  1. GX Works2 & MX OPC Server 6.10 issue

Hello! What i am about to do is connecting an external SCADA system to a Mitsubishi PLC via OPC server. I have already made some FBs and included their instances in a program in GX Works2, then started a GX Simulator2 and connected it to an OPC Server. From the OPC configurator I have defined some tags with their corresponding device addresses (e.g. D12345). I am using structured variables which device addresses i am entering in the OPC configurator. Tried to make some full rebuild compiling and at first was happy that the devices remain unchanged. The main problem is that after some time this devices change which completely ruined my experiment. Maybe there is some point that I am missing or there is just no way to use a fully functional SCADA connected that way to the Mitsubishi PLC (by OPC)? The question is is there a way to tell a particularly used instance of a function block to have exactly the same device addresses ever.

  5. I am using rslinx in my configuration with 2 devices: windows xp computer and an SLC 5/05 CPU.  The XP PC is running a program that relies on a file that is automatically dropped in a shared folder from a separate networked PC.  The file is deleted immediately from the shared folder.  The program on the XP PC uses rslinx to control the SLC 5/05 CPU to complete the operation.  The original XP PC hard drive failed and a new PC was installed with all the necessary software and services.  Ounce I completed the  setup, the process worked for 48 hours, then stuck in one operation (one file).  Now, I can restart rslinx and the software and the process will function normally, but stall, then get stuck on one file.  There are no files in the shared folder, rslinks has not lost connection.  The original router was replaced at the same time as the PC.  I am leaning towards rslinx storing the files somewhere and stalling/stopping the operation.  I can not find files anywhere.  Does the SLC 5/05 CPU store the files?  I'm lost.  Do you have any troubleshooting suggestions?
  6. Hi all, I have a S7-1200 CPU 1214 DC DC DC and Cm 1241 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 communication module.I'm using TIA Portal 14 and i connected cpu but i couldn't connect cm 1241 communication module. When i looked diagnostic i saw" Diagnostics data are not available because the current online configuration data differ from the offline configuration data.".Then i looked for what was the difference. But i didn't see.Are there anyone can help me? 7. Hello all  i'm looking for some software to record a 100 plus channels maybe with an ascii string from a PLC? i want to be able to assign each channel with a unit and a range, flagging feature would be nice.  - selecting the channels i want to view  - auto start recording - save file and start new automatically  -view and create reports  preferably no additional hardware because of the amount of channels. this is to record an operators every move so in events of damage or plant failure we can quickly identify the problem (point the finger)  many thanks dan
  8. Hello all, i'm looking at installing a completely new network for our PLC system, using a ring topology. at the same time i would like to incorporate the IP cameras and VOIP into the same network.  each system is on a different sub net, PLC = x.x.1.x, Cameras= x.x.2.x, VOIP= x.x.3.x estimated camera traffic will be 25 Mbps, PLC 10 Mbps, VOIP no more than 1 Mbps  switches would be capable of 100 Mbps  question: managed or un-managed switches? if it is possible to use un-managed without affecting operations then this would be a massive cost saving    please only comment if you have practical experience implementing this  many thanks Dan

  16. Hey guys, I'm trying to power about 31 armor blocks in a daisy-chain. I'm running my power off a panel to a junction box and then drawing cables to Taps and dropping a cable to each Armorblock. I'm using 1732E-8x8M12DRs and 1732E-IB16M12Rs, which have 4-pin mini male ports for power.  1. Are there 4-pin mini cables (18AWG) Taps so I can power the entire system using 18AWG cables? 2. Is it safe to gave 22AWG micro cables and M12 taps and draw out a 4-pin mini cable drop to my armorblocks? 3. What in your opinion would be the best way to daisy chain power to these modules? Thanks!

  18. Mitsubishi SC-A220M

Please refer the images. Please note down the RED mark in drive image. In my factory their is an grinding machine in which they used this drive to drive the motor. The mainboard was burnt down so i tried to start the motor manually. From the machine I observed,1.It operating in single phase power supply(Given to R and S) and three phase output(U,V,W) is given to the motor.2.STF and SD are given to the control board.3. 10 and 2 shorten down using an small wire.By this they controlling the speed of the motor. My doubts are,1.Is STF and SD are acting as switch to switch ON/OFF the motor..?By connecting an simple switch across the STF and SD to control the motor. If we connected the switch means we can switch ON the motor manually..?2.In datasheet they adviced to use an 1/2W,1K POT to control the speed of the motor. But here they shorted 10 and 2.Byt this way how they controlling the speed of the motor..?

  20. Omron Learning Curve - DATA TYPES

Hello Everyone, Recently getting into Omron and I am wishing to pursue this type of PLC and software for a staple in my career. I have recently just graduated from a program involving PLC mainly Allen Bradley and one thing I have to say is that while making the transition from AB to Omron, the main difficulty I have had was with data types, specifically BCD, UINT, and CHANNEL. I am currently using the CX Programmer software for a few PID loops and they are causing me some great difficulty because normally I would just simply enter in all my values into a huge PID block in AB but that is not the case when it comes to CX-Programmer. Can anyone point me in the right direction of some manuals or e-learning places so I can quickly get a grasp on this so I can move ahead with the code. It is frustrating when you know how to do something and you just can't figure out how to put it into a software you aren't familiar with. Thanks for your help

  22. Control Valve

Hi, Please I am new to PLCs & SCADA. I will appreciate if someone can explain what it means by The inlet valve will be actuated by the SCADA  system via two 24V DC digital outputs. Why is it using two 24V DC digital output. Is this because it is a solenoid two way valve?   Thanks
  23. CX Designer using tables - Help

Hi all, I have been getting to grips with the different graphic displays in CX One Designer but I am having trouble trying to produce a table which shows column one as a label and column 2 as data value that I am polling from a Modbus slave. From what I have read/tried the data block table seems to require a csv as the data source and I cant seem to achieve what I want with the standard table. If anyone can advise how I might be able to achieve this I would be extremely grateful. Below is the sort of thing I'm hoping to achieve but in a table format:   Bearing 1 Temperature 80°C Bearing 1 Vibration 0.2 mm/s²         Bearing 2 Temperature 82°C Bearing 2 Vibration 0.2 mm/s²
  24. Hi everyone, Recently, I started working with the Micro820 Controller Embedded I/O. My project is simple : when the output _IO_EM_DO_00 is set to true, an LED light turns on. But, even though it's super simple, I can't make it work. Here's my setup. If you need more information, feel free to ask anything !
  25. Hello all, I am still fairly new to this forum and PLC's in general. I am trying to connect a EA9 touch panel via Ethernet to an Allen Bradley Micro Logix 1400 PLC. I am using Ethernet over serial because I need the serial connection to program while using the touch panel. I have given the Panel the IP Address 192.168.1.20 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and I have given the PLC the IP address 192.168.1.10 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0. The panel is not communicating with the PLC and I have very little knowledge on the subject, anyone's help would be greatly appreciated. The picture on the top is from the PLC and the picture on the bottom is from the C-More program for the panel.
