  3. Hello everybody, I continued my project this morning and my HMI gives the 'PLC No response 00-02-3" error... I haven't changed anything since last Friday, so in theory it should work. I used this tutorial a few weeks ago and that worked. I also tried so use some old programs which used to work, but they don't work now...  HMI IP: 192.168.250.1 (the addresses from the tutorial) PLC IP: 192.168.250.2 (the addresses from the tutorial)   Does anyone know what could be the problem? I already tried using another switch, but that didn't work either. EDIT: I just saw that I posted this in the wrong subforum, excuse me EDIT2: I found the solution. I cleared the data memory before... So what I did was transfering the settings to the PLC, then completely power off the PLC and then power it on again. That worked for me! Thanks, Olivier
  4. setting date cp1l

Hi all im currently using the DATE instruction to set the PLC's date and time via the HMI which is an NB7W which i have working but i am currently setting each byte of the words being used in DATE by using numerical inputs in NB designer and entering integer and decimal to set these bits in DATE and its a bit ugly to say the least. is there a way on nb designer to only modify bytes or am i going to have to used full words on nb designer and use MOVD in cx programmer to assign them to their correct byte CURRENT SETUP always on DATE using d50=d53
  5. Hi there! I recently discovered this forum and I find it pretty useful for sharing and learning about PLCs. The thing is I'm trying to make a Stack using the SSET(630) instruction in a CJ2M PLC. Reading Omron's W340 manual I saw that PLC memory address for the different stack channels is represented as "00010000" to "0001000F". So, in order to set the last stack word address as well as the pointer's address, how do you know those values? Or am I just misunderstanding something? Thanks in advance!   Edit: Solved, the definition of the stack was wrong!
  6. Help please

I got a new cpm2a and installed cx one (programmer) on my dell XP and tried connecting it but failed. I’m using the peripheral port (serial to usb (cif02)) and also made sure my drivers read this cable correctly but when open my cx programmer I choose cpm2a* and when try changing the network type to the USB port, it doesn’t show up at all. Idk what I’m doing wrong. Please help
  7. Is their any method like virtual port adding to advanced HMI and cx programmer to view input and output from advanced HMI to Cx-programmer.?

  9. Hello guys I am a beginner in FINS TCP communication and I am trying to do a FINS TCP communication between an omron PLC CP1L-E in client mode to communicate with my PC that is in server mode, I am using the SocketTest v3.0.0 program that is in listening mode and still was unable to receive any information from the CLP, can you help me? The program and some images of the simulation are attached Thanks for reading SERVER PC IP ADDRESS 192.168.15.160 CLIENT PLC IP ADDRESS 192.168.15.10 tcp socket_vms.cxp
  10. HI everyone i was wondering if i could connect a cp1l-el to 2 different NB screens running 2 different programs. we have a main line HMI which displays the health of the entire line with its own cj2m plc, we also have a machine which is part of the line that has its own plc(CP1l-EL) and HMI. is it possible for me to include the cp1l in the main lines HMI so that it can display the status of that machine? or will it cause issues because it already has a program attached to it. i dont know exactly how the NB program works does it just read the bits of data it needs to or is it constantly looking at the whole plc data list?
  11. Hi all I was being really clever and suggested i add a list of preset settings to a line which every1 seemed thrilled with. however the amount of tedium has just dawned on me. im hoping theres a better way to go about this. the main idea is that we have a line controlled from a cj2m which has around 150 changeable settings including things like conveyor speeds, pump filling times.. waiting times etc.. i have done this in smaller scale before where we had changeable pumps, when pump 1 was connected i used the MOV function to load pump 1's data into the correct words. and in NB designer i had layered multiple number input boxes each displaying only when its own pump was connected. any ideas would be great
  12. Flip flop in structured text

Hi all i've been trying to make a simple timer in structured text which is turned on and off by a single input, all instances of flip flops i have found seem to be 2 input. any help or examples would be appreciated example of programs; Pulse signal received, start timer Pulse signal received stop timer
  13. Pressure transmitter drift

Hello all this isnt strictly omron/programmer but has anyone used much in the way of pressure transmitters? we have a wika s-11 pressure transmitter on one of our machines installed roughly 7 months ago where the scaling does not seem to be linear, i only started working here around that time so i dont know how it was installed etc. but its a 0-40 bar 4-20mA transmitter connected to an ad081 4000 resolution connected to a cj2m. so the conversion should be nice and easy 100 raw data = 1 bar however it seems to be scaling logarithmicly to me as we checked with a 2 different guages and when they were at 2 bar the transmitter was showing 137 raw data and at 8 bar it was showing 737 raw data and this seems to keep scaling in this fashion as we get to higher bar. is this a common fault on transmitters? is there anything else that could be causing this? how often would you normally expect a transmitter to last? i checked my scaling FB on another transmitter connected to a compressor and it worked correctly so its not the maths used   thanks in advance
  14. Hey all, Further to my other post I need to read an analog input flowmeter signal (4-20mA) and scale it to litres per minute flow-rate. Then display on HMI...... Then use a PID control block to control a output water control valve (4-20mA) to a calculated set point (litres per minute) The flowmeter is measuring water flow in a pipe & The control valve is controlling the flow rate in the pipe. The water is then sprayed onto a conveyor belt - measured at a percentage SP depending on the amount of powder product on the conveyor belt (in KG) 1. So inputs to PID is the SP (litres per sec) calculated every few seconds from product weights (kg) in bins. 2. And the PV is the flowmeter reading. 3. Output is the control valve (4-20mA)  Does anyone have any tips to do this or some good flow PID and flowmeter example. Your help would be much appreciated. Thanks Richard
  15. Hi all is it possible to use the internal date of a plc in a function block without setting it as an input for the function block? for instance i have some logic to do something inbetween lets say 10:00 and 16:00 o'clock am i able to use those internals bits of the plc where the time is stored without inputting them to the function block and using them internally?   thanks
  16. Hello there, I am new to OMRON so need some help to communicate two PLC over FINS.   Here are the description of the system... (IO Table image is attached)   PLC1-  CJ2M-CPU33 IP- 10.113.218.34 SUBNET-255.254.0.0 UNIT NO - 00 (set the dial available on the CPU in HEX) NODE - 22 (set the 2 dials available on the CPU in HEX) PLC2-  CJ2M-CPU33 IP- 10.113.218.35 SUBNET-255.254.0.0 UNIT NO - 01 (set the dial available on the CPU in HEX) NODE - 23 (set the 2 dials available on the CPU in HEX)     Now, what i have to do is to transfer the D100 to D110 from PLC1 to PLC2's D200 to D210 and Transfer the D100 to D110 from PLC2 to PLC1's D200 to 210.   I have tried RECV and ECHRD blocks but didn't succeed yet.   Two CPU are connected over ethernet via a industrial switch.   Can you help me to achieve data transmission please...
  17. Hello everyone,  Someone know, how to read timer data from omron PLC CP1E in HMI NB3Q-TW00B? I tried write macros for HMI program, but I have some error about macro in program. How I understand, this HMI model don't support data reading from plc timer TIM in cx programmer? But how I can write macros and set it for recognizing in HMI?

  19. Timers in structured text

    HI everyone ive decided to try and use a structured text function block for an machine output calculation, to put it simply i want the machine to say how many units its outputting per minute so i thought it would be much nicer to have a basic maths Structured text block rather than a long bit of ladder for some simple instructions. i have 2 inputs, one is the start of the machine cycle, the other is the end of the machine cycle. every cycle is one unit output. i want to time the gap between input 1 and 2 then just a bit of simple maths 60/(cycle_time) for uniters per minute. i want this to be to 2 decimal places for a reasonable resolution. the main problem im having is the timers in structured text, im a little confused how they work i would do this in ladder by having input 1 set a bit and then input 2 resetting this bit(i assume i can set a bit by using an if statement [if input 1 true, timer{bool}true]) this timer bool would then activate the timer, again how i would do it in ladder would be to have a timer1 count down from &500 then use a maths block for 500-timer1 and this would give time elapsed this is the bit i really dont know how to do in structured text and would appreciate any help in the matter. otherwise i can just do it in ladder   added my idea of what it would look like IF Cycle_start=TRUE THEN     Timer_start:= TRUE; ELSIF Cycle_end=TRUE THEN     Timer_start:= FALSE; END_IF; TIMHX(Timer_start, Cycle_timer,Timer_time); Cycle_time_bin:= 500-Timer_time; Cycle_time_real:= UINT_TO_REAL(Cycle_time_bin); Cans_per_min:= 60.0/Cycle_time_real;
  20. Hello, CJ2M CPU-32 to IAI motion controller through ethernet/ip I'm working on programming electric actuators to pick up parts from a tray. I will have x (row) and y (column) coordinates that I need to update to move the actuators. So to go through the whole tray I would have to use nested loops. (below what i'm trying to achieve if i was doing it in C++)                                           6 Rows and 6 Columns, palettizing                                           data rows&columns DWORD (Row1,row2,row3...row6; col1,col2...col6)                                           c++ code                                           for i=0,i++,i<6;                                               rowData = row                                               for i=0,i++,i<6;                                                   colData = col                                                   execute movement                                                   wait for confirmation                                               end                                           end I have a way of doing it but it will require a lot of repetitive lines and typing every step, and I was wondering if there is a way on every iteration to increment the data location instead of the contents. In the picture below you can see the example where the goal is to copy data from D8100 to D8000, then in next step from D8102 to D8000, then from D8104 to D8000 and so on. So far in the documentation I was only able to find how to increment contents. Is it even possible to do what I want to?
  21. Hello Sir/Ma'am, Hope you and your family are safe in this Covin-19 Pandemic.   One of my client have a machine in their ceramic industry which has Omron PLC System. Here I am describing the PLC Hardware Structure. (CP1H-X40-DT1-D-SC) + (CP1W-40EDT) + (CP1W-DA041) CP1H-X40-DT1-D-SC (Main CPU Unit) CP1W-40EDT (First Expansion Module, on right side of the CPU) CP1W-DA041 (Second Expansion Module on right side of the CP1W-40EDT)   Client shutdown the machine before a month due to Corona Pandemic, and today restarted the machine.   Now the problem at the restart of machine... Analog Output of 0-10V DC are not sourcing from the attached analog output module for any of channels. (Used to control speed of AC Drive) We have checked the program, and verify that the program is moving the value in analog output register address, but still no output signal at the module.(Checked Using Multimeter) We have same machine at another factory so we have tried to replace the all 2 expansion module and observed that the first Digital Module is Working properly but only last analog output module is getting problem again.   I don't know much about OMRON PLC Programming so seeking for the help regarding this.   OEM have moved the data in CIO 106 for generating analog output, as well OEM has move #8099 in CIO 104 and CIO 105 at the first scan of program. I don't know very much about this programming, that's why i refer some manuals but didn't succeed yet.   Kindly help me out if possible... I have attached backup of program as well for reference...   Thanks...   Bobin Feeder.cxp

  23. FWRIT(701) To Memory Card

Hi Can anyone please help with the following issue. Equipment  PLC - CJ2M-CPU33 Setup is being used to log distance measurements from a conveyor belt to a compact flash card in the PLC I have successfully set this up and it is working by writing values to a stack then when this is full, changes stack and writes the data in the previous stack to the card. The FWRIT command has the control word #3D00 (Comma-Delimited, Return every 16 fields, Append, Memory Card) The problem I am having is with the data in the CSV file, I am logging typically 300K lines with 16 values.   Towards the end of logging the data in the CSV file will start to return every 5 values instead of 16 which is just painful to re-format. I have attached an image of the Excel data to explain better. My Two stacks are  Stack 1 - E0_0   -   E0_16003 Stack 2 -  E0_16010   -   E0_32013   Thanks for any help.
  24. Hi all ive been given a small test cabinet to play around with and test on, it has a cp1l-el plc and a mx2 inverter, ive been looking at how to control the inverter and cant seem to find a way to program it how i want. the plc has no modbus connector so it cannot be done that way i want to be able to set the frequency and be able to start and stop the inverter through the control pins. let me know if this is possible, thanks
  25. Hi all ive been trying to figure out if theres a way to close pop up screens from the plc when the machine i have get an error of some kind a pop up screen appears on the HMI(NB3Q-TW01B), i currently have it so that if all errors on the machine are resolved it returns to the main menu which was fine until i added a couple of new errors where them being resolved might take someone out of a screen they are working on. so a close screen function for each individual error would work alot better but im not too sure how to go about it. thanks to anyone who can help
