Kinetix 6500 - ip address changing procedure
gbradley replied to Pembuk's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Sounds like you got it. I used this setup to get me going, and it worked like a charm. The only think that I can add, is that the BootP utility has dialog boxes that can get hidden behind folders. I thought that it was hanging up, but it was just an acknowledge button that I was supposed to press. setting_IP_address_in_K6500 rev 2.pdf -
CompactLogix with Old Panel View standard
gbradley replied to Ben's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
WOW! $467.00 List for 1747-UIC. I know I paid $204.00 back in 2004 I've heard of inflation, but that is rediculous. -

gbradley replied to dheine1's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
You don't have a 1766-MM1 memory module Installed do you? Wow two guys beat me to it. -
You can try a Blended, but it will go through shades of purple. Just a thought, I'm learning Crimson 3.0 also.

RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk Activation
gbradley replied to gbradley's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I ended up placing the activation on a virtual server on my local network. At first I thought that I could Rehost the activation on my desktop, and then get new activation on the laptop, but I found out it wasn't a workable solution. Rockwell only allows three (3) reshosts in a 90 day period. I reached that limit pretty quickly, and got a message to contact Technical support. I called Technical support and Josh reset the limit back to 3, and talked me through setting up activation on my Local server. Especially putting"27000@" in front of the name of the server on the activation search path. I don't think I would have figured that one out. -
RSLogix 5000 and Factory Talk Activation
gbradley posted a topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I actually have two versions of RSLogix 500: Starter on my Desktop, and the Standard version on mylaptop. They each have their own activation on the respective C:drives. For this reason, I don't usually have to deal with Factorytalk Activation. I just purchased RSLogix 5000 9324-RLD200ENE I have a concurrent license. Both my laptop and desktop are connected on the same network. I want to be able to design logic on my Desktop, but also be able to download files to the PLC using my laptop. I think that I can use Factory Talk Activation Manager and Rehost my activation. Then go to my laptop, and use Factory Talk Activation Managerand Get new activation, but that seems a little bit cumbersome. I guess I don't quite understand the borrow function. Is there an easier way? Can you point me to a tutorial on how to move activation from my Desktop workstation to my Laptop? Thanks -
PVC - USB or Ethernet, which is fastest?
gbradley replied to brazierp's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
I found that the fastest way was to use the Connected Components Workbench Offline. Make a bunch of changes then download and verify online. I only have experience with the 3 and 4 inch PanelView Component models though. Please keep posting your results. -
Thanks for the Update. Can't wait to see the Video.

Sounds reasonable maybe the 24 is not really an integer? Based on the numbers in your pic. 8.092316 / 0.33719236 = 23.9991084 The 24 looks suspect.

Help required MicroLogix 1000 wiring diagram
gbradley replied to Duke55's topic in Allen Bradley / Rockwell Automation
Lots of good information gathered here if you need to see what Electrical symbols look like. http://www.patchn.com Your devices may draw too much power to be driven straight off the PLC Outputs. You will probably need some relays to actuate the magnets and locks. 700-HA32A1 or EQ. -
Thanks for posting the Video on the differences that you found regarding the reflective tape and the different types of sensors. (LED Vs Laser) Regarding your fans, I know that they will work in series the way that you plan on wiring them, but I bet that if one of them goes south, the other one will be sure to follow suit. You are probably better off with 24V Fans.

Hi Ron, Thanks for fixing it Sometimes I like to use this site:http://www.downforev...neorjustme.com/ It's usually just me, but sometimes a site is down for real. Nice to know one way or the other.

I'd like to 2nd the advice about not using White wire for anything other than #2 Neutral. Red or black for inputs is better. Nice work, and continue to keep us posted.

I was wondering the exact same thing. I wanted to make some changes with the Pvc DesignStation, but there is no Verify. Verify lets me now if I have overlapping buttons. Do you have to save your changes and then upload the file to the Panelview and then verify there?

Very Cool! Great job and Thanks for sharing.

One of my Favorite Computer Drafting Forums has been Compromised? I get the Get me out of here screen. This web page at www.cadtutor.net has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences. Has anybody else used that Site or noticed this. I don't know when this happened?

I see it is working OK now. Thanks

Great advice! Side roads beat the freeway almost any day. Belated Congrats Bob -
I don't know about Analog Proxy, but I'll bet that you can stack three or four standard proxys in a vertical line for a lot cheaper than that Radar detector. I have not had any luck with inductive proxys on Iron powder. I have used Capacitive prox switches with some success though. Were you able to pick up the Iron through the side of the tank with a standard Prox switch?
-
I wonder how much heavier the tank is with a layer of Iron precipitate on the bottom, compared to a clean tank? Probably not enough delta, but if it was enough, then perhaps you could just weigh it? Just thinking aloud.

If you Get dealt "Big slick"...The Ace King suited, remember why they call it The "Anna Kournikova". Looks great.... doesn't win anything. Good Luck!

I like Convert. Tiny, but powerful.

Firefox is nice and 2.0 is even better. I like the Red X allowing you to close tabs easily. This is old news, but IE7 still has some security issues. My I.T. guy asked me not to download it at work.
