while using our EDS services component. Contact Rockwell Automation Support for Assistance.   After clicking OK, the installation continues nevertheless, but throws the following error: 2.       RegOpenKeyEx-1 failed. (Window Titlebar reads C:\Windows\ Installer\MSIC5F8.tmp)   However, the installation continues and doesn’t fault out, but when I try to start the emulator I get: Unable to read Virtual Backplane status. Please make sure that RSLinx Classic is installed and the Virtual Backplane driver is running. Click OK to terminate the Chassis Monitor.   I do have RSLinx Classics installed (Revision 3.90.00 CPR 9 SR 9) and running with the mentioned driver. However I also do know that the manual of the emulator reads that it can not be installed on a PC where SofLogix5800 controller is installed.   Looking ath the Installed Controller Support I see that SoftLogix5800 support is enabled by my RSLogix 5000 install, I just don’t know how to uninstall it, or if that is the reason, why my Emulator doesn’t install & run properly.   I unfortunately can not afford Rockwell Support, otherwise I would call there to find answers.     Please advise of what else I could try.

  16. We had to migrate over to a different domain and all of a sudden my Transaction Manager asking for a username and password and I have no clue what it is.  Any ideas on what could have caused this and why this is popping up?

  20. I am currently working on a fwd rev motor control routine, we have all of the circuit wired up and verified the physical circuit is working as intended when manually jumped. But will not turn the outputs on...  I triple checked my logic and it all seems right, all inputs are true all the way to the output on both the fwd and rev rungs. But still the outputs won't go true. if I toggle an output bit it does show up on the dc out card, I haven't tried forcing anything.  No errors or warnings, fuses are fine. our teacher does not help as much as we'd like and we have troubleshot just about everything we can think of with our experience.    Any input would be appreciated, thanks.
  21. I am trying to learn the logic of a process at my new job. There are tag names that I can't make sense of because they end with _xva, _xvb, _xvu, _xvd, _xvo, _xvc, _zsm, _zsu, _zsc, _zso, _zsd and so on and so forth. I know they are associated with motion, but I need to make better sense of them. There are no descriptors. What do they mean and is there a resource available that I can reference?

Dear all, I have 1794 IE8H Hart flex input module to which one Emerson HART flowmeter is connected...I have gone manual of flex module...I have to write program to read 3 parameters from HART transmitter in RSlogix 5000 (compactlogics)....in manual there are so many & geeting confused how to get this...even got sample code from rockwell site...but still nt working...If anyone have any proper document to follow please suggest or mail me on gspatil555@gmail.com.....thanks.
  23. Dear Friends; Good day. First i install the windows  virtual xp mode on Windows 7 64 bit. After installation i installed the FTM, RSLINK,and rslogix 5.0 in virtual xp mode.  Then i activate the software by Factory talk manager and select the hard disk and for a single computer activation. This process successfully acomplished. But when i open the RSLOGIX it shows popup that activation path is not found. Then i again open the factory talk tool and note that there is no activation shows in current activate products, But the activation detail shows in the RE host tab. I re hosted the activation by using go to Rockwell site and message show successfully activation re hosted.   *** Now i am stuck here is i loss my activation?  *** in windows xp virtual mode how i activate my product that application find the correct path of activation file? ** In windows xp mode if i open my Computer there is shows other hard drive partition as well as Local disk C:\  and activation file save in virtual drive instead of real C drive in windows 7. But there is no file path option to save the activation. Its by default save on C:\documents and setting\all user\shared documents\rockwell\activation\*****   Please help me how i activate my product in windows XP mode successfully?  Thanking you. i will remain Regards

I was practicing some concepts on concurrency in periodic tasks where I handle such using SSV instruction to inhibit tasks, as suggested by Logix5000 Programmer Manual and after I downloaded the program through ethernet cable to the PLC (Compact Logix L32E) it became impossible to communicate to it, showing 1789 Virtual Chassis in the Who Active Window isntead of the PLC I'm using. I tried to reconfigure it using RSLinx and serial cable but I had no success, the only solution was reset it by removing its batery. I was wondering what could have caused the problem.   25. Hello All! I am having difficulties mapping register values. In the TURCK register there are 24 unique register bytes corresponding to different value registers (8bit x 24). These 24(8bit) bytes were mapped into RSLOGIX 5000 as 12(16bit) INT words ....INT[12] .. This means there are 2 bytes (2 unique register values) inside each INT word. WHAT I NEED TO ACHIEVE: 1. (BLUE outline in drawing) Write/Map a value of "32" into byte 7 of the TURCK register so effectively starting at  INT[5].8 in RSLOGIX           Drawing1-Model.pdf This will enable the value of CNT1 (encoder count) to be registered in bytes 8-11... 2.  (PINK outline in drawing) READ/MAP the values registered in bytes8,9,10 and 11(4x8bits) into a SINGLE 32bit INT value which will tell me the CNT1 value of my encoder. I am having problems when ever I try to COP a value of 32 (no matter what kind of array it's sourced from) into INT[5].8 & I haven't tried to map/read the values of bytes 8-11 CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP EXPLAIN HOW TO ACHIEVE THIS?!
