    I was wondering if anybody out there has ever made a generic popup to deal with multiple devices, similar to what you can do with factory talk and wonderware. I want to be able to index addresses from the PLC to the PT memory but it doesn't look like you are able to do this. Is there anybody out there that has come across this same problem?

    hi dears, I have one CS1D omron Redundant controller ( CP65H) that must be connected to NS15 Touch panel. I want to use Ethernet for connecting HMI and CPUs (CS1D-ETN21D). I have one question. for NS15 we can use CX designer and sysmac studio? is it true? which one is better? what is your recommendation for HMI software? Thanks.

  7. GT DESIGNER 3 - "SCREEN ERROR"

    Hey guys, I am trying to fix a problem with a machine for plastic jerrycans production, that i bought in the end of 2017 from a spanish company. That company refuses to help and assist us so i had to search for other solutions.  In short: i need to change a fixed value on the SCADA program of the machine to a variable value and i want to change it on the terminal i have installed on the machine (GOT 1000). The problem is dat whatever i change on the gt designer 3 file (if i move a button or a lamp 1mm to the side or change a letter) and then write it to GOT, when i try to open the screen where i did the modifications i get a white screen saying "screen error". Only replacing the new file for the original one i can continue to use my GOT 1000 normaly. I also wanted to translate some of the words because most of my employes dont know how to speak spanish and have some dificulty using the terminal correctly... I am corrently using 1.37P version of GT Designer 3 but the original file dat came already installed on the GOT was 1.165X.

Hello, I have a .PBW file in an obsolete PanelView that I need to troubleshoot, but I can't open it.  Called AB TechConnect for support, but tech said it was too archaic and he, essentially, needed to start with a Windows98 machine and PanelBuilder 32 to even begin.  FactoryTalk doesn't know what to do with it.  File is attached.  Any suggestions/assistance is much appreciated ABWWTP.PBW

  11. TRANSFER FROM NS15-TX01B-V2

    Hello Forum,We have a NS15-TX01B-V2 at our Plant in Uganda which we are using with a CJ2M PLC. We want to take backup from the PT to PC using Ethernet but we have not succeeded yet. We have consulted the manuals but they are not very elaborate. Someone here may know the step-by-step procedure we can  follow. to achieve our goal. We shall be very grateful.Thank you.

Hi all, Does anybody have experienced problem with communication while connecting  32k and 16k plcs to same SCADA via factory talk linx?   Does anybody have got problem with communication while RSView32 and FTView were used simultaneously with same plcs in different pcs with different shortcut names?
  13. I have a NB7W HMI connected to a CPIH over RS232. I'm connected to the HMI over USB and when I try to download my project, it starts the downloading GUI process and fails at a random time and shows a popup that says "data reading error". The HMI is locked up at this point and needs to be restarted. This is a fresh HMI and has not previously had a program on it. I created a blank project to make sure I didn't do anything weird in my program, but got the same result when I tried to download. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Its made it as far as 50%, and has also failed almost immediately.   Thanks in advance. 

  14. Cognex VC5 Vision Controller

    I'm looking for some help in regards to programming an Omron PLC (CX-Programmer) to control a Cognex VC5 Vision controller to trigger CIC5000 cameras. I have the Ethernet/IP mapping and I am able to send user data to the VC5 controller at this point. I believe there a steps I'm missing within the Cognex Designer program to send notifications to the PLC but I'm not sure where to start. Any help in pointing me in the right direction is much appreciated.
  15. Insert existing attachment A lot of automation cells we get done are made outside of shop so we don't typically have any current acd files for the plc. I am trying to make changes to the program but uploading seems to be giving me some problems. The initial upload seems to work fine I can select a file to save to and I begin to see the file being upload, the problem comes after about two minutes near the end of the upload. Attached is the error I see after the upload stops. Has anyone seen this problem before and know of a solution? Any help would be appreciated. Current controller Studio 5000 Logix Designer 28.03.00 1756-L71S
  16.   Hi all, Iam currently working with a migration project from Rsview32 to FTView. I was able to convert the RSView32 SCADA to FTView successfully. Current scenario is like RSView32 (which was the existing pcs) SCADA is running in two stand alone PCs and Iam trying to line up the new Factory talk view SCADA in another system.Communication is taken from same ethernet switch to which all ethernet cables from 5PLCs in the field are terminated and from which RSView32 scada has taken itz communication. PLCs used there are 2 No.of  1747 L532E slc 5/03 OS302 Ser c Frn 10 & later and 3 Nos of 1747 L533E slc 5/03 OS302 aer c Frn 10 & later. communication taken via net eni (1761 NetEni) Ftview installed system is Windows 10 pro OS) Issue is while RSView32 scada is working properly, Factory talk view is not getting neither online tags nor able to play display for those linked with L533E processor.But everything is fine with L532E processor. I just tried with downloading L533E program to L532E processor and everything was getting. So am i missing something or what should i do to get proper communication with L533E processor.   plz help..Iam a beginner in this field.

I am new in mitshubishi HMI gx designer 3.I have made simple program in which memory bit m0 is used to start counter (limit 5) and M1 bit is used to reset counter. Now when i press reset switch (M1) first it will ask for password then it will reset counter. how can i do this..please suggest. thanks 
  18. Good day, I would like to extract the FT View SE Alarm Log. We currently have got a Excel spreadsheet set up with a connection to the FTAE SQL Database.  When I refresh the data, Excel give an error telling me that the data is more than what can be displayed in a spreadsheet. So it then discards the latest data. I have tried setting a database limit in the Factory Talk Administration console to only keep the last 60 days worth of data but it does not seem to take effect. I get data from January 2017 up to 15 October 2018. Is there a way to configure the ODBC connection in excel to only give me the data for the last 30 days or is there someone that can help me to limit the size of the database? I have attached the current connection config.
  19. Hi. I am new to Allen Bradley PLCs and bumped into the following issue, that I cannot find any solution to. When trying to add a module to the I/O configuration I get the attached error, error code 80131940. This prevents me from adding any hardware configurations in Logix Designer. I have tried to reinstall Logix Designer and uninstall all AOPs. I am running V30.00.00 on a Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 OS. Your feedback is very much appreciated.
  20. Hello I have an old test rig (hydraulic cylinder applies pressure to a crank in sawtooth pattern) project written in gx developer for the Q03 plc. To this plc is connected a 1041 beijer panel, I have uploaded the project to E-designer. I am rewriting the sequence code because a new but similar test is prepared. Have a PID-block in gx works 2 (not in a simple project sadly) i would like to import  and use in gx developer. This is causing me some trouble though.  Can anyone tell me how to get the PID-blocks from GX Works 2 to GX Developer? Do you recommend me to upgrade the project to GX Works 2 instead? How will the panel react? I need to reprogram this as well. Cheers // Rolf
  21. I have a program that I as building in SoMachine V4.3 and Vijeo Designer 6.2. Everything is coming together well at this point but I can't seem to figure out if I can put a poteniometer type object on the HMI using Vijeo Designer. This will be used to control the speeds of some VFD that are connected to the PLC. I have found ways to use a meter or simple numeric input it change the WORD that controls the drive speed. I would really like to use a knob or slider bar as I believe it would be a nice function. I've tried it on two different Magelis screens that I will be using for two different projects. One is a HMISCU8A5(controller and HMI in one unit) and the other is a HMIGTO3510.   Thank You

Hi guys,  I have been trying to sync up my RSLogix 5000 tag to GT Designer 3 (GTD3) objects but I noticed that GTD3 only recognize certain native data types from Allen Bradley Logix5572 Controller (Model 1756-L72).  In the documentation that I found, it show that certain AB Native Tags are transferable to GTD3 Data Type (See the attached file "AB Tags to GTD3 Tags" ) One of the User-Defined Data Type from the RSLogix 5000 that I am trying to sync to Text Display Object in GTD3 is called "UDT_MY_CLTR_INFO" here is it's hierarchy of inheritance from RSLogix 5000     Name                                                                     Force Mask                                                                                   Data Type MY_CLTR_INFO                                                     (...)                                                                                                 UDT_MY_CLTR_INFO      MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME                                                                                                                                           STRING           MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.LENGTH                                                                                                                      DINT           MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.DATA                                                                                                                           SINT[82]    In my exported tag which is a CSV file, it doesn't list the sub-classes MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME, MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.LENGTH, and MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME.DATA, it would only list MY_CLTR_INFO.  How do I link up my "Text Display" Object in GTD3 with the tag "MY_CLTR_INFO.NAME" whose Data Type is STRING and GTD3 does not have a STRING Data Type?  I appreciate anyone that took their time to read my problem and any attempt to help me out.
