Hi there! I've been looking for some fault codes table for the 1734-AENTR adapters, since I'd like to show a message in HMI with some information when there is a faulty adapter, but I haven't found anything on the internet. So my question is, is there any type of table like this for these adapters? Right now I have a PLC with some AENTR adapters in the program for testing, and since there is actually no adapter connected to it, I can see a 16#2024 error in the module properties, but can't seem to find that info in the module variables. Do you guys have any clue on how to find this information in order to show it? Thanks in advance!

Hi, I have a 1734-OB8E module on a POINT I/O system. In the hardware configuration, everything looks fine. However, I am not able to energize any outputs on the card. What could be wrong? Working in Logix5000.

Hello group, Is it possible to copy the data string from a 1734-IB8S to a datatype such as an INT or DINT? When setting up the I/O with a Safety PLC, the discrete I/O is setup within the Safety Program but it's contained within the program itself. To utilize the same I/O points in a Continuous task requires inserting and remapping the I/O points to essentially the same tags. If the I/O data could be moved/copied to a global datatype within the Safety Program, it seems like it would reduce any redundancy in the Continuous tasks. Anyone done anything like that/ Suggestions?

Hi, So I have a problem, that BootP DHCP server doesn't find my 1734 AENTR series B and so I can't assign IP address to it. Been trying many things. Any advice? I'm new to AB and I guess it may be a really easy thing but so far I didn't find a solution.

AOP installation broke module RSL5000
JustinSmith posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello, My coworker and I are commissioning a new panel. We have a 1732-AENTR series C remote IO thats Rev 6.1. The project file from a previous identical panel has the module at rev5.3 in the project tree. I downloaded the AOP and ran the installer, it worked no issues. My co worker then did the same thing but now the module is unrecognized in the project tree and the module is missing after installing the AOP. Im concerned he corrupted something. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the AOP but no luck. It works on my computer but not his? TechConnect said something about corrupting the aop core. My coworker did the first install and he was getting confused about zip files and the virtual machine we run rsl5k on. Maybe he broke it? any suggestions?- 5 replies

Question from a PLC newbie.... We had a "blip" during a thunderstorm where we saw multiple signals on a 1734-IB8S point I/O transition from true to false for ~ 4 seconds (based on our DCS history from a serial connection). There are several other modules on the backplane, and we only saw state change on this one card. The 24VDC power is sourced from T-0 for points 0-3, and T-2 for points 4-7, so we don't suspect a short. It's been suggested that we either had an I/O card "blip", or temporary loss of power to our field contacts (limit switches) caused by dust/vibration of the removeable terminal block. Our controller is a 1756-L73S GuardLogix 5570. My question is should I expect to see an I/O fault in the Minor Fault history (we did not)? Would an I/O fault necessarily show up in this history, or does it need to be configured somewhere? Our points on this card are set up as single points with test pulse from T-0 and T-2. We are reading status of limit switches in the field. Thank you in advance for any response. Kathy

Hello, I am trying to receive data from a scale via rs232. my setup; compact logix l18er with a 1734-rs232ascii point IO module to receive the data. I am receiving data from the scale, but I have very little understanding of ascii, so I do not know how to convert the data I am receiving to something use-able. any help on how to convert the data to something I can use or where to even start would be much appreciated. using a scientech ZSA 210 scale https://scientech-inc.com/media/downloadable/files/links/1/2/12222-d_rev-f_instruction_manual.pdf

Configuring high speed counter card 1734-VHSC24/C with explicit messaging
Jiggadoo posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello! I have a problem with Allen-Bradley High Speed Counter card 1734-VHSC24/C. I need to make changes to the configuration parameter .OnValue1 (DINT) during the system is running. Now, for changing the parameter value, I need to switch off the module and this can not be done during the line is running. I think that maybe this can be done using the explicit messaging. I could not find information for this from internet, so now I ask you to help me with this item. If anyone have experience or knowledge of this, please help me. I do no have experience using explicit messaging. My configuration: Studio 5000 Logix Designer V24.00, 1756-L71S V24.11, Ethernet/IP, 1734AENTR, 1734-VHSC24/C countermodule.- 6 replies

1734-VHSC24 Draw Wire Encoder rollover
Andrew R posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hi all, I am taking a Kubler draw wire encoder back to a 1734-VHSC24 and having a little bit of an issue with the rollover. With the draw wire untouched the output value seems to be fluctuating over time and appears to be drifting backwards to the rollover value making our distance measurements completely useless. Does anyone have any insight as to why that might be? -
I have a Labeller that receives ASCII data from 1734-232ASC for printing labels. The max. buffer data size for 1734-232ASC is 127 bytes, however I need to write 350 Characters for printing 1 label. Please provide any info regarding Writing more data than the buffer size.

I am trying to communicate to a AB 1738-AENTR on a OMRON ethernet/ip network. I have configured the AENTR module through the web browser and have been using Omron's Network Configuration tool to set up the network. I can see the AENTR but cant seem to communicate to it. I think this has something to do with the input and output byte size? Does anyone out there have any experience in setting up a 1738-AENTR in a OMRON system? If so, how do I determine what the proper byte size is? Also, is there something else I should be doing to get the module working?

Hello All, I will first state that I am very new to the world of PLC's. I do the control drawings where I work. I'm trying to figure out the 1734 Point IO, specifically the 1734-IA4. The manual states "Module power is supplied from the internal power bus". Does this mean I do not need to run ANY power wires to the modules? The installation manual shows points 4,5,6 and 7 as "L1" wires?? The system I am designing, from left to right has the following: 1794-PS13, 1734-AENT, 1734-FPD, Followed by Qty. 11 1734-IA4's. I'm bringing 120VAC and 24VDC to the 1794-PS13. From the 120VAC terminals, I run wires to the FPD. From the 24VDC terminals, I run wires to the 1734-AENT. On the first 1734-IA4, I would think I should bring any power there, because its already back plane fed...….correct? Or DO I run power wires there? Thanks in advance

Using a 1734-IB8 to Count Flow Meter Pulses
Jdeloz828 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello, -I'm considering using an AB 1734-IB8 to count input pulses from a Micro Motion flow meter transmitter and, since I'm very new to this stuff, would like a little guidance as to how/if this can be done. My first concern is the wiring. The manual for the transmitter shows this wiring diagram for the specific model I'm using. Here, B would represent the 1734-IB8 module. I'm not going to be using the analog loop. In addition to this wiring, terminals 9 & 10 on the transmitter will be wired to the same 24V and Common as my PLC modules. The 1734-IB8 manual shows this diagram for wiring. Should I consider the pulse output of the transmitter as a 3-wire device, connect terminal 3 of the transmitter to my 1734-IB8 input terminal and disregard the connection from terminal 4 of the transmitter, or should I just tie terminal 4 to my common? Or, Should I consider my pulse output as a 2-wire device, tie terminal 3 of the transmitter to my 24V and terminal 4 to my input module? My guess is the pulse output should be considered a 3-wire device with terminal 4 of the transmitter tied to my common, but I'd like a little bit of explanation with this. -My second main concern has to do with the capability of the 1734-IB8 module to read pulses. More specifically, I would like to know what parameters of the module I need to research to see if it will be possible to read the pulses from my transmitter in the application I'm considering. If the 1734-IB8 can't be used, I would end up going to a high-speed counter card. Thanks -
Allen Bradley - Point IO - Power Distribution
monkey77 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I am definitely a newbie in the world of PLC's. So I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. I do the electrical design for PLC's and have only done this for a few short months. I am currently working with a Point IO PLC. This is the first one I've seen. Because of the qty. of input and output modules, we had to add 1734-FPD and 1734-EPAC to boost the power. Easy enough, I get that. I bring power to the 1734-AENTR.....then, do I hard wire to the next module, or are the next adjoining input/outs connected view the internal power bus? Same question goes for the 1734-FPD and 1734-EPAC. I understand to bring power to those devices, but do I hard wire to the first module or is it automatically connected via internal power bus? I have done my research before I posted on this site. I think some of the installation manuals for these devices are conflicting., I think that's why I'm so confused. Thoughts? Does anyone know of a good trusted manual for such a question. Thanks in advance -

How to update 1734-AENTR device version in Logix Designer
Jiggadoo posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Hello! I am creating a project with Logix Designer, version 24. In the project I am using 1734-AENTR/B devices in etherner/IP-bus. I find out that there is only old versions of Logix Designer, only Major version 3 and 4 but the device that I have is the version 5. So I downloaded this EDS-file from Rockwell support-pages and installed it with EDS HW tool. After this, I can not choose this device 1734-AENTR/B with Major version 5. How to get this installed version to the project? After installation I have reboot my programming device and there is not RS Linx running in my computer.- 1 reply

Adding 1738-AENTR to Logix5000 system
python01 posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I need to add 1738-AENTR ArmorPoint Ethernet module to Logix5000 system. I have 1756-A13 backplane with 1756-L63 Controller and 1756-ENET/A Communication Interface. I believe I need to use 1738-AENTR add on profile but I can not find it and don't know how to add that to RSLogix5000. Can anyone point me in the right direction? I am using RSLogix 5000 Standard Edition, V18.02.00(CPR 9 SR 2). -
I wonder if there is version of Ethernet Remote IO that can be used with 115VAC supply rather then 24VDC? This would save me a power supply which is really needed for this module only.
