Hello, I am trying to do something tricky today by simulating an IQ-R plc(R08CPU) in gx works 3, and to make it connect to Fernhill SCADA as well. All done on the same PC. My goal is to see that I can make the IQ-R series work with Fernhill as that is also a question I want to solve before buying the PLC and I was hoping I could use the simulation for this. I have tried searching if this is something that will work at all and so far I have not found anything... It feels like it is a very special case to have both the simulation and the SCADA on the same pc for one, second is that I don't know how the simulated PLC's IP address will behave, I cannot ping it for instance. The first step of my issue is, My simulated PLC has an IP address. In my mind I should be able to ping this address on my PC, which I cannot. If I cannot use the simulated PLC's IP address, I will have a hard time connecting it to the Fernhill SCADA. Second step/question is, will the Fernhill SCADA be able to work with the simulated PLC? help is appreciated!

Hi everyone, I recently started in the automation industry and am currently working on an Omron project. So I have two programs, one on Sysmac Studio (which has the HMI) and the other on CX-Programmer. I am trying to simulate both simultaneously using the Sysmac Studio HMI. Is there any way I can do that where for example I can toggle stuff on and off from the Sysmac HMI and get feedback from the CX-Programmer ladder? Thank you in advance.

Salutations! So recently I'm very confused with my CX-Programmer. Everytime I tried to run the Simulator from CX-Programmer, I always got a notice that a certain program called KickEngine.exe is about to Run. I look up for this program and found it inside CX-Simulator folder, so I decide to run it anyway. The problem is the simulator always return the error : "The selected port does not exist". In other words I cannot run the simulation. I understand that the simulator uses ControllerLink comm. between CX-Programmer and CX-Simulator, so I tried to run those two separately and build the connection, but also to no avail. Even so, since CX-Programmer 9.0, I believe there is no need to run the programs separately. Before I had a similar problem where the simulator cannot be run, and the error code is "Failed to Start Ladder Engine". This was solved by removing whole Omron software using CX-Remover, then reinstalling again. However, it doesn't solve the current problem. If possible I don't want to resort to reinstalling the whole OS... T_T Anyone has suggestions or ideas? I had lookup on an older thread and tested the measure taken there, and didn't solve this. Thanks!

Hello! Is there any possibility to connect a Mitsubishi PLC to a program like Siemens Plant Simulation? With Siemens PLC I can do it through OPC UA protocol, or Shared Memory with SIMIT, or stuff like that. But I would need to do it also with Mitsubishi PLC. Can I use for example OPC Server? I couldn't find out, if Mitsubishi PLC-s have that function built-in. (I have a L02 and a FX3S COU, either of them would be great.) Thank you!

MachineExpert Vijeo Designer simulation
dbozic posted a topic in Modicon / Telemecanique / Schneider Electric
Hi guys, I installed new MachineExpert v1.2 and Vijeo 6.2.9 on Win10 machine. When connecting simulation PLC to Vijeo to test my application everything is good. I go to PLC and check the nodename (see the pic attached) which I put in my Vijeo application and everything works. Issue is, because of my hard drive capacity I am forced to work via VM (but this is my preffered way also because of number of PLC softwares used). When I installed from the same installer (everything same as my local Win10) on Win7 VM when I run simulation I get empty space where the PC simulator should be visible which nodename I should type in Vijeo. Also I noticed when going to gateway management console in VM the process is active, same parameters as in host machine. Turning off the gateway on the VM turns it off as well on the host. Is there a known problem of connecting to simulator on VM? Or win10? Unfortunately I don't have Win10 VM to try right now.. Anyone can help? Much appreciated!-

Is it possible to simulate a servo axis in Sysmac Studio? Can you create a virtual axis and then set velocity & position for this virtual axis? If this is possible, is there an example program that anyone can share with me? Thank you. Happy new Year!

Hi, there! I had got GX-Developer Ver.8, which is very different from the plc programs that I have learned before. I have read many tutorials and watch it but I still don't know how to start ladder logic test. Many other people simply click on 'start or end ladder logic test' but mine was greyed. Anyone has solution? Or I just missed a couple steps of simulation? Though it is very basic problem, I will put a deep gratitude for your reply.

Factory IO Provides A 3D Simulation of the Process
gclshortt posted a topic in Computer Help and Networking
http://accautomation.ca/plc-programming-example-process-mixer/ Factory IO provides a 3D simulation of the process. Testing of the program is important and should be done in a variety of ways. Factory IO provides a straight forward method of seeing your program in action before you wire your application. The above URL link will take you to our example process mixer. We use Factory IO to simulate the application. Factory IO will communicate Modbus TCP to the PLC. Factory IO Website is at the following URL: https://factoryio.com/ Documentation is well done. Start at the ‘Getting Started’ at the following URL: https://factoryio.com/docs/ You can get a free 30 day trial at the above address. Regards, Garry-
