Updated Clock logic and HMI screen simple and well documented. To use this, 'Import' this 'Toolchest' Drawer file into your PMC's Toolchest. Then 'Copy' one of the Ladder Blocks into your 90-30 or PAC Rx3i Target by holding down the Ctrl key while drag-n-dropping it onto the 'Program Blocks' in the Navigator window. The QuickPanel Screen along with the 'Indexed Message Grid'  can similarly be brought into your QP or QP+ Target. If there is already variables in your project you may need to adjust some or all of those used here. The logic here also will help you to understand the Array_Move Function blocks in PME.

  6. Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster. I am tasked to make a couple of module specific function blocks for communication between our Mitsubishi PLC (GX IEC Developer 7.04) and a B&R remote IO over Profibus. A number of these blocks would then be used, depending on the RIO setup. Reading should be straight forward, just read X amount of words, starting from address Y. Writing is trickier as Mitsubishi prefers 16/32 bit Data whereas B&R batches Data in bytes! As I have several output modules in the RIO. I need to send my info "chained" together. Example: Module 1: 2 Bytes Module 2: 3 Bytes Module 3: 2 Bytes Totals: 7 bytes or 4 words. Sending the first word is no problem. Neither is the next two words (I will just have 1 empty byte at the end of the third word). But then the info to the third module should start in the middle of the third word. Any idea how I could solve this? Experimental: At the moment the blocks have inputs (bits), which are stored to a bit-array inside the block and then linked to an output. My idea at the moment is to merge all module-wise output bit arrays to one big bit array, converting that to INT and sending it off to the Profibus address. But I have not yet found a way to merge the arrays and shift them so all data is where it should be. Above example: ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..23] OF BOOL + ARRAY [0..15] OF BOOL Totals: ARRAY [0..63] OF BOOL or [0..71] counting the spare byte. Converted to 8 Words and forwarded through Profibus. Thank you in advance.
  7. I'm using the connected component workbench software and the Micro830 plc is there a way I can tell how much memory is left? I have done some programming on the Micro830 and with just a few rungs and variables it is already reporting out of memory.
  8. OMRON CJ1M CPU 21

Hello to all Since a certain time I've noticed that the parameters values sent to the plc via IHM are not anymore recognized by the plc I'm obliged to re-enter other parameter values to see the machine working fine again. The plc reference is: CJ1M CP 21 The IHM reference is NS10 What would be the problem,? Best regards.
  9. I am trying to find a way to do a "batch monitor of Global Labels" in Mitsubishi GX Works2 Software. I can monitor Device/Buffer Memory Batch but can't find a way to monitor all Global Label's status online? Can anybody help me on this?
  10. Hiya Guys, New here (first post!) - and I'm fairly new to Connected Components Workbench, so apologies for the mammoth post! I am currently developing a System using one Micro850 PLC and one PanelView C600 HMI. I am able to update the current HMI time by sending Unsigned-Integers to Global Connection Tags: System Clock – Hour ($SysClockHour);System Clock – Minute ($SysClockMinute);System Clock – Second ($SysClockSecond); However, if using the same “update time” more than once, this method does not work as the HMI is looking for a “change” in a Tag before an update occurs (Tag-specific). For example, we require to be able to receive a “synchronisation signal” on a digital-input on the PLC each day at 15:00:00. This will only work once as, even though the HMI’s current time updates every second, I will still be sending the values “15”, “0”, and “0” to the above Tags (which will therefore not force an update – as they haven’t changed). I cannot reset these Tags without updating the current Time – as any number “out of range” causes an error (incidentally the errors are shown on the HMI to occur on Tags “SysClockSecondTimed”, “SysClockMinuteTimed”, and “SysClockHour” – note the omission of the word “Timed” on the Hours error…). There appears to be no reference to these “Timed” Tags anywhere in CCW, and I have no idea why the “Hour” update errors on a different (the correct?!) Tag. It’s a pretty confusing problem and difficult to explain… it took me a while to get my head around it – and I can see what the code is doing! J I've looked for documentation on how these Global Connection Tags work, but I can't find anything. Everything I (think I) know so far is from extensive testing... so if anyone knows of any documentation, or has any suggestions as to how I can achieve the required result - that would be massively helpful! Thanks for taking the time to read all this! Cheers, Steve.
  11. Non-volatile memory GX Works2

Hi all, Im trying to figure out how to create non-volatile memory tags in GX Works 2 (using a FX3U controller), so that the values stored in the D registers won't keep zeroing out every time the controller powers down. Does anyone have any helpful tips on how this is done? Thanks
  12. Hey guys, sorry for all of the newbie questions, I had 1-2 years of PLC training at a tech school, and then I got a job where I didn't use my knowledge at all for 2 years, and now my current job is all PLCs, and I have forgotten some of the stuff I learned, but it's coming back to me, so I appreciate all the help with the stupid questions. Anyways, here is my question. I am using a MicroLogix 1100 running RSLogix 500 to collect data on a few of our machines about scrap parts and run time vs down time. I just have some basic inputs hooked up to it. I need to be able to send the data to an integer file at the end of every shift, and then reset the current data (easy enough for me, at a certain time I will use a MOV function to move the info from the timers and counters to integers and then use a RES function to reset everything that I want). Anyways, my question is how to I tap into the free running clock built into the MicroLogix 1100? I see that it is S2:4, but I am confused how to use it or set it. I just set one up on a SLC 5/05 and that was super easy, I just set the time while it was online, and then used 3 different COMPARE functions to tell it when I wanted to move/reset the data (I used S:40, S:41 and S:42). Anyways, I can't seem to figure out how to tap into this clock on the MicroLogix 1100. Can anyone help me with a "dumbed down" step-by-step guide. I just want data sent at 6:30, 14:30 and 22:30 and then data reset 2 seconds after each of those times. Any help is truly and honestly appreciated and very useful. Thank you in advanced. Howard
  13. Hi there, I have trouble understanding the "mechanics" of STL programming language for Siemens S7-300 PLC. For instance I have a code which looks like this (taken from the Siemens manual for extended pulse timer): With regards to the first line, AND operator checks whether the state of I 2.0 is '1'. According to the "Bit Logic Instructions" manual, it also ANDs the test result with RLO. Now the question is - what RLO is it if there are no operations beforehand? What memory area does it use for that particular RLO? Moreover, what is the Boolean bit logic string in this case? I presume it is all the lines up to the '=' sign. The confusion is also caused by instructions (FR, L, T) which are not logical operations or RLO, although there is associated memory bit with them. I'd be grateful if you could clarify this matter? Many thanks!
  14. A2SH PLC

I have encountered memory backup battery failure/fully drained in MITSUBISHI A2SH PLC.So RUN LED started flashing on PLC. Thus no field parameters values were being shown on HMI. I connected PC with PLC through serial RS232 cable using GX DEVELOPER 8 , the connection test was successful. Then I tried to download my project saved on PC to PLC, then I was amazed as It asked for a keyword. However when the backup battery was working , I downloaded the same project but it did not ask for any keyword. Can anyone explain this. Now the real problem is that the program was developed by somebody long ago , to whom I don't have any contact right now and I m helpless as I don't know the keyword and can not download the program and thus my machine is at halt. I tried to clear the user memory from online menu , but it says the function not supported. I m stuck and frustrated . Anybody 's help is greatly appraised in anticipation. Of course I m not asking for hacking a keyword. Just to know how can I make my system functional. Thanks everybody.
