  1. I am new to Automation Direct software and how the programs are written. Can anyone explain how they handle the analog outputs? My processor does not support the IBox that makes life easier, so I am having to do it the old hard way. I understand most of the logic of how its done for sending data to one channel but I don't understand how the channel selecting works. Can someone give me a programming example or explain how that works? I am looking at the online manual that Automation Direct provides for you for the analog module but I am having a difficult time trying to wrap my brain around how they do their analog stuff ><
  2. Tia Portal v13 HMI Groups edit

Hi I got a easy one 4 you (I hope) In Tia Portal v13 i like to set op som grafiks on a KTP400 - I make 25 objects and group them to one, and do this 14 times(14 groups of 25 objects). Now i got 14 bits that I like to use to shift these groups from invisible to visible and back, i know i can do it on one objects at a time, buth can i do it to all 25 objects in the groupe in one go? /Sune

  4. Hello all  i'm looking for some software to record a 100 plus channels maybe with an ascii string from a PLC? i want to be able to assign each channel with a unit and a range, flagging feature would be nice.  - selecting the channels i want to view  - auto start recording - save file and start new automatically  -view and create reports  preferably no additional hardware because of the amount of channels. this is to record an operators every move so in events of damage or plant failure we can quickly identify the problem (point the finger)  many thanks dan
  5. Pseudo redundant system

Hello, Our customer asks for a PLC with redundant CPU. Because the process is not critical and from financial reasons we decided to came up with a Multi CPU system. We are thinking there are 3 possibilities: 1. Multi CPU system: 2 CPU. Double each I/O module, one module for each CPU. The disadvantage is that when a error occurs in the CPU no. 1, the error occurs in all other CPU modules and the multiple CPU system stops. So this system is not suitable. 2. Multi CPU system: 3 CPU. The same system. The second and the third CPU will be responsible with controlling the process. First CPU will be dummy CPU, no written logic. 3. Two separate CPU systems each with his own base unit. Here there should be some communication between the two CPU's and one digital output from PLC1 to be connected in one digital input of PLC2 and vice versa. The system has: 16 DI, 8 DO, 8 AI, one QJ71MB91 communication module and one QJ71E71-100 Ethernet module. Q03UDE CPU. One GOT 1455 - should communicate with both CPU's.   Has someone did this before? Or do you have some recommendation which system is simplest or more reliable? Thank you.
  6. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. A separate utility automates the data mapping to your PLC logic.  Features -Serial Master (BASIC required Option); TCP; Slave; Redundancy; More than 5000 accumulative registers; MB CFC (Custom/Private Function Code) Support; Data mapping too – Between PAROCK1 & your PLC logic; Packaged with Rockwell; TCP/IP Interface Module; Volume Discounts; Annual Support Requirements -Rockwell/AB-CLgx processor with v16 or later.  Contact PCI for earlier versions. -If using CPU’s Chan0, you cannot use Chan0 for any other user mode activity. You can use it for non-user mode activities -TCP/IP Interface Modules from Rockwell/AB supported, are: -1756-EN2xx ControlLogix® Ethernet/IP communication modules, firmware revision 5.007 or later -1756-EWEB ControlLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 4.006 or later -1768-EWEB CompactLogix Ethernet/IP web server module, firmware revision 1.002 or later -1769-L30ER, 1769-L30ERM, 1769-L30ER-NSE, 1769-L33ER, 1769-L33ERM, and 1769-L36ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L24ER-QB1B, 1769-L24ER-QBFC1B, 1769-L27ERM-QBFC1B CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later -1769-L16ER, 1769-L18ER, 1769-L18ERM CompactLogix controllers, firmware revision 20.011 or later Other Related Services/Items -Custom PLC Add-on instructions building -PLC upgrades, troubleshooting, applications -PC Windows, iOS5, Linux, Mobile devices Comm. Drivers -Custom development, Technology Transfer Services  -Other Non-AB communication drivers for serial or TCP  -Full control system integration, training, architecture design This driver can be conviniently used with Visual Studio in development of complete large scale complex HMI/SCADA Systems. It can be used to perform advanced reporting MES, analytics, IoT, Big data type apps.
