  1. New CP1H

    Yes but not digital I/O.
  2. New CP1H

Looks good but a shame it cannot use the CJ1 digital I/O modules in limited numbers instead of just the CPM1A expansion modules. I normally like to use high density modules and make up my own plugs. Will reserve judgement until I see the price as I was looking seriously at the AB Micrologix for my smaller jobs - it is inexpensive - has Ethernet and serial as standard - has Modbus built in without the need to add a serial port. 80 I/O. It will be interesting to see if Omron supply updates to CX-One free of charge as they have in the past to registered users as it is V1.1 - a minor revision. Hope so. They have done this in the past. CHEEKY!!!!! Cannot get parts fot the DC power supplies anymore. Benn using CJ1 with Controller Link for everything since they came out.
  3. Simulating

Upgrade to CX-One - it has everything!!!
  4. Labview / PLC

Does Labview have drivers available for the Omron and Siemsns PLCs? If not, I would suggest you have an uphill battle. I much prefer Citect that has drivers for almost anything.
  5. Controller Link PC Card

The only reasons I continue to use Controller Link for SCADA systems is that I normally have Controller Link for peer to peer. Cannot trust Ethernet for getting a generator ofdf line when things go pear shaped. Nibroc, you hit the other reason right on the head, the IT guys will not go near it!!!!!
  6. C200he cpu42 processor to C200hg cpu6?

Basically the same but I have not used them for years now. I think there were some differences in the instruction list but not sure. Check the manual for instructions.
  7. Labview / PLC

Not familiar with Labview but SCADA programs normally have drivers. I know Citect has a full set of drivers for Omron, and most other PLCs.
  8. Controller Link PC Card

REALLY!!!!! You have listed a number of fieldbusses, proprietary I/O systems, you name it. Controller Link is an Omron proprietary network, as is Sysmac Link. It is primarily used for peer to peer PLC communications. However, it is also used, with FINS Gateway, for communications to SCADA systems such as Citect, and with Omron CX-Server for communications with Omron CX-Supervisor SCADA system. All Omron CX products use CX-Server to communicate with Omron PLCs and other devices via serial, Controller Link, Ethernet, Sysmac Link etc etc. I would suggest you have a good look at the communications manuals available at Omron Manuals. There are manuals there for all Omron products including PLCs, Motion, Temp controllers etc etc. Most of these have some type of communications available. Further, Ethernet is virtually useless for connecting different brands of PLC to each other because all the different brands use different protocols. For information on all types of fieldbusses I recommend this website. Reading there will keep you busy for days. Fieldbusses Bear in mind these are mainly common fieldbusses and no proprietary ones. Then there is BACnet, GE global I/O running on TCP/IP, etc etc. Could keep going for weeks at this rate.
  9. Controller Link PC Card

is Controller Link. I normally set it up to run at 750k. If I remember correctly, approx 8000 words can be mapped on the network.
  10. NS10 DISPLAY

Set your analogue input into the PLC to average the input.
  11. Prox Problems

What do you mean by ?Are you missing signals or getting extra signals? What is your scan time? How much delay is programmed on the input card?
  12. Controller Link PC Card

Thanks for the info. I only need 3 at the moment but who knows what the future may bring. Bit puzzled about where I got the info only 2 were allowed. These things stick but not where the info comes from. Maybe the earlier versions were only 2 - ISA and early PCI. I am not sure.
  13. Converting from OMRON

Why??? I would rather use a CPM1A or something. At least you can program them on line. If any AB micro I would be looking at the 1100 that can be rpogrammed on line.
  14. Controller Link PC Card

Controller Link is a token ring and there are no crashes. Ethernet really requires managed switches and I cannot see the point in having to run CAT 5 cable all over a building from a managed switch or two just to stop crashes. Controller Link runs quite happily on a twisted pair with NO expensive industrial grade managed switches.
  15. Controller Link PC Card

Hi anonymous I know there is a limit but cannot find the info. I think it is 2 but need to be sure.
  16. differantiation

Yep!!!! And probably the CJ1 shoebox that I hear is on the way.
  17. CJ1 plc comms with E5CN

Refer to my previous post. You can download Modbus communications software for the SCU there. It comes with documentation.
  18. Connection Error to NS7 PT - RS232

Download this Omron Serial Cables I normally use C200H-CN229 cable for downloading to screens and for ASCII cards.
  19. citect & etn21

You could probably write something in Cicode although I understand the latest version of Citect does have array handling but I have not used it. 32 digital tags over Ethernet would not be a problem anyway. The time taken to read them would be absolutely insignificant, particularly if they are contigious. I have over 3,500 tags on one job on Sysmac Link to 9 PLCs and Citect is reporting 15,000 digital reads per second. Sysmac Link only runs at 750kBaud.
  20. CPM1A Info

Quite a few missing there. How about M1R S6 C20 C20P and probably quite a few more that I have forgotten about.
  21. citect & etn21

FINS Gateway for sure. I would not even use Ethernet for Citect but would still, and have always, use Controller Link. Can not really see any benefit in using Ethernet. Controller Link works great. The cost of the PLC Ethernet card is far greater than a PLC Controller Link card but the NIC in the computer is cheap and the Controller Link card for the PC is not. I might add that I normally have multiple PLCs with a SCADA system and use Controller Link exclusively for peer to peer communications so extending it on to the PC is the best way out. You can get the FINS Gateway CD from Citect as a complementary CD. Just make sure you download the lastest Citect FINS Gateway driver from their web site.
  22. Can't use IR100 in instruction?

I did a power station with C200HS PLCs and Syswin. 9 PLCs networked together with Sysmac Link (no Controller Link in those days) and a Citect SCADA over the top. All PLC programs are one section. The total print out for the PLC programs for the project used 1 complete box of US fanfold paper. The printouts did not include cross references. Quite a bit of code!!! The actual program was divided into sections although there are no "broken up bits" as you get with CX. It was not really a problem as, despite the amount of code (one processor had very little memory left), I knew where evrything was in the program. Scrolling up and down to where I wished to be was not a problem at all. That was quite some years ago and the programs have been imported into CX now but still one large section. I can still "whizz" up and down the programs and find what I want even though I have not visited the site for over 2 years. The program was broken up into the same sections I still use today, although I do use the "sections" in CX now but one huge section is not a problem IF YOU ARE ORGANISED!!!! I still prefer that method sometimes rather than the sections in CX. A lot depends where you have come from. I still like CAPS and that was a year or two ago. Hated LSS though and still do.
  23. cjim-cpu23

Omron CX-One software and cable CS1W-CN226. Both can be purchased from your local Omron distributor.
  24. Finsgateway

Whenever I install FINS Gateway it installs in English. perhaps you have a Japanese version and not an English one, although I think it asks which language when you install it. Use FINS Gateway remover and re-install Fins Gateway and select English Language.
  25. RS422 Modbus Slave

Has anyone implemented Modbus slave in a CS1 or CJ1 SCU card? I have to set one up for a BMS system to read data from the PLC. I presume that the port will have to be setup for full duplex. Any help appreciated.
