Hello guys, I got a used Omron VFD from a friend. It was used in an industrial application. It works fine with the integrated panel. I would like to use it to run my drill press. I now try to control it by the so called 3 wire sequence (S1, S2, S3) for Start, Stop and forward/reverse. System does not work as expected, i. e. no reaction on the switches. I'm not sure if I have messed up the configuration of one of the n xxx parameters or if there is a HW problem. With SC open, there is no voltage at that pin (expecting 24Volts?!). I connect a crossover cable between my pC and the controller, then I run the BOOTDHCP server program . Hi all, I will be starting on my MSc in automation in a couple of days so for that reason i have obtained a S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY PLC. This is a new area for me as i have been working in offshore since i graduated from my BSc a couple of years ago. I watched some Youtube tutorials on how the programming is done and i am ready to try it out for myself, but i have encountered a little problem. Problem: I am using the X1 P1 PROFINET (LAN) port as a connection to my PC, this turns the Green Link light on and the Rx/Tx lights blinks orange. Now to the problem, i cannot connect to the PLC through the TIA portal, no matter what settings and connection types i use in the PG/PC interface box. I have had no luck finding leturature adressing how to configure the PC/software and get a connection to the PLC. Do any of you have a PDF or link which can help me through this problem? Hardware: S7-1200 series 1211AC/DC/RLY 6ES7 211-BE40-0XB0 S C-J5PN 1614 2017 FS:05 Software: TIA Portal Version 13 STEP 7 Professional V13 WinCC Basic V13 Thanks Best regards Dennis

Hi all, I have a S7-1200 CPU 1214 DC DC DC and Cm 1241 6ES7241-1AH32-0XB0 communication module.I'm using TIA Portal 14 and i connected cpu but i couldn't connect cm 1241 communication module.When i looked diagnostic i saw" Diagnostics data are not available because the current online configuration data differ from the offline configuration data.".Then i looked for what was the difference.But i didn't see.Are there anyone can help me? Hi all,I tried connect to CJ1M-CPU12 with Host Link Protocol from PC.I sended(without spaces) "@00FA F 00000000 0101 82 0038 0A +FCS *Cr" through peripheral port for read Dm area.But PLC didn't answer.I tried again with 19200 7E2,9600 7E2,115200 8E1.But result is same no answer.DIP switches on the PLC are are ON all of them.I read W342-E1-14 CS_CJ_CP+HostLink FINS ReferenceManual.But I didn't solve this problem.Finally hooked Rs232 Port and sended same code with 19200 7E2.PLC sended to me "@00???".Is peripheral port settings wrong?If it is not what's wrong? Thank you

1756-OF6CI output card - broken wire signal or equivalent?

Good afternoon Mr.PLC forum members. We recently had a fuse blow on the wiring between a 1756-OF6CI analog out card and a control valve (which we have no feedback for - only the 0-100% output). Took a little longer to troubleshoot since we have no feedback and we also don't monitor individual channel status of the card. For input cards (1756-IF8H or IF16H), it's easy enough to use the under-range/over-range or broken wire signal to troubleshoot a blown fuse or bad connection, and activate an alarm. I have been told by our local consultant-technician that there is an equivalent monitoring bit for output cards. Reading the instruction manual for the 1756-I/O cards, the fault channel bits do not seem to have this type of function for the 1756-OF6CI. The fault bits only seem to look at the requested output values, and at the connection between card and PLC itself as far as I can tell. Am I missing something? thanks for your help -
Hello All, I am would like to know how to send a bit from an excel file to an omron PLC through CX-server in order to confirm that I have communication and the excel file is open. At the moment I am reading data from the PLC on the Excel file no problem but I don't know how to do it on the other way. I am attaching the code I have written and the excel file. So the idea is having a cell with a 1 and reading this value as a bit ON on the PLC. Thank you very much in advance I really appreciate it. :)

Hi, i am currently trying to integrate visual studio with advanced HMI tool box to an Omron PLC (cp1h). i am trying to use one of the communication option which is "OmronSerialFinsCom*". But I have no idea how to actually do it. can anybody help me with the setting of the "OmronSerialFinsCom*" properties and where should i download the USB driver for my PLC (cp1h). Hi Everyone! I try to read Analog Data in PLC Master through Salve Module (ECT-21) but i dont see any data, with an Digital Module i can read and write, but with analogic module i can't do anything. The analog module works perfect, i have 4-20ma Simulator and work fine. Modules: PLC: NJ501-1300 Slave: ECT-21 Analog: ADO81-V1 Can u help me? Regads.. -

Hello, I need to communicate Power meters ( GE Multilin EPM 5500P) to GE Multilin EnerVista Software. The present communication system uses Ethernet for communication from LAN Switch to Computer. There are a few existing Power Meters which need to be connected to the Network. The Meters having output ports as RS485. I need to use a convertor for that right. So when I contacted GE they told me to use GE Multilinet Serial to Ethernet Convertor. But due to the price and unavailability of the material I am thinking to use a universal convertor. Is that compatible for Multilin Devices?? and In Case of using a universal Convertor does we need any other drivers for that. Please Help Me.. Hello Everyone. i'm in charge of a biodigester working with an old siemens plc, but today i recieved a cp1h-xa40dt-d with the CJ1W-TC102 temperature module. I need to migrate the programation of the siemens to the new one, but CX-Programmer isn´t so much familiar to me. Basically, the old plc turns a mixer each 20, 30 and 45 minutes and i wanna make the same for the new one, adding a resistance for monitoring the temperature inside the digester. Do you have a program for me to check it out how it's done? I have the source code of siemens, idk i this could help.

Hi Everyone! Where are my experts? I am undertaking a project at work. The project contains analog style motor positioning circuits (operational amplifiers, integrators, and other PI elements). Not that this is relevant to the post yet ;) .It's my first PLC project ever! I am using the Schneider M258 with SoMachine 4.1 The PLC is talking to SoMachine via Ethernet (obviously I have a router between the PLC and my pc).I can Login and run the first POU I created. It's a simple And logic circuit for now. I have a co worker (c programmer) agreeing to help me pass data from my PLC to a browser screen. Although he's not familiar with PLC he's quite skilled writing code. He has wrote a Modbus protocol which allows him to interpret Modbus commands on his desktop. 1) Do I Need any special hardware to pass the data out of the PLC into the Router then into his browser. 2) As a trial can I send him MODBUS commands regarding my AND circuit? 3) How do I create such a command? 4) Is it possible for him to send me Modbus commands to change variables inside my program? 5) Are there web browser "plug-ins" for this idea? Thanks for reading and hopefully all of you can help me answer some of these questions.

So just for anyone might interested, this past one year Omron had completely acquire Adept Robotics (California based robot manufacturer). The products acquired including all Delta Arms and SCARA (Quattro, Hornet, Cobra), also some Articulated / 6-axes robots (Viper), programmed with the ACE software. Other than that Adept also have Lynx AIV whose name is now changed to LD-Series. Aside from having an already established Robot Controller with by acquiring Adept, Omron also developing it's NJ CPU to control mechanical arms that can be user-built, with condition that it uses EtherCAT based Servo Control. The current version of NJ501-4XXX series PLC supports control over Delta Arms (3-axes + Rotation, 3-axes, 2-axes + Rotation, 2-axes), SCARA, and your usual Gantry XYZ+Rotation robot. If anyone interest to discuss something about those do post here, or maybe create your own thread.

In Sysmac Studio, is there a way of addressing Array of for argument sake 100 INT. For ex: TEMP[array 0..99 of int]- AT %W0 If I do that will TEMP[1] be %W1 or I cannot address array. PS: I am currently using NJ501-1300 and Omron NB Screen. I am reading/writing total of 450 variable all comprise of either INT or WORD. I would like to group them together for easy access and keeping my variable table neat. Is there a better way of doing this. Any help is much appreciated.

Hello. I'm trying to talk with different OMRON PLCs over network. You can do this using SEND(090)/RECV(098)/CMND(490). I can't find any FB using IP of destination PLC. From what I have read about FINS you only define: - Destination network number - Destination unit address - Destination node number The problem is, that I have the same node number in different IP ranges. For example: - IP 192.168.1.10 (PLC Node:10) - Master - IP 192.168.1.50 (PLC Node:50) - Slave - IP 192.168.2.50 (PLC Node:50) - Slave - IP 192.168.3.50 (PLC Node:50) - Slave How can I comunicate from master to slaves wich uses the same Node number 50? Where can I define IP Address of slave unit? I can see that Multiway is doing that without problems. Please help.

Hi I have problem with the instalation of CX-One over the instalation it stops and give the message: "Error-3: CX-Server Device Driver(Generic FINS Ethernet)failed to install. Try to install it manually from CDROM (Generic FINS Ethernet Device Driver\setup.exe) at the end of instalation." Then if I go to the CDROM and try this instal manually I got the message about the "Unable to locate CX-server" but CX-server I correctly instal from CDROM with sucesfull finish message. And If I try to start CX-Programer I got the message about missing cdmapi32.dll. So what I can do about this :(

Hello All, I am trying to get an older GP2401H (Proface HMI) to communicate with a newer CJ2H (Omron PLC). Everything I tried has failed. I think my problem is on the PLC side. Below are the details... ...Proface... GP2401H-TC41-24V GP-PRO/PB3 for Windows ...Omron PLC... CJ2H-CPU66-EIP Need to use the serial port on the CJ2H because the GP is only serial (RS232).
