  1. I'm trying to transfer an application file to a PanelView 1400e and I'm having some difficulty. We currently have 4 of these in operation on machinery and we acquired a spare that I'm trying to get ready. All use the same exact application. I tried using a memory card but none of the PanelViews recognize any of the cards I do have at the moment so that option is out (though at one time we did transfer the applications this way so we did have at least one card that worked in the past). I was able to extract the application file from one of the PVs via Transfer Utility 32 on Windows XP. I am unable to transfer it back to the spare PV. I am using a 9 for 9 straight through serial cable on COM1 of the laptop to the 9 pin DB connector on the back of the PV. I match settings between the PV and the TU32 (baud rate, parity, error). I put the PV on Transfer Application screen on the Serial tab. I open up TU32 and choose the application file (approximately 86kb in size). If I select memory partition 1 for the destination, I get a dialog that pops up telling me that partition 1 is full and it shows me the size and free space on both partition 1 and partition 2. The size for partition 2 matches what I see on the PV on the Terminal Information screen (approximately 2200kb in size and same is free). When I then select partition 2 for the destination and click OK, it asks if I want to format the destination. If I click NO, the transfer fails because "User did not format the destination". When I click Yes to format, the PV starts formatting partition 2 and the progress bar goes up to 100%, then a message comes up that the format is complete, waiting for application transfer. On the TU32 screen, the format progress goes up to 11% then hangs and eventually reports that the format failed. I've done this a number of times and it is always 11%. However, when I click OK and then go back to the main screen on TU32 and once again select to transfer, the PV screen goes into transfer mode with a progress bar as does the TU32. No progress is ever made and eventually I get the 4209 error. 4209 error means the TU32 and PV are not communicating, basically. But I'm confused as to why they initially do communicate but only get to a specific point each time before communications stop. Any ideas? EDIT: Once I get the 4209 error, I click OK, and go back to the main TU32 screen. If I immediately click to transfer again, the progress bar on the PV disappears and a message comes up saying File Download failed-Ready for Transfer. If I click to Transfer again, the progress bar reappears but still no progress and this process repeats. Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
  2. Hello, We have a FX3G connected to a FX3U-ENET-ADP inside a main cabinet. We are then using that master PLC to collect data from 2 other fx3g plcs in a node:node serial network. I was assigned a small project of pricing out some wireless adapters so we can upload/download to the two slave plcs. My question is, is it possible to upload/download programs to/from the slave plcs through the ENET adapter and serial network in the main plc? It would save us some money if possible. thanks.
  3. Dear PLC forum. I have an issue with a customer who has bought some equipment with CQM1H-CPU61 installed. In order to program certain changes the device requires the password. Both I and the customer have contacted Omron but the only solution from their side was to buy a new system. As I have managed to find via googling the password can be recovered with Plc Backup Tools V6.0 software.  Does anyone have the installer for this software and are they willing to share it with me? Thanks in advance.
  4. Hello all, is anybody out there who may read out a program that is stored on a telemecanique cartridge (more or less of 1993)? Program is still running on a TSX 47 40, but have an identical second cartridge. I would send it to him/her even if international post and do not necessarily require the cartridge back. Would be great to have the program as a text file / pdf / hardcopy. Any help appreciated!! Best regards Stefan
  5. I am looking for how others have set up vertical axis motions using the Kinetix 5700 servo system. I have a 2 axis pick/place unit with a horizontal axis (X @ 2500mm) and vertical axis (Z @ 1200mm) that works as designed during normal operation. X axis has no holding brake and Z axis has a factory installed 24vdc to unlock brake. There is a GuardLogix L81ES control system that handles the safety and control. On pressing E-stop/opening Gates the vertical axis will stop the motion, apply the brake and hold with no problems. (2198-D032-ERS3 Drive, 2198-P031 Bus Power, MPL-B430P-MJ72AA X Axis, MPL-B330P-MJ74AA Z axis) The issue that I ran into was an accidental download of the program without activating the e-stop and the vertical axis dropped unexpectedly when entering program mode on the processor. I am aware that this instance was my fault as the programmer, however I am also concerned that this might occur again in the future if the controller ever enters fault mode or someone else completes a download. I have done some investigation with the "ProgrammedStopMode" parameter on this single motion axis and attempted all 5 options and the vertical axis still has a free fall drop for a second before the brake grabs hold - so evidently this is not working for me. (Page 24 of Vertical Load/Holding Brake manual - https://literature.rockwellautomatio...t003_-en-p.pdf) I am curious if there needs to be something done elsewhere as the X and Z axis are set up as coordinated axis? I also am unaware if I need to preform some action/parameter with the bus power supply for this? The current state of the machine as it sits now is preforming a MSF in manual mode after 5 seconds of inactivity or 30 seconds in auto mode. This axis is usually in demand every ~22 seconds. This will shut down the axis after preforming a brake test on the vertical load and seems to function OK, however it is still in the back of my mind the issues mentioned previously if we ever enter a controller fault while indexing.   6. Hello Professionals, I need your kind help. I have an Omron PLC, CQM1H-CPU21 ON FATAL ERROR 0*00E1 (IO Unit Over). The manual says, " rearrange the system to reduce the number of IO words". How do i go about these? I have a similar CPU with same program on a similar machine, I have loaded its program and memory area data to this one on error. Error persists. Thank you.
  7. Hello guys, i would appreciate your help ASAP. I have an Omron PLc CQM1H-CPU51 ON FATAL ERROR 0*00C0 (IO bus error). First, Im using this CPU51 to replace CQM1H-CPU 21 which is on I/O Unit over fatal error 0*00E1. I have changed the cpu type to 51 and transfered the program sucessfully with no errors, I have also transfered the memory area settings to CPU51. what other configuration settings do i need to do? I followed the instructions in the manual and: 1) io unit end cover is well connected, and even replaced with  another, problem persists; 2) PLC has no inner boards; 3) No expansion block 4) Power supply is okay 5)I/O control unit or I/O interface unit not in use 6)Checking through the memory area, for AR 2400 to AR 2415 for the error code, the address here stops at AR 27. How can i view AR 2400 etc?

    PLC doesn't respond to communication requests or responds negatively to such requests. A PLC communication error can occur between the programmable computer and the devices it controls or when the technician attempts to program the device. If anybody have idea then share i am fresher now i learn it from CETPA INFOTECH. I think this is the best place to ask.

  10. FPWin GR Problem

    Hi, I use Panasonic FP0R 32T PLC. Usually i have no problems to upload or download program to PLC. But, right now the Software, FPWin GR cannot perform the download and upload from PLC task. If i do, the software will be not responding and need to be closed.. Anyone know about this?

    We think so we lost the program after a battery replace, because the program isn´t loaded on GOT. Is it possible restore it by the PLC?

    Hello friends, I have been working on Granite Line polisher machine. I have completed the program but there is a requirement for polishing the Uneven shape of granite slab. Has anyone worked on logic of this machine? Can anyone give some idea for the logic or the Plc program. I have seen Chinese machine manufacturers giving this feature.

Hello,, I have motion controller A series A172SHCPUN,, I have written the program ladder into the CPU, but I can't write the motion program.. i dont have the program to open file the program motion and I want to ask if I have the software SW3RNC-GSVE, my os computer is window XP, Can it be installed? and is the cable transfer used the same as the ladder transfer program cable (SC09)?

  16. Hello folks,   I am a rookie, self-training in PLC programming. I have written an SFC exercise (attached ACD file). I also try to call STL written subroutines and add-on instructions, from within the SFC main program. Calling the created subroutine works fine, but calling the add-on instruction fails from a reason which is above my level. I tried, tried and tried different solutions, with no avail. I am either wrong in writing the add-on (perhaps some missing but missing tag ?), or wrong is calling it. Can someone please give me a hint on what I do wrong ?   Thank you, Radu PS .     Hi All, I am new to the forum and new to programming PLC and like every newbie I have a lot of questions - Brief History of me - I had been a Manufacturing Technician for 20 years and recently got my BS on Electrical Engineering and now working as an Equipment Engineer. The main reason that got me interested in PLC's is my degree,  the field that I would like to get into and a recent problem that arise at work. My experience with PLC is very small in programming, some in TS I/O- However I had been studying by my self to the point that I built a test bench to understand it better and in the future create different project for learning purposes Currently I am putting together a tool Alarm delay program - Basically my exhaust sensors trigger an alarm (input signal turns OFF) before its send  the signal to my tool for abort, I want to create a different Alarm which will cause a different response from my tool and delay the original Alarm by 10 min and then trigger the original Alarm - PLC = Panasonic FP0C14RS  Reasons: Create a different Alarm: The response from my tool to this alarm will allow me to return my material back from the tool and put it in a safe spot. Delay the Alarm: Use a timer to perform this tasks - This the time that approx. it takes the to return the material. Trigger the original Alarm: I need to know which sensor was the problem in order to properly TS- So after my timer is complete - I want to know which sensor created the original Alarm My Current problem: I created the LD program, and while the original alarm stays OFF the program works fine - but since my exhaust sensor are always on - If my original alarm is trigger for  a few seconds, just enough to start my Delay Alarm: I dont have a way to know which sensor trigger after my Delay(Timer)is complete,  I reset my relays in order to be ready for new alarm.   Please provide feedback to my program - I know currently is not the best way or efficient way to do this and there are better ways, but my plan is to get it to work and then later revisions improve the way the program can be written   Thanks in advanced for your feedback and help Exh_delay_inv_rev1.pro

  21. Hello.. I have hmi Proface GP-4301TW, USB type B cable and ethernet cable. I want to transfer the program to the hmi but I cant. When I turn on the power of hmi,  a series of test appears and finally it looks like the photo below and I cant enter the offline menu.. can anybody help me to solve the problem?
  22. PLC download problem

    Hi, when I download on PLC (R04), sometimes for example. TON timer's output .Q is automatically set to true even though input is false (also on .ET time is 4h ...??). Also, sometimes some bool variables are also set to true even though they are not set by any kind of logic. However, when I physical reset the PLC (power cycle), mentioned problems don't exist. Does it mean that software reset isn't working entirely correct and I need to reset physical PLC (power cycle) every time after I download on PLC? Regards Luka
