I am trying to set up a string compare [ $= "Text" D### ] . But it's not passing when it should. So i tried pushing the string to a place holder register [ $= D###1 D##2 ], but its still not matching, but when i just do a double compare [ d= D##1 D##2 ] it passes. How is my string failing but the numbers obviously match? Struggling to get picture to attach. Please see here for example. https://imgur.com/a/w1ckk64

SLC 5/05 program dropping on power cycle

Hi all, I'm new to Allen Bradley but have some experience with TIA/STEP 7 - not that it relates to this issue! We have 2 side by side systems but running a SLC 5/05 CPU, with the same program but different IP addresses, connected via a network switch. All has been fine until both were power cycled - system 1 CPU program has dropped but not system 2? The IP address for system 1 has been reset and can't be pinged from either the switch (but 2 can) or directly connected to the PLC port. Steps I have carried out as below, so would appreciate anyone skimming over and pointing out where I've gone wrong/something else to try; - Used BOOT P DHCP tool directly connected to system 1 plc, add relation assign original IP address, click Disable BOOT P. - Attempt to ping (after changing laptop IP to same loop but different node) = no connection - same cable used to connect to switch and ping system 2 which worked so cable and adaptor settings good. -not going to help with the immediate problem but battery swapped out for new on CPU. Any assistance and advice appreciated! -
I have been trying to connect to my nt21 hmi and I keep getting timeout error. I am able to connect to the plc with the same driver. So I know my cable is connected fine. I set the settings of the driver to match the hmi settings and still times out. Can someone please share the steps to take to send an application to this hmi?

Hi guys, I need to upload an NT31-123B-EV3 IHM (System Ver 4.2), but the software I have installed is NT Support Tool Ver 4.87, does not include the PT model I need (System Ver 4.2), has only NT31-V2 / V3 (System Ver 3.1 / 4.1). Does anyone have a solution to this problem? obs: * HMI: NT31-ST123B-EV3 (System Ver. 4.2) * Software: NT Support Tool Ver 4.87 Best Regards,

Hi, I was wondering if anybody could post a photo of the Logicmaster 6 IBM PC keyboard translator chart? This is a 'tear out' page from an appendix in the Logicmaster 6 programming manual. The 'Logicmaster 6 Programming and Documentation Software User Guide' Appendix C refers to this chart as follows: "This appendix contains a keyboard translator chart to use with the IBM-PC, PC-XT, PC-AT, or IBM-compatible personal computer. The chart has been printed in triplicate to provide you with extra copies. The sheet has also been formatted so that you can remove each copy of the chart from the manual for easier reference." All the hard copy manuals I can find have this keyboard chart removed and online pdf copies do not show this page. your help would be appreciated.

I'm editing a dual language project for an NA5 HMI. It's working fine except for the message at startup. To modify the project I've had to update the firmware on the HMI. I'm using Sysmac Studio 1.15. Startup language seems to be set correctly. Any ideas? -

Hi guys. I found error on PLC and from PLC diagnostic I found this Operation Error 4100 as per attach picture. FYI, there is no SD card mount onto this PLC. I wonder what is ATA card. This error wont affect the operation. Any advise on what to check? This ladder is pop up when I clicked, error jump. Thanks.

Hi, So I have a problem, that BootP DHCP server doesn't find my 1734 AENTR series B and so I can't assign IP address to it. Been trying many things. Any advice? I'm new to AB and I guess it may be a really easy thing but so far I didn't find a solution.

I am trying to get a NT 21 to link to a CPL1 I have both set to Host link 9600/7e2 I have it set to read a DM All I get is system initialzing I am using the same cable i used to build the screens with NT Series Support tool I sent and recieved the screens so the cable works The com port on thee PLC is flashing I have tried starting the PLC in run mode and Monitor Mode What did i forget to do ??????? How to connect two NB HMI's to NX102 PLC via Ethernet

I am new to automation systems and devices and I just want to know how to connect two HMI's (each one would control different things) to one PLC using Sysmac Studio and NB-Designer via Ethernet. The model of the PLC is NX1029020 and the HMI's are one NB10W-TW01B and an NB7W-TW01B. I searched for info about this topic online but I couldn't find anything that worked for me, I saw an article from OMRON where they connect two NB's to the CP series, but in my case, NB designer doesn't allow me to insert more than one HMI in the same project, I also found something similar on a youtube video that gave me an idea about how to connect multiple HMIs exporting the pks file and importing it to another HMI project but I still can´t figure out how to add both to my PLC. I would thank you a lot if you could help me with this because I know it's not a rare implementation, just I haven´t found the right way to do it. Hello, I want to know, if it is worthwhile to transfer from Q series to iQ-R? Currently our equipment is using Q series, which ss a vacuum coating equipment with about 10 power instruments, 20 gas controllers, and pumps and so on. As for the analog and X, Y points, Q is quite capable. I can not see any advantage to switch to iQ-R, but some people want to. So I want to know, 1. will Q be outdated in the near future? 2. will use iQ-R cost much more than Q? including peripheral units. 3. has iQ-R really been widely adopted? 4. thoug iQ-R may be powerful, I think use multiple middle size CPU's can be more advantageous, is this right? I have a huge confusion regarding the retentive timers on FX3GE. According to the programming manual for FX3G(image attached), all retentive timers use the EEPROM. This is very confusing to me because the retentive timers are modifying the measured time constantly in an EEPROM register and EEPROM type of memory is known to be write limited. After a couple of million write cycles the EEPROM registers burnout. I've experienced this myself by constantly using the T250 and after a while it became unusable. The timer stopped counting time after some time. This leads to my decision that retentive timers on FX3GE PLCs are something that should бе used only on rare occasions so as to avoid EEPROM memory burnout. If this is true than the real question comes in: What is an alternative for using retentive timers on FX3GE when you want to measure time between two events. The instruction TTMR for teaching timer is appropriate however this instruction does not exist on FX3G series.
