  1. G9SP Configurator

I am at a client site that has a line with multiple Omron G9SP-N20S safety controllers installed and I need to make a modification to the system.  I tried to install the Omron Configurator and it asks for a serial number, and will not install without one.  Omron said that it is on the CD that ships with the unit, but the equipment manufacturer did not supply any of the CDs.  The only Omron solution is to order a replacement CD, that will take 5 days, which is 5 days too long as there is a hard stop in 2 days.  I have tried entering numbers found on the controller, with no success.  Does anyone have a better way, special contacts at Omron, to et it faster?
  2. Here is a post that we recently completed on the Automation Direct USB to RS485 Adapter.  The USB-485M is a 2-wire USB to RS-485 serial communication adapter for RS485 use. It does not require an external power supply or complicated configuration. It has a Type A (plug) USB connector for the computer side and a universal female RJ45/RJ12 modular connector. This will accept RJ12 and RJ45 plugs.  The USB-485M supports multiple baud rates and is USB V2.0 Compliant. Read the rest of the post... 3. I am trying to get a G9SP taking over serial to a NX1P2 using a NX1W-CIF01.  I have the details in Manual P545-E1 and it uses a example file which i am unable to locate OMRON_G9SP_SERI232_LD_EV100.SMC I have got the coms working with a CP1L using the example in Manual Z922-E1.  I was wondering if anyone has the example file or a working example they can share for Sysmac Studio. The serial comms will take a little bit to get going but it is the code for the checksum for the sending data that i would rather not have to translate from CX Programer fort he CP1L to Sysmac Studio...... 4. Sorry for my bad english speaking. I want to change the baud rate to 19200,38400,.... for send it via Programmer-Serial-Port. The software GX-Developer can do it!.
  5. Hello all,  There are two pressure gauges in a line with a flow of water. The flow is controlled by the pumps which is controlled by the PID whose control variable is pressure gague -2 . In ideal condition the pressure gauge -2 remains at 55 psi and pressure gauge -1 stays at 82 PSI. But in the line if someone opens a manual valve then pressure gauge - 1 reads 100 psi because the pump is running as per pressure gauge 2 . Is is possible to clamp the PID so that pressure gauge 1 remains at 82 psi.    FYI: Pressure gauge 1 is right after the pumps and pressure gauge 2 is at the end of the line.
  6. hello everyone, I using stepper 17HS2408, microstep driver, modul motion QD75D2, PLC QD3UDV,, i've been trying to use program Absolute in axis 2. When I trigger the command to run absolute program the current value is running but the stepper motor still not moving, is there any suggestion about this?
  7. Hello, I've been using Mitsubishi and Omron systems separately (in their own environment), and I am fairly new when it comes to connecting these two brands together(plc and hmi). I've been scouring the net for wiring diagrams for the cable connections and also the parameters to be set for a successful communication between those two components. can anyone point me at the right direction as everything I've tried so far has been a failed attempt of making these two communicate. here are the parts and my current settings if this helps: FX3U-64M FX3U-232-BD NB5Q-TW00B or better yet, is there a proper cable that I need to buy for this to work?
  8. Serial communication with KINCO PLC

Hello to everyone. Nice to meet you all. I am programming a KINCO PLC model HP043-20DT using ladder on KINCO BUILDER. I need to establish a serial communication with my PC. The PLC has a RS485 port which I adapted it to USB to connect with my PC. The PLC allows, at least, two ways to establish serial communication: MODBUS or free-protocol. I've read the software manual and tried to reproduce the examples it provides using the instruction blocks for MODBUS (MBUSR and MBUSW) and free-protocol (XMT and RCV) communications. However, I could not receive the data on the PLC. I could effectively transmit data with XMT from the PLC to the PC and I could verify through a tool called Access Port. In relation to MODBUS, I am using a simulation tool called Multiway from OMRON, however, I get no response from the PLC. If any of you have some experience with this software or this device, I would like to ask you how could I solve the problem. Thank you for your attention. Kind regards.
  9. Memory registers on KINCO PLC

Hello to everyone. I hope you are doing well. I have a KINCO PLC HP043-20DT. I'm communicating through free-protocol instructions XMT and RCV. The manual states that memory registers SMB86, SMB186 and SMB286 contain information about the state of the reception instruction. I would like to ask if any of you know of the existence of an analog register but with respect to the transmission instruction, instead of the reception. The manual does not indicate it and I could not find any information online. I've sended an email to the manufacturer but, until now, I have not receive any answer. Otherwise, how could I search for this information? I tried through the manual providede by the manufacturer, but maybe there is other way. I would appreciate any information. Thank you so much. Kind regards.
  10. GX Works 3 (R04CPU) Device Memory

Hello,  GX Works 3 / R04CPU. I'm using the Device Memory so that I can link the HMI to my PLC. I've set aside some memory, in this case D3260, to be used as a Real (32 bits data, Float single precision) to be set by the HMI (operator adjustable setting) and read from the PLC. I thought I'd move D3260 into a local label for readability/testing purposes, and it says I cannot move an Int into a Real - which is fair enough, but, how/where do I set D3260 as a real? Do I use some Functions to take D3260 + D3261 and make it to a real, or define the data area as a real somewhere...   Dumb question I know, I'm new to GX Works 3. Thanks very muchly
  11. Codesys

Hello - I stumbled across some mention of Codesys and was curious if anyone here uses it. Pros/cons? prefer it over other programming software. Have it downloading currently (since you can download a free variation of the application) but it looks quite interesting. Also - what PLC hardware is programmed with it? Did not see that mentioned on their website when I was browsing through.
  12. So we have a PLC project coming up and its our first one and understand and can execute most of the sequence without issue.  The part that is getting me is how to handle the following efficiently using studio 5000 and panel view.   AHU has to be able to run test cycles User selectable up to 250 steps in a test cycle User selectable temperature setpoint for each step User selectable humidity setpoint for each step User selectable time duration for each step   I thought about using arrays but as i understand the allen-bradley plcs to change the array size you have to go offline and then back online so you could not change it dynamically.  Was considering doind this with reading the dataset from an excel document the user would edit. The other option for me is to have a static arrays size and then based on the number of steps the user select have the routine only execute x ammount of steps, which is done easy enough.  Big thing is after the code portion is lined out is there a way to dynamically change the hmi graphics to only display certain steps for the user to edit, maybe by using an array of bits that are on and off for visibility and then having a GUI object be shown or hidden based on that bit?

  16. op320-a communication

Hi,   I have a plc s7-200 (224xp) and a hmi op320-a, made the programs and download both, but the hmi don't connect with plc. the cable is correct like manual (op side pins 1-9 to plc pin 3, and op side pins 6-8 to plc pin 8) but the hmi just show CONNECTING... and never ends.    someone could help me, need add some configuration to plc? or another pin configuration cable?    thanks.

  18. Omron PLC Python communication

Hello All,    I am college graduate student and I know little bit of cx-programmer for modifying existing program. I have master CJ2M CPU34 PLC connected with three CP1L PLC. All 4 PLC are connected via hub through Ethernet cable. I want to read/write some memory data to/from PLC through Python programming. As I am new to PLC and Python I have not much idea regarding omron PLC and python communication. So is it possible to connect python with master/slave PLCs directly? If yes then how can I communicate? I was trying with cpppo library to connect with PLC but I could not connect it.  I have attached the master PLC communication setup for the reference.    Any kind of lead/help is appreciated.    Thank you in advance.    -Yash
  19. Hi there, I am fairly new to programming serial communications, especially with Mitsubishi PLCs. Can someone walk me through in ladder logic how to bring in ASCII to the PLC, store the data in the data registers. Then send the data out to another PC once an 'X' input is satisfied? ASCII code would go like the following: C2,0,1,123,2,ABC,3,456,CR

  21. FX-2NC-32MT Battery & Communication Cable

Hi, FX-2NC-32MT PLC need to change Battery, Can you please tell me the battery model no? Which communication cable require  for FX-2NC-32MT PLC upload or download program? Thanks & Regards Sohel Ahmed
  22. HI All,  I have an issue with my SCU32 communication.  Back ground Two SCU32s  (top and bottom side) connected via a 1100M datacable  using port1 ( 9600bps,  8-2-E, start code FF, end code FE, Tx save to d1000-d1200 , Rx save to d2000-d2200). PORT2 of bottom SCU32 is connected to a compass( 2 wire, 8-1-N, 19200 bps, serial gateway MODBUS ). Refer to photo Issue  Without compass, the receiving data at top is very stable and is didn't see any fluctuation. But if is compass is connected at bottom side port2, there is a fluctuation at the top side RX data(specifically d2000-d2005 ) .  I checked the data a bottom side TX (d1000-d1200) and it is stable. Only after sending the data and Receiving at Top side, then only the starting words fluctuate. I am not sure sure what is wrong, I am using logical ports for the DTXDU/DRXDU and compass.   Appreciate all your feedback and suggestions.
  23. This is a 1756-IF8 rev 1.5 Analog Input module. This has happened a couple times where the Module Input Data, (not mapped), goes to the high limit and freezes (Data Monitor data is static).  Plant operators pointed out the trending wasn't accurate. There is no fault on the module, no yellow triangle on the system tree for the module.  The Module properties show no faults, and RUNNING. I have done a "Reset Module" both times, (Module Properties - Module Info tab), while monitoring the module data.  As soon as it resets, instantly the Data Monitor starts showing live data. I'm going to try and replace the module at first, but I have some concerns. Has anyone run into this before? I can't seem to find any information on the "Reset Module" animation, and what it actually does.  Any information, (or where to look), would be appreciated. I don't like to hot swap, but I believe I will need to in this case, (utility).  Will the current properties, e.g. scaling transfer to the new module? Thanks Dave Redman
  24. Hello all, I am working on a project where I am communicating with a Mensor CPT6100 pressure transducer using a Micro-850 PLC. For this, I have used an AWA instruction to write some ASCII characters to the sensor. The sensor then responds to the write instruction by sending ASCII characters to the RX buffer and I used ACB and ARD instructions to read the ASCII characters. Now, I have set the ACB trigger type to 0 (msg triggered only once) and it successfully reads from the sensor. However, when I set the ACB trigger type to 1 (msg triggered multiple times), I do not get any reading in the ARD block. As a matter of fact, the ACB Q bit switches off every time the program is executed when the trigger type is set to 1. I am trying to get continuous readings from the sensor, but when the trigger type is set to 0, the program latches on to the first and only reading and it won't change. My question is, how can I change my program so that it can continuously and autonomously read from the sensor without me having to manually trigger the AWA and ACB instructions every time. I am attaching the program to this thread for your reference.  ASCII_Test_Copy.ccwarc
  25. Hey Everyone,   My company decided to purchase a piece of equipment from China, and I have the pleasure of updating its terrible existing controls. We were given the PLC program by the manufacturer, so I was able to make my changes pretty easily - or at least that would be the case if I could actually connect to the dang thing. The source program is indeed openable and editable via GX developer (the original configuration shows it as an FX3). I figured connecting should be straightforward, but I was wrong.    I initially used a serial/usb converter that I've used on some older Allen Bradley equipment (which worked fine for that). However, after no luck using it on the "Mitsubishi", I purchased a different cable that I found recommended on this forum (Tripp Lite USA-19HS - https://www.alliedelec.com/product/tripp-lite/usa-19hs/70101537/?gclid=Cj0KCQiAj9iBBhCJARIsAE9qRtB_n8TVAnJdFyYokoEu42W6H6LaT4kVsgJQI1qvPUsUF3rFviKpbt0aApLHEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds). Still, no luck. I've tried 7E1 and every baud rate possible, as well as some other bit/parity configurations (and yes, I've verified that I'm using the right com port, as well as tried moving the converter to different ports and trying those). Nothing seems to go through.  I have almost no experience with Mitsubishi beyond a couple of FX5s (which have worked fine, but I connect to those via ethernet). Any help would be greatly appreciated; if I can't make these changes, I'm going to end up rebuilding the whole cabinet with a PLC I can rely on.   Thanks in advance.
