FX3U has the I/O capacity and modules needed to meet this spec (not sure about number of PIDs), but it looks like it may have a problem with 5V rail (short of some 100mA or so). at this moment i'd say go with Q.

I would go entry level Q series, like Q00UJ. Or even Q00. Q00UJ is a PLC, power supply, and 5 slot rack. You would most likely need one extension rack to accomodate all the cards. Q64AD is 4 volt/curr inputs, but Q68ADI or Q68ADV can do 8 inputs per card. There are 16, 32, and 64 point I/O modules. But it can be done with an FX3U-64. Add 2 16-pt input cards, as the base is 32 in and 32 out. FX2N-8AD module offers 8 analog inputs, so 2 of these. You can use the FX3U-4DA for analog outputs (4 of these), and you will most likely need an FX3U-1PSU-5V before the analog outputs for bus power issues.

I have not used this model in a while (or much) - but I seem to think the capacity was 16K

Hi all thanks for the info. I will take a look at the Q serie PLC. Banker

Q00J was 8K. Q00UJ is 10k. And that's actually quite a bit of memory when compared to a small PLC like the CJ1 CPU 13. I've controlled tons of complete projects in under 8k.
