  1. Open the "ToolChest" window and the "View Scripting Drawer" select "Sleep" or "WaitUntil" and consult the "Companion" window. For more information on a topic select the topic (i.e. "Sleep") and press "F1".

  2. Sorry, I can not help with that cable, as I have not tried it, but with this one http://gefanuc.bnsi.net/eforum/showpost.ph...amp;postcount=5 You will need to set all advanced setting to their defaults with baud, parity, and data bits to match the Hardware. Again, if the hardware is at the default value of 19.2k baud, Odd Parity, 8 data bits, match the sotware to this. Do you know what the hadware is set to? This is sometimes changed to use modems. How long is the cable you are trying to use? Is the 15 pin connector on the powersupply or a different module? Is the "Ready" LED of the CPU "ON"?

  3. According the PME instructions for adding a font to a QuickPanel Target: The Warnings will continue because PME has no way of knowing what fonts have been added. In PME version 5.6 the warnings will only show up the first time you do a validate, or after cleaning build folders.

  4. ...Adding to the good advice from Steve, and maybe in defence of the machine builder/programmer. As these are version 2 units they may have been programmed with version 2 software. QuickDesigner version 2.xx had the "Include Project with Download" falg set to "NO" as its default, many people did not realize this until it was too late. Hopefully your machine builder has a backup .PRJ file that they can send you. But generating a .PRJ file was also a separate step that many people new to QuickDesigner did not take. It pays to take the time to read the instructions, then and now.

  5. I have never seen nor heard of this before, with any PLC. But I did not like this model and never recommended or sold it unless the customer insisted. I would be interested in seeing the logic, but I do not have one of these to try it in. This PLC had one-shot contacts that some times acted strange. Do you have the latest software patch?

  6. Sorry that I can't help you with this. But I can relate to this comment.Howerver: As an integrator you should be aware that if you can not get the help needed at the first level of support you can "escalate" to the next level and the help you need, do not be timid in asking. If you need more assistance with this, call your rep. or distributor to get you the authority needed to escalate the case. You SHOULD NOT be having theses kinds of problems with tech support. It may not always come in the desired time frame, but I have never "not gotten my issues resolved".

  7. My first thought is "maybe he missed a step"? What exactly are the steps to take? Did you get these "steps" from a competent GE Fanuc Enginner or a salesman? Do you have the proper version of Maxon to be used with PME? Are you using the proper version of PME to use Maxon? You may want to send these questions to support@gefanuc.com Sorry for all the questions but I have not done this myself but I know that Maxon is very fussy.

  8. 1. Put the Supplemental CD in and view the tutorials on it, even the ones that you may not use. They will give you a "feel" for the SW. 2. You will need all of your LM90 apps up-to-date and you can not import backups. So try to install Proficy ME on the same PC as LM90 or copy all programs that you will be importing to a network drive that you can access from your PME PC. 3. Get to know all of the PME 'Windows' especially 'Navigator', 'Companion', ToolChest, and 'Inspector' 4. Take your time and get to know the new tools that you have, they will save you a ton of time in the future. 5. Do not assume that everything will work just like it did in LM90, most does but there are many new short-cuts available. Even a couple of things that you can not do, like side files. But LM90 does not have the ToolChest. 6. Learn how to use the ToolChest, one of the tutorials. 7. Have fun with it.

  9. If this is Cimplicity PE (HMI) and you are running Windows XP, you can execute a program called osk.exe in the /Windows/system32 directory. This can be done with a Macro. This is an OnScreenKeyboard emulator that gets installed with the Microsoft Accessory options and is part of Windows XP Setup so if you can not find it, it's easily added. Or you can searsh the internet for "virtual keyboard" there are several to choose from, from free - expensive.

  10. In Proficy ME you place the coursor to the left (by default) of where you want the new column and select the menu 'Insert > Column' The default can be changed to insert to the left of the highlight box instead of to the right.

  11. Scroll up to the top of your ladder logic and select 'Variable Declarations' (or similar) and press F10 (zoom). In the Main block all variables will be global, if you do this in any other block these variables will be local to that block only.

  12. The main things are that the bus is properly wired and terminated and that the hardware configuration of each I/O device "EXACTLY" matches the Bus Controller hardware configuration. This includes any diagnostic data. Make sure that all I/O modules and NIU are properly powered. Double check your carriers and modules for bent pins etc. Also there seems to be too many DOA carriers.

  13. NO, your best options are either:1. Replace the CPU with one that has extra serial ports (IC693CPU363) or an Ethernet port (IC693CPU374) 2. Replace 2 16pt. input or output modules with a 32pt module. 3. Add a second rack.

  14. I can only guess. It was common back then to use a CPU rack with I/O in it and a Genius Bus module as a 'remote I/O' rack. In this form there would be minimal logic, if any in the CPU. It was only needed to configure the rack. Quite often these were low end CPU311, CPU313 or CPU323 racks, which would give you a full 5 or 10 I/O slots as the CPU is built into the rack.

  15. If you are right this should fix it. moslow_v132.zip The current software is called 'Proficy Machine Edition Professional'. You can get information here: http://globalcare.gefanuc.com/ Other older packages are: LogicMaster 90-70 (DOS) Cimplicity Control (I'd stay away from this one) VersaPro Professional (Windows software but "old")
