  5. Hi guys! I need some help with a powerflex 525 multi speed configuring. I know I have to set the P046 parameter for 2 “DigIn TrmBlk” (source) and  P047 parameter for 7 which means present frequency. This is the speed reference. I need 3 speed, so I will use Terminal 5 and Terminal 6. When both terminal is zero then 10 Hz, when terminal 5 is 1 but terminal 6 is 0 then 20 Hz and lastly if both terminal is 1 then it will be 30 Hz. I will adjust the speed with the parameters: A410, A411 and A412. Terminal 2 would be the forward and terminal 3 would be the reverse direction. I think these two can be two PLC digital output trough one-one relay. It will be counted the distance by an encoder. When it reach the target the run command will be released and the motor will be stopped with the decel time1. Also I will connect the S1 and S2 for safety.   My question is do I have to connect other wires ? Also do I have to remove the jumper between terminal 11 and 1 ? Am I forget something ? Any comment would be highly appreciated. Thanks ahead.

  11. i am trying to communication my weintek HMI with Siemens Energy Meter PAC3200. I am using MODBUS TCP/IP Protocol but i am unable to read the data register of my energy meter. Somehow i got to read the 32bit data register but still unable to read the 64bit data register of my total KWHr Energy consumption. I have also attached the manual of my energy meter. Please guide how to read all the data registers of that energy meter. Please see the page 40 onwards for reference. The manual the about 7MB so i cannot attach the file. https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/attachments/26504150/A5E01168664B-04_EN-US_122016_201612221316360495.pdf
  12. Network Dropouts at Night!

We have been having a re-occurring issue where some of our PLC's throughout our plant have a network outage that occurs around the same time every night. The PLC's are disbursed among the plant and it has been confirmed no large pieces of equipment are being turned on around this time every night... The network traffic does not fluctuate around this time and is not near a "troubling" level. There was a reboot to one of our servers on the same VLAN as the PLC's that are having the connectivity issues... What could have changed from a server reboot to remedy this issue, the server is not communicating to the PLC's, they are just on the same VLAN.

  14. Please could you assist with the software required to download data tables from 4 off DIRIS A10 Multifunction Meters into TM221CE40R Logic Controller via TMC2SL1 Comms Cartridge using Modbus Protocol over RS485. I have downloaded the Modbus tables from Socomec but not sure how to get these into the PLC. I would really appreciate your help in achieving this. I am using EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic to program the PLC & DAQ Factory Developer Release for my Touchscreen. Link to Socomec Modbus tables: https://www.socomec.com/files/live/sites/systemsite/files/SCP/6_gestion_energie/diris/diris_a10/DIRIS-A-10_COMMUNICATION-TABLE_2018-01_DCG01013_MULTI.html#General
  15. Hi everybody. I am looking for the schematic diagram of the power supply for the Allen Bradley 1764-24BWA series B. I did extensive search on google but could not find anything useful (only user manual of replacement parts). Thanks in advance. Cheers.
  16. B&R Power Panel 100 calibration

Good day! Please tell me the options for calibrating the touchscreen of the B & R Power Panel 100 4PP120.1043-31 Rev.K0 without BIOS. After the damage, the touch screen managed to calibrate. After replacing the touchscreen with a new serviceable one, it is impossible to "push" the buttons - you need to start above the button, off-screen. There is no project source. A faulty touchscreen also fails to do a calibration. Can I reset the default calibration settings? Where is the calibration table stored? Is there a way to immediately call calibration after power on? I would be very grateful for any ideas!
  17. Anyone have experience with the old SLC-500s? I have one machine that is about 13 years old and I think they used a new old stock SLC-05/04 when they built it. Anyway I had a battery error, which makes sense since the battery was very old, and I lost my program when I tried to replace it, which makes sense because the capacitor which is supposed to hold the charge is very old. When I tried to re-download the program to the PLC, I could not connect, I realized my issue now was no null modem... and my driver not working on my RS-232 to USB converter. My question is:  What is the port above the DB-9 port used for? It was labeled PROG, so when my DB-9 serial cable didn't work I tried a serial cable for a mitsubishi FX series on the top port... and.... my power supply died. Is this a common thing on SLC-500 power supplies? Can you short them by using the wrong cable? The weird thing is the fuse on the front was not blown. Is there a fuse inside I can get to and replace? We are planning on just keeping this machine a few more years so we don't want to upgrade it. The CPU was fine afterwards.
  18. Hello All, I will first state that I am very new to the world of PLC's. I do the control drawings where I work. I'm trying to figure out the 1734 Point IO, specifically the 1734-IA4. The manual states "Module power is supplied from the internal power bus". Does this mean I do not need to run ANY power wires to the modules? The installation manual shows points 4,5,6 and 7 as "L1" wires?? The system I am designing, from left to right has the following: 1794-PS13, 1734-AENT, 1734-FPD, Followed by Qty. 11 1734-IA4's. I'm bringing 120VAC and 24VDC to the 1794-PS13. From the 120VAC terminals, I run wires to the FPD. From the 24VDC terminals, I run wires to the 1734-AENT. On the first 1734-IA4, I would think I should bring any power there, because its already back plane fed...….correct? Or DO I run power wires there? Thanks in advance
  19. Hello, -I'm considering using an AB 1734-IB8 to count input pulses from a Micro Motion flow meter transmitter and, since I'm very new to this stuff, would like a little guidance as to how/if this can be done.       My first concern is the wiring. The manual for the transmitter shows this wiring diagram for the specific model I'm using.       Here, B would represent the 1734-IB8 module. I'm not going to be using the analog loop. In addition to this wiring, terminals 9 & 10 on the transmitter will be wired to the same 24V and Common as my PLC modules.        The 1734-IB8 manual shows this diagram for wiring.       Should I consider the pulse output of the transmitter as a 3-wire device, connect terminal 3 of the transmitter to my 1734-IB8 input terminal and disregard the connection from terminal 4 of the transmitter, or should I just tie terminal 4 to my common? Or, Should I consider my pulse output as a 2-wire device, tie terminal 3 of the transmitter to my 24V and terminal 4 to my input module? My guess is the pulse output should be considered a 3-wire device with terminal 4 of the transmitter tied to my common, but I'd like a little bit of explanation with this. -My second main concern has to do with the capability of the 1734-IB8 module to read pulses. More specifically, I would like to know what parameters of the module I need to research to see if it will be possible to read the pulses from my transmitter in the application I'm considering. If the 1734-IB8 can't be used, I would end up going to a high-speed counter card.   Thanks
  20. Please assist me with the following; regarding the ME96SSHA-MB Power meter data transition with Melsec-Q series PLC; We acquire to read various values on dedicated Modbus storage address registers at the simultaneous into a Melsec-Q series PLC via Modbus (TCP or RTU)  for calculation purposes. Naturally, since the reading of these variables are to provide accurate instantaneous results, it is a requirement that these values are to be read at one scan.   However, as can be seen below, there is a gap in address register range – of which, if all of these are scanned simultaneously, yields an exception error when read. This error is only avoided by scanning these data sets separately – which is not ideal for our application – since accuracy in calculations is imperative.

  22. Omron cp1e power indicator turns off

The plc runs for a minute and then the power turns off while the supply voltage is ok. I was sure that it is for the power circuit problem inside the plc. As I had a spare power circuit of cp1h and I checked it had same voltages output (5vdc, 24vdc & 0), I replaced it. Now I cannot connect it with my laptop to change to run operating mode. Could anyone help me?
  23. I got denied on a job interview, there might have been a few things but I think not knowing NEC and lack of experience with three phase hurt me. The NEC stuff is for another thread but how do you get experience with three phase? Unless you're in a shop already 3ph can be tricky to find. We talked about it at school in multiple classes but never anything hands on. Yet the descriptions for these entry level jobs all expect you to have a few years in of working with 3ph. It looks like I can make my own three phase from 120VAC with a small VFD. Maybe find some small 3ph motor at the scrap yard, get a new contactor and practice taking measurements/hooking stuff up. I've no problem building a trainer if I get to study up on 3ph and NEC at the same time. Crazy? Any advice?
  24. I have a "paddle wheel" style flow meter that I am trying to wire to my Micrologix 1400. It is a three wire device and there is a tag on it that says it can run at 6-36VDC. So, naturally, I thought to wire this to one of the HSC inputs of the Micrologix directly. I hooked the ( + ) on the meter to 24V, ( - ) on the meter to common, signal to the oscilloscope, and ground on the scope went to common. I see a small 60Hz sine wave @ like 5mv when the wheel is not turning. When the wheel is turning I get a small square wave but in the same mV range. It is not a nice smooth square wave either its all jumbled up with the 60Hz sine wave.  I hooked this thing up to a transmitter and scoped the signal and ( - ) in parallel with the wheel - I get a nice smooth square wave signal when the wheel turns. It is only at 4.5V though. My questions are? Why does't the paddle wheel give me what I am expecting directly? Also, what is the voltage range on the pulse that a micrologix will see? I am assuming that it will not count a wave with a 4.8V amplitude.... Thanks for your help in advanced! neech
