Hi all experts, I am LOGO! 8 PLC programmer, and now I am beginning to start SCADA developement. I want to ask which software should I install ?, 1. TIA portal with Siemens SIMATIC STEP 7 Professional & WinCC Professional 15.1 x64 2. WinCC RT Professional 15.1 x64 3. STEP 7 Professional 14.0 4. SINAMICS Startdrive 14.0 5. WinCC RT Advanced v15 Please excuse me if my question is not OK as I am beginning scada developement I know nothing about it and I can get limited software through my college programme. I am confused too because I found that "Up from version 12 of WinCC the driver “LOGO” is available" and also "I think the Logo! communication driver is only available for a WinCC RT advanced , not professional." in this post : unable-to-connect-tia-15-version-to-logo-8/185145 Please hep me so that I can learn SCADA developement with my LOGO8 Waiting for your fruitful reply, Thanks and Regards

I am using TIA Portal V14 to program a Siemens Mobile HMI (KTP900 Mobile).I would like to pull up a program 'signature' from the HMI that would allow me to verify that the code in the HMI is the correct version. This would help prevent an accidental overwrite of old code, resulting in a single Mobile HMI that has differing code from several others that are also in use.The closest comparison would be a Safety Signature from a Safety PLC. However, I just want to use a file checksum or similar variable that I can put on my screen.Any ideas? I appreciate it.

I am hoping someone can help me. I have a siemens system in our facility that was built by a 3rd party. It arrived in less than stellar fashion, and doesn't work as it should. After 10 months of being here and not getting any resolve, I am going after it myself to tackle what should be relatively mundane issues to fix. That said, I have an AB background, and have worked with Automation direct, eaton, and fanuc controllers. I am new to siemens. I have made my way around the ladder pretty well, but I am having some issues with the HMI. Specifically, the vendor programmed in manual controls for our system, but they do not all work. I checked the HMI tags; they appear to match the plc tags as I expect, but when I press the HMI buttons on the screen, in online mode, I cannot see the tags become energized in the ladder. The corresponding manual controls subsequently do not work. The manual controls that do work, I can see the bits energize when I press the HMI buttons. Is there anything specifically I should be looking at that I am overlooking possibly? Typically, the HMI is an easy part of a project, but I am a bit dumbfounded by my inability to figure out something so seemingly simple. Thanks, KK

I can not dowgrade the firmware of a HMI Siemens tp 1200 comfort because it has updated from the portal tia v11 to a version 14. When I try to revert the HMI lock the operating system windows ce. Is there any way to go back to the factory default by doing some jumper on the board or unloading on another port? Because ethernet no longer works to communicate.

Hello Everyone, Our machine with PLC CPU 1214c, was program last year using TIA V13 professional. Now i need to add some Expansion module for additional sequence, but i only have here a TIA V13 basic. When i tried to search the hardware; yes it can be searched, but it will not upload the existing hardware (CPU+ other modules). My question is, if the s7-1200 PLc was programmed by TIA v13 professional , does it can only be edit by TIA v13 professional? is there any chance that the basic version can edit the programmed. Thank you all in advance for your answers...

I current have 2 variable: Displacement vs Pressure. I need to draw a real time graph on Comfort Panel. The problem with using just f(x) trend is that the minimum time between updating a point is 0.5 sec and that is for ever in my application as the whole cycle last only 5 sec and I have to plot 500 points in that time. Is there a way to do real time graph using Historical data without any time delay. If anybody can guide me through any sample program or material would e helpful. Thanks

In general, this control PLC program is written in GX Works. I did a simple visualization on TIA Portal v14 (WinCC RT Advanced) and I would like to now test it on Mitsubishi FX3U driver with ENET Module. I do not have much experience in this kind of thing, I'm still learning. I know that someone previously made a visualization in LabView and downloaded the tags from the PLC using NI OPC Server. Someone also did visualization in iFix and also downloaded tags through server opc. I do not know just how or what program to download tags in PLC so that I can no longer use it in visualization in TIA Portal. Unfortunately I still have a connection problem. The driver is connected to the router. From the connection options with RT Advanced I chose in the connections tab Mitsubishi and entered the appropriate IP. Still nothing. I do not know if the lack of a connection can be related to a virtual machine (VM Vare Workstation 12) on which I have TIA Portal installed. The driver pings but can not connect. I also tried using KEPServer EX to connect and unfortunately also failed. (I have information about the can not connect). Anyone know what program I should use? or had contact with such a problem? I attach a photo of communication from my station to more visualize the problem. Thanks

Hi, I was wondering if anyone have experience with Tia Portal Step7 v.14 and Step7 Classic v.5.5 located on a remote server? We have several persons working on our PLC's. As it is they all have their own PC with Step7 + licenses. We were thinking about moving the software environment onto a server to reduce license and maintenance costs. Does anyone else have this setup? If yes do you have any tips or comments? Pros/cons? I already know now that you cannot autodetect/configure new devices from a remote server as the Step7 detection protocol doesn't work through a router. We can live with that. We need both TIA Portal and the Step7 Classic on the same server. Thanks

TIA Runtime takes long time when starting up with the OS system
anhtuandrg posted a topic in Siemens
I have a project that run WinCC in a PC that has configuration: Core i5, RAM 4GB, HDD 500GB. WinCC connected to S7-1200. I built a runtime file, and set up Autostart in WinCC RT Start. At the beginning, it took about 1-2 minutes to open the runtime file, but now it takes me about 15 minutes to open it. In this project, I used VBscript to write data to database of Microsoft SQL 2008 in particular event. Can anyone give me some advise? -

I am working on a system with a siemens plc and HMI using TIA Portal V13 and WinCC. I wanted to remove to buttons from the HMI so the operator no longer has access to them. I removed them in the project (saved them on a temporary screen). When I uploaded the changes to the HMI, the buttons still exist. I also tried the simulator and I had the same results. Do I need to manually un-register the buttons somewhere? Also, I made a new screen and changed one of the screen change buttons to direct toward it. When testing it, a blank screen showed up instead of the screen that I directed it to. I have done a lot of plc/hmi programming in the past, but I have never experienced symptoms as such. I am new to the Siemens world. I have traditionally used AB products. Are there a lot of nuances with WinCC that I am unaware of? Kris
