  1. I'm trying to overlay a text figure on top of a bit lamp. You'd think it'd be easy... but no matter what layer I set the lamp to, or how many times I click "Move to back of layer" from "Stacking order" in the right-click menu, the text figure stays behind the lamp. The only reason I'm using a text figure vs. just using the text function of the lamp is because I want the text to be vertical - a feature that you do not have with the text function of a lamp. Any ideas on how to fix this? Any help is greatly appreciated!
  2. Mr Configurator trouble

Hello good morning, I would like to comment on a case, I have a MR JE A 20 driver, it is connected to a plc and it moves a clamp. The fact is that I have variations of distance until it reaches stops and skips the inverter by overload. Well my question is the following, I want to use the mr configurator, I downloaded it, but it gives me a drawback when I connect it I figure as the driver, but in the program it only appears offline, I can not revert, it will be because the Plc Thank you very much for your reply
  3. Hi, I have encountered an unexpected "PRI" LED indication of 1756-RM Series B module. When the affected redundancy module is set to primary, the status of the "PRI" LED indicator is blinking red. On the other hand, it is set to a solid red when the RM is set as secondary. I have read the manual and there are only two expected behavior for the "PRI" LED indicator, green if it is set as the primary and off if it is secondary. Does someone encountered this scenario already?   P.S. The RM does not have any minor/major faults when accessed. The status indicator indicates "PRIM" when the affected module is set as primary and "SYNC" when set as secondary. Manual switchover between controllers are done and was successful. Thanks in advance! Regards, RIValencia
  4. Hello everyone, I have difficulty to setting up the GSM configuration or the serial RTU configuration so that I allow you with another RTU. I use Schneider CPU Modicon M340 in conjunction with RTU communication NOR0200H and a Modem Schneider SR02 MOD02. 5. Good day Please assist me - pertaining to the QSeries GXWorks2 Programming  - and in particular the utilization of the macrocode functionality. The information required includes; [1] Purpose of macrocode (incl advantages) [2] its utilization's effects on the PLC programming memory (it appears that it consumes more programming memory. [3] any reference documentation that could be used - containing specifically information regarding this feature (note most manuals doesn't discuss this)
  6. Hi, I'm trying to convert a binary string format to integer using Q03UDE CPU. String data : '1001' Expected Result :  9 Kindly help.
  7. Hi to everyone,    I have done an intense search on the web and this form, also went on to the download section here to try out a simple RS232 program, so far I can't get it work. Long story short, I am working on a PLC CP1E( w/ built in RS232) to communicate with the PC hyper-terminal . PC will send a string of messages to the PLC, then the PLC will convert the message to a pulse parameter, eg. computer will send ( 90, 40) to PLC, then the PLC will take the string 90 to pulses parameter( PLS2) and 40 will be the duration period. I am willing to learn and try out your sample program, let me know! THank you in advance.
  8. hello everyone, I'm trying to connect PC with Micro830 with RS232 cable for transfer serial data. However, the PLC can not receive the character from PC. I used ARD function block to read the characters from PC.  there is no error and the output of ARD function block is 0 when I debug ladder programme. the serial communication state LED illuminated once I send a character from PC to PLC. the channel of input is 2 which is the embedded serial port. I use an adapter from USB to RS232. Email: jeremietang531@gmail.com
  9. MX Sheet IQR?

Anyone know if MXSheet will talk to the R series CPUs?
  10. prosoft gateway CCLINK

Has anyone used EtherNet/IP to CC-Link Local & Intelligent Station Gateway of prosoft? is there a timeout issue even with a small network of 2 Q CPU and 1 controllogix connected via etherned? I need to read and write data to and from 2 Q CPU and Clx so I am considering this as an option.   editted: not lag but more of timeout issue if there is simultaneous read write from both melsec and clx with 3 DINT words.
  11. Mitsubishi iQ-R Series

Hi Has anyone got any real life experience with the new Mitsubishi iQ-R series?  I have been assigned a major capital project to replace our old ageing DCS system.  Our current PLC backbone is about 40x Q2ASHCPU, 10x Q06UDEHCPU and about 2xA2SCPU all linked up via Melsecnet/10 network with communication links into the DCS system via Modbus RTU utilising the QJ71MB91 modbus card. Due to the nature of my companies process and the limitations on plant downtime it is estimated this project could take up to 5 years to complete, with this in mind I am wanting to install a system that will not be obsolete (or unsupported) in a few years, hence, I am very interested in the new iQ-R series with it being Mitsubishi's latest and greatest.  However, recent communications with my local Mitsi rep is not filling me with confidence that the iQ-R series is not as well supported/developed as the Q series.  A major requirement during the development stages of this project is the new ability of the new processors to be able to talk to the old DCS up until a point where the DCS nodes will be completed removed and replaced with a modern SCADA package.  Hence, the requirement of a Modbus Slave card for the iQ-R (i.e. a QJ71MB91 equivalent) which I am told is in development, but has no fixed timescales.  Previous experience with Mitsubishi developments of cards is normally years not months. Any information anyone can provide on their experience of the iQ-R series would be greatly appreciated and if anyone knows if a Modbus Slave card is in development that would be useful.  I realise i could utilise the Q series extension rack with a iQ-R processor but this is not the route i want to go down. Thanks for any help and apologises for the war and peace. Cheers Matt
  12. In general, this control PLC program is written in GX Works. I did a simple visualization on TIA Portal v14 (WinCC RT Advanced) and I would like to now test it on Mitsubishi FX3U driver with ENET Module. I do not have much experience in this kind of thing, I'm still learning. I know that someone previously made a visualization in LabView and downloaded the tags from the PLC using NI OPC Server. Someone also did visualization in iFix and also downloaded tags through server opc. I do not know just how or what program to download tags in PLC so that I can no longer use it in visualization in TIA Portal. Unfortunately I still have a connection problem. The driver is connected to the router. From the connection options with RT Advanced I chose in the connections tab Mitsubishi and entered the appropriate IP. Still nothing. I do not know if the lack of a connection can be related to a virtual machine (VM Vare Workstation 12) on which I have TIA Portal installed. The driver pings but can not connect. I also tried using KEPServer EX to connect and unfortunately also failed. (I have information about the can not connect). Anyone know what program I should use? or had contact with such a problem? I attach a photo of communication from my station to more visualize the problem. Thanks

  14. Error 6706 Mitsubishi FX2N

Hey guys, I'm really a newbie on PLC's, I'm working with a metal sheet folding machine. The past programmer gave me it's code, but I guess he gave me the wrong one. So, I uploaded the program with GX Developer 8 to a Mitsubishi FX2N-32MR PLC, all looked fine until I tried to run out the program. The error 6706 appeared up on step 3928 (blue rectangle). I read something about it already in other posts. But I'm not quite sure what to do. Can someone point me on the right direction? I attached an image where the problem thst showed up.  Thanks.
  15. Hello all, I have 7 Q series PLCs on a Melsec net/h network, Ladder Programming none of that fancy smancy ST stuff LOL. Were running the QJ71LP21-25. Now to keep it short I have used all most all my devices in my Network Range Assignment. I can not set up low speed range as I do not have enough Link relays and registers at all stations. No memory for more devices just trust that I can not do it... However I have an abundance of File Registers ( no I cant buy B or W in the PLC File params, well I can but it wont help because only one CPU is UDE the rest are H.) I have a project in which I must see about 50 words for each Station at every Station. I figured while I am setting up a Transient Transfer I will make a bunch of extra room for future updates and junk. My answer good or bad, is to set up some Send/Recv commands and do some Transient Transfer. I think I have it just about all figured out just a few questions. I have two manuals I have been getting my info from Q MELSECNET/H Network System Reference Manual ( I think SHNA080049)  and the Melsecnet/h training manual.  1.Any one have any better manuals that better cover transient transfer? Or that are new enough to mention GX Works2 instead of Developer? 2. Is there a max device for each send/recv? (I keep thinking it is 980 per station but no idea where I got this number)( I will increase the max # of transients in the supplementary settings under network range...) 3. Any precautions or advice like, Hey don't do this, I did this once and.... 4. It looks like as long as I use different logical channels for each station I should be able to send and receive multiple "messages" at once with no error?? (I will test this and look for the "no room in receive buffer area f222 error)  5. Will this slow down the Cyclic transfers (I will be watching the SW006D and so on to make sure it does not slow my regular transmission down.) 6. I will be using several special relays and registers in the program of course. Any I should use that are not obvious?

  17. Hi all. Firstly, I am not a programmer, I just need advice. We have HMI's using NS-Runtime and we keep getting this message. Now, this is why I am contacting you all. This has happened over 20 times on 20 different HMI's which we have replaced over the last 3 years. We have been told by our software supplier that the com port is "on it's way out". There is NO WAY over 20 hmi's over that period will deveop com port faults. So my question guys, can someone give me a few tips on what to try before I change HMI's over ervery dang mponth please? I am really at the end of my tether here. We connect our HMI's to the Omron PLC's via a standard serial. If we change to another HMI the machine communicates after obviously a long period of downtime. Should we reset the plc? I will take ANY advise please guys.
  18. latch clear operation

what is latch clear operation and how is it triggered? Q03UDCPU connected to AB contrologix via ethernet sends data to L or latch relays and i read that it is only reset via latch clear operation. will for example L02 turn off if the bit is not triggered in the contrologix side?

  20. Hi,  I'm trying to test the serial communications with my Micro820. I acquired a 2080-SERIALISOL so I could have "someone" to talk to. I want to use RS485, so I figured that I'd have to connect: Modbus pin 1 (D+) to serialisol pin A1 (+485) Modbus pin 2 (D-) to serialisol pin B4 (-485) Modbus pin 3 (GND) to serialisol pin A2 (GND) Now when it comes to CCW, the thing gets a little harder. I know I need to use the MSG_MODBUS block (in fact I need 2, one for the modbus and another one for the serialisol), and I guess I specify the interface I'm using on the TargetCfg field (data type MODBUSTARPARA). But how do I figure out that the Addr (UDINT) and Node (USINT) values are for my Modbus and Serialisol? Or am I doing it wrong? Does anybody know of any place where I can get some more guidance or even a funcional ladder program? Thank you in advance

  25. Hello,  I have a Mitsubishi Q02U PLC connected through its serial port to a GS2107 hmi located on the same control panel. I need to add an additional GS2107 exactly the same as the first one at a distance of 80 meters from the control panel. How can I communicate with this new HMI ? Is there a special module to add to my configuration? I really dont know? Please advice. Thanks
