  1. PAROCK1 for HMI/SCADA View File Now a software solution is available for your Modbus (MB) needs in Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Control Logix or Compact Logix (Clgx) family processors, instead of a traditional 3rd party hardware like Prosoft MVI-56, Molex SST-SR4-CLX-RLL etc.  It is an Add-on instruction (AOI) for PLC/PAC firmware v16 or later, (other solutions are available for pre v16 systems).  For hardware interface, use PLC’s channel 0 (serial) or TCP/IP Interface module(s) to have as many MB TCP/IP devices or serial devices.  (Some limits apply based on system configurations, Comm. settings depending on HW used.) Connect any MB Client/Master or Server/Slave device(s) to your CLgx PLC, including flow computers, analyzers, VFDs, Power Monitors, Level gauges, Smart I/O, etc.  All the MB public/native function codes are supported.  32-Bit integers/floats as single entity are supported with byte and word level swapping. A separate utility automates the data mapping to your PLC logic.  Features -Serial Master (BASIC required Option); TCP; Slave; Redundancy; More than 5000 accumulative registers; MB CFC (Custom/Private Function Code) Support; Data mapping too – Between PAROCK1 & your PLC logic; Packaged with Rockwell; TCP/IP Interface Module; Volume Discounts; Annual Support Requirements -Rockwell/AB-CLgx processor with v16 or later.  Contact PCI for earlier versions. -If using CPU’s Chan0, you cannot use Chan0 for any other user mode activity. 2. Hi guys, I'm using NJ501-1320 for the first time, but i'm having a hard time trying to get the information read from another PLC connected to the switch. I have successfully established the connection to the database, and write some values to it. The main problem now is sending the values in memory, to that same database. So i'm reading the values using an array [0..9] of word, and then converting the same variable to string. The instruction receive doesn't have no reference in the manual, so i don't know if the problem is there. Any help would be aprecciated. Thanks
  3. We have just replaced a PLC-5, RS Logix 5 PLC with Control Logix I'm having encoder count issues with the new HSC, I have it configured and wired similar the old 1771-VHSC However, now my encoders only count up or down NOT BOTH?? I have the channel on the HSC set for Encoder 4X, with a preset and a roll over. ANY IDEAS? THANKS !!
  4. How to take single bit form input WORD by Structured Text? Can i write somethink like: inVar[i]
  5. Can anyone advise if there are data structure #s associated with each of the data types in Logix?  Example if it is a Bool, I believe Logix advises it is a 32 bit number.  But is there an "under the hood" data type reference number for each Logix data type?  I.E.  if it is a Bool, that is a RA data type #1, if it is a DINT, it is a RA data type #2, etc.
  6. HERE’S IS A QUICK WAY TO SEND EMAIL (TEXT) MESSAGES FROM THE PLC Sending email messages from the PLC sounds like an easy task. However, very few applications do this on the production floor. This is probable due to the networks involved and using authentication can be complicated. In our example we will use a restricted Gmail SMTP server so no authentication will be required. We will walk through sending email and text messages from the PLC to Google Gmail. Once in your Gmail account, the message can be automatically forwarded to another verified email or SMS text message address. HERE’S IS A QUICK WAY TO SEND EMAIL (TEXT) MESSAGES FROM THE PLCThe PLC used in this case is the Do-More from Automation Direct. The software is Do-More Designer. Here is a blog post that I thought was good to share. Let me know what you think. Garry http://www.accautomation.ca
  7. Hello! I am programming with FT view studio version 8. In the program, when I make numeric display, I can not input values for this tag I am using in the display. Then I decided to make 'invisible button' for enabling the input for this tag which is shown in the numeric display. This is okey for me, only if there is other ways to do this please tell me. Now when I have created this numeric display with input enabling -'group', I have a problem, how can I use security levels for this group, so that only logging in values can be set? I have found that there is security code selection for this in the screen displays, but not for the buttons.
  8. Hello: I'm not sure how to go about creating the structure of this program, would like some ideas/help. I have a program that checks/reads 8 analog inputs and compares each input against 4 different settings, if the value is outside any of these settings the program runs a subroutine to send out an email for (Alarm/Event) notification for that particular input. The way the program is structured now is that it reads analog input 0 first and checks against the settings if the reading is not in range it will call a subroutine to send out email for that sensor(analog AI:0.0) then it will return and read for Analog input #1 and check reading and if it needs to it will call another subroutine to send out email for that sensor(analog AI:0.1) and so forth. What I need to add, is a way to count how many times a sensor(input) has sent the alarm email because I want to limit this to 5 notifications after that, stop sending emails. Now this has to be done for each sensor(input).(Note: I would also like to have a timer involved so that it will only send emails about every 15 minutes for 5 counts.) I need this because the plc will send out emails until the error for the sensor has been corrected, this could take a few hours and if I don't have some sort of control, that would result in 1000's of emails being sent and world probably get shut down for spamming. Would like some ideas on how I should go about this. I am using a micrologix 1100 and rslogix 500 software. Thanks
  9. Hello! So I have this issue with me by this week. I have an NJ with unit version 1.00. I had not did any download/upload on this unit. Due to the need of showing using Password capability on Function Blocks, I need to upgrade the unit firmware version, so I changed it to 1.10. After that I tried to program a simple two Sections program. I left the CPU for a week, then when I get back to it, I upload the program from the CPU. And the upload was SUCCESSFUL! No errors are shown. However all of the Rungs inside each Sections contains nothing. Even though the two Sections that I made before are still present. The program itself is still working though. If I open the previously saved project, going online and do variable controlling, I'm still able to do so. Has anybody experienced this before? Any suggestions / solutions? Thank you...
  10. Hello everyone! First of all, I'm a new comer to this forum from Indonesia. The name's Inno. Looking forward to share knowledge with all of you So I had this trivial, but annoying matter with CX-Supervisor Text Points. I had connected it to NJ101 controller. There I made a sample STRING, let's say "1234". I set this STRING to be stored in D0 memory, which means in ASCII it'll now contains : D0 = #3132 D1 = #3334 Then I use the Display Value (Text) Action to a Text Object in CX-Supervisor. The problem is, each Word on the Point display the LSByte first. So the resulting view in CX-Supervisor is : "2143", while I expect to see "1234" I know this can be easily solved by swapping the bytes inside the NJ program, but I'm curious, does CX-Supervisor has the feature to swap these bytes automatically? I mean, even NS or NB HMI can do so to accomodate Mitsubishi/others String system :D This occured for any Text type I choose (Signed/Unsigned/Raw Binary). Waiting for your suggestions

  13. I successfully read the input and output of OMRON PLC CPM2A with Indusoft web studio (IWS) by using OMPLC driver. I have select OMPLC driver (Serial Com). Then configure a driver worksheet. The driver worksheet is the place that PLC tags are associated to InduSoft tags. I successfully read the I/O but I failed to write the I/O of PLC by using IWS. Can you help me? It is difficult to find OMPLC Standard Driver Sheet (SDS) for control relay output block (CROB) and Analogue output block (AOB). The attached diagram shows My Standard Driver Sheet (SDS) setup. Thank you for your kind cooperation. Zack Malaysia
  14. Omron IA221 input cards

Hi all, I recently got an old rima rs-12 counter stacker working. It was out in the plant working flawlessly until apparently the wires going into the power supply magically ripped themselves out. The operated hooked the wires up again but mixed them up(both black). When he powered up it instantly tripped a breaker inside the machine. He switched them and turned it back on to find that the flippers and pusher no longer work. The two omron IA221 input cards that control the flippers and pusher no longer have lights on them and I have found multiple open and short capacitors on the cards. The cards are 110VAC and I'm thinking the reversed polarity shouldn't have affected the cards, perhaps there is a greater problem I need to resolve before repairing and installing the cards. Could this have damaged the PLC itself? Any information will be greatly appreciated. I know it isn't really a PLC problem(or maybe it is.)
