  1. Hello every one. I have three FX3U plc needed to be communicate over a wireless network. I'm using serial adapter FX3U-485ADP. I got E-byte data trans reciver E-30 for wireless communication. Now need help to setup the whole thing. Previously the PLC's serial connectors were connected through a flexible bus but when the platforms are running fast there is interruption in the  communication. So we want those PLC's to be connected over wifi.  Thanks in Advance
  2. Here is a link to a thread on a recent post showing how to communicate serially to an Omron PLC using VB.Net. This uses the Omron Host Link serial protocols. (C-Mode Commands) It will read 10 DM registers and display them on the form.   http://accautomation.ca/implementing-the-omron-host-link-protocol-vb-net/ Here is the source program that can be downloaded. 3. PC-PLC CP1E - USB-to-SERIAL cable

Hi,   I have a self-bought usb-serial cable converter for CP1E. Currently can't connect to my PLC using PC. CX-One says "Failed to the PLC". I am supposedly to use "SYSMAC WAY" as my Network Type in PLC settings?   EDIT: The CPU type is N30   I've checked the following settings: 1) COM number is correct ( as checked from windows Device Manager side) 2) Cable driver is installed, there is no "unknown" driver in my windows Device Manager 3) My RS232C LED in PLC is not lighted up.   Any other suggestions to check settings ive missed out would help, other than buying a new cable for the moment.   Regards, Summerstone
  4. Please assist me with the following; regarding the ME96SSHA-MB Power meter data transition with Melsec-Q series PLC; We acquire to read various values on dedicated Modbus storage address registers at the simultaneous into a Melsec-Q series PLC via Modbus (TCP or RTU)  for calculation purposes. Naturally, since the reading of these variables are to provide accurate instantaneous results, it is a requirement that these values are to be read at one scan.   However, as can be seen below, there is a gap in address register range – of which, if all of these are scanned simultaneously, yields an exception error when read. This error is only avoided by scanning these data sets separately – which is not ideal for our application – since accuracy in calculations is imperative.

  6. Mitsubishi GX Works Bugs??

Hello I have been using GX Works 3 for a while now and I have discovered a couple of things, maybe bugs. I have not had any training for the software or hardware so maybe I did something wrong. 1 Labels. If you sort a global label table into any order other than the unsorted order that appears by default you are unable to create, delete or edit any labels. Our Mitsubishi representative discovered that if you click on the column header between 'Data Type' and 'Class' the order does not change but now editing is available. This, it turns out is a really bad idea. It seems the position the label was in when it was created is preserved, I think this is the unsorted order you get by default. If you sort the list and then delete a label it is possible that the label that should be in that position is also deleted. I have attached a small project to demonstrate this. Open the Global Labels notice the order they were created. Now change the sort order, click on the column header I described earlier to make them editable and then delete the label in position 1. For a while I thought this was the only problem but recently there has been a number of instances where I have created a label, given it a carefully selected address only to discover that it is being overwritten by another variable. I have not been able to work out exactly what is going on but I believe it is connected to the sort order of the labels. Also if you sort the order and change an address, have you changed the address of another label? The only solution I have found is to keep label tables very short so they are managable without having to sort the order, that is probably good practice anyway 1 Axis software limits. I have been using a number of axes in pairs, in incremental mode as caterpillar feeders, using FX5U-40SSC simple motion modules. I had a problem that the axis synchronised to follow would suddenly stop moving, the customer was having to power down the machine and start again. This problem persisted for months with Mitsubishi scratching their heads unable to fathom it out and ultimately stating that the problem must be in my code somewhere. It was suggested by the customer that it may be getting to a software limit, I showed the customer that the software limit was disabled in the setup and it was confirmed by Mitsubishi that it was not the problem. guess what, it is a problem. Once the actual position reached the limit of the double word memory it would stop moving. The solution is the take the servos out of synchronisation in order to set the position (datum) to zero every cycle. Unfortunately the drives do not always re-synch on the first attempt so you have to keep trying till it does, this now causes slight variations in cycle times but it works. Andy EDIT: I have since been informed that to disable the software limits they must be set to zero. This implies that the Enable/Disable setting is invalid and the limits are defaulted to their respective max values. Surely a default to zero would be more appropriate.     Label Test.gx3
  7. NX-105 Received Data

Hello,  PLC: NX1P  Comm module: NX-CIF105   I am running a serial (RS485) network to control several motors. As a trigger for to read the serial port I am using the ( Ch1 Receive Data Exist) bit, which is an internal bit that's ideally should be energized when there's data in the Receive buffer. However, this bit isn't reliable at all. I am reaching out today to figure out if there's another way to trigger the receive command ( preferably without a delay)    thank you all  Cheers!
  8. CP1L connected with scanner symbol DS-4308 reading 2D data matrix,  with RS-232 on board CP1W-CIF01 Hi all, need some help because I can't read the information. Let me explain, I have a PLC, " CP1L-L14DR-D " with a RS-232 option borad " CP1W-CIF01 " , a scanner Symbol DS-4308, and I'm trying to read a data matrix 2d barcode (I don't know if that matters). so I build a cable with the next configuration, (one side male and the other female) PORT CONFIG PIN OUT SCANNER CABLE RJ-50 TO RS-232 PINOUT Maybe I'm missing a connection? a bridge? power supply ? ground?   in the program, I only have this to check the communication,       When my reception flag complete (A392.06), my instruction RXD is going to execcute, reading in D1500 the data. if is any error in communication (A392.04) or overflow (A392.07), my port is going to restart (A526.00) (ignore w0.03) with the followign config: (9600, 7,2,E, RS-232C, End code: Received Bytes 3       and I'm reading only, data on D1500 and D1501, and the data makes no sense.   with the configuration of End Code: CR, LF,          can't make it work, I read nothing. and if I change the END CODE: Received bytes to 4,      don't work. and my flag A392.04 go to ON.   PLC HAS 4 PIN SWITCH, ALL ARE OFF The configuration on the scanner is setting to default and then config to RS-232 Standard.   So, what I'm missing?  bad connections? plc don't support? scanner config? program?
  9. Hi..  someone please help me.. i'm working in omron CS1H-H CPU67 PLC. My struggle is I/O in one particular rung is not getting updated.  Note: the rung is consist of a P_On flag followed by a FB ; all I/O to the FB were correctly assigned. but the inputs inside the FB instance are not getting updated so that the output not updated. can anyone please help me....????   sorry for my poor english... thanks in advance.
  10. Hello. How can I get bit addressing of defined variable in function block? For example: - I define variable type DUINT with name Double_VarI_INT. - I want to get or set one bit out of it (its double word). - If I use Double_VarI_INT.0 I got error. Best regards.
  11. Hello All, What are the methods to get the monitoring data from A series PLC? I know its not supported any more, interface modules are not available...,    So the basically,   If I want to write customer software (may be embedded) what is the protocol I need to follow? I am connected to CPU unit by the way, there is no other modules except few digital and analog interfaces on PLC. Thank you in advance for your direction, direction in any way would help!
  12. I need to run 4 exactly same devices with 4 different controllers. The logic for them would be exactly the same but the IPs and controller names would be different. Is there a way to do it using 1 project file? Basically whenever download is done the logic would be downloaded but the controller name/IP would be left unchanged. They will be connected to the same network so the IPs must be different. I am using 1769-L32E for these and all racks are set up exactly the same. Any ideas?
  13. I currently have certain amount of Recipe data located in form of Excel file on to a PC with static IP address. Is there a way to get that data inside the Nj501 without using an SQL server as I currently have NJ501-1300 which doesn't support SQL. I am okay to send data to the SD card I currently have on NJ PLC as it is easy to get data from SD card to the NJ501.  If there is any example code or a link that helps me create i would be helpful. Thanks in advance. FYI: I am currently using NB10 HMI with NJ PLC.
  14. Greetings, so i create project for FX3U in GX Works2. In my program i use function in ST. That function return array with word(signed). I have a warning: ST FOR i_var := 0 TO n_i BY 1 DO TempNumbs := Numbs; TempDevSetsOnPerTime := DevSetsOnPerTime; QueueBySetOn[i_var] := 0; END_FOR; QueueBySetOn[1] := TempNumbs[n_i]; QueueBySetOn[3] := 1; FOR i_var := 0 TO n_i BY 1 DO IF (TempDevSetsOnPerTime[TempNumbs[i_var]] < MaxSetsOnPerTime) THEN QueueBySetOn[0] := TempNumbs[i_var]; QueueBySetOn[3] := 0; EXIT; END_IF; END_FOR; So, it realy funny, GXW cant return int?   16. Struct as FB input

Hello,  I am trying to define a struct as an input variable for a Function or Function Block. For example the function AddDelimiter (This is a standard Sysmac function), has a input variable with the variable type Struct, an it is possible to couple a struct to this input (See picture below). If i try to make my own function block with a struct or Structure as an input data type, i get the following error (See picture below). When I try to define a struct from the data types (In this case struct: Test) it doesn't give a error. But when I try to couple a struct to this input, that is a layer deeper than the function block struct i get the following error (See picture below). How can i define a struct as an function/ function block input? Thanks in advance.
  17. Hello everyone, I am working with a NB10W HMI connected to a PLC NJ by Ethernet protocol, I would like to know where to start regarding the sending of data from the PLC to the HMI. I have a 50x15 array and should show all those values in the HMI for read / write. How to proceed? I started working with PLC for a while. I'm using Sysmac Studio to programm the PLC and NB designer to the HMI.

  20. Hello everyone, I need the help to do setting of datalink between CJ2 and LOGIX-5324ER. The Allen bradley PLC was programmed by contractor and I have no software of it, so I am doing the network setting in CX-one network configurator. I tried to do the instruction in the Quick Start Guides on Downloads section here under Omron, but I couldn't find the option to register tags in network configurator. Is there anything wrong here? or is it possibly because of that they not support to do a datalink in these version of PLCs? They appeared like these in the pictures.
  21. Hello everyone, my name ia alif from indonesia i have redundancy module 1756-RM2 controllogix5000 Allen bradley. On the module, fault codes appear as EG12. What is it means ?   I have already search in the user manu but there is no explanation about this fault codes.     Thank you
  22. Remote IO

Hi friends , recently i ve been doing some diggings about remote IO cards, in my factory we have a CJ2m PLC and it communicates with remote IO cards with four numbered words (2080.00 , 2080.01, 2080.02....2080.15 ) and there were several dip switches on the IO cards, which were set but i can't understand what was the basis of that settings. So I'd like to know how these dip switches behave and what are the uses of them ?? and how is it possible to have 4 numbered word bits ?? pls help me someone to clarify this, i tried internet, but cudnt help myself !!!  thank you    Here I attach one of the pictures i took of one of the remote input cards.
  23. Anyone ever used a Wait-for digital tag in a C Program? I have to use C in the Red Lion Programs.. but, I'm not at all proficient in C (or anything else for that matter ..) Here’s a nice problem for basic C programming .. I really need to solve it .. but, so far ... can't ... sigh!: I have an actuator that will be commanded to make sine wave motion.  The program that does that, in the actuator’s driver-controller, requires the actuator to first be in a zero position.  Homing has already been done, so the drive knows where the actuator is.  I cannot modify the sine wave program; but, can command a Move Absolute program in the drive, to take the actuator to zero, if it isn’t already there.  When the actuator is at zero, it is “In position” and a digital tag will go True. If the Tag is False, the actuator is not at zero, it’s at some other position,  and only the Move Absolute program can return the actuator to zero. So, when launching this position command program, In a Red Lion G3 HMI, using only Basic C programming, how would you write a control program that would test the status of the actuator’s position, and, finding it at zero (the “InPos” tag is true) would start the Sine Wave program.  And, If the “InPos” Tag is false, would start the Move Absolute program, which would return the actuator to zero, and when the actuator is In Position, would start the Sine Wave program. Here’s the tricky part. It will take only a few milliseconds to start the Move Absolute program (if required) .. but how do you get the “C” control program you are writing, to wait until the actuator actually reaches zero, and the “inPos” tag goes true … which could take several seconds? I don’t believe there is a WaitFor function in “C” , and you cannot send either the Move Absolute, or the Sine Wave program more than once .. so, if a loop is used, it can loop only one time .. presumably with conditional delays. (however that's done)  You cannot use Sleep().. that would be cheating.. the full program must run in the least amount of time, and you do not know how far the actuator is from zero. You could use if (! InPos) or if (InPos) to qualify what programs to run .. but, where does the “Wait for In position”  fit into C Programming?  You might be able to use Continue .. but, ya still have to wait for “InPos” to go True…..before running the Sine Wave.       Thanks Much, Regards, Michael

  25. Morning Guys, For my latest project I need to read a gas sensor via 485 from a Momentum PLC. I've been through the help files, but they seem to only raise more questions than they answer, they only seem to reference PLC -> PLC comms. I've had a play with the 'MBP_MSTR' & 'OUT_IN_MBUS' function blocks, but i can't seem to get anywhere, Has anyone got any examples of reading in data via 485, or can anyone lead me in the right direction?
