  1. If the axis is a part of a co-ordinate system then can the other axis still operate?  You obviously need to remove the hardwired enable input when the table is removed. Have you tried inhibiting the axis programmatically using the GSV/SSV instructions?
  2. Is this a new install or an exisiting system? What is the full part number of your servo motor you have connected to the K6500? Are you using the hardwired enable input on the drive?
  3. Try using the original SYSMAC Studio install DVD to provide another path for the USB drIver file or reduce the file path C:\Program Files(x86)\Omron and include sub folders.
  4. NA bad responsiveness

Which version of SYSMAC studio are you running? There is a new version that has just been released in the last day or to. Have a read under the 《HMI》 section of the 1.17 update. This sounds very similar to your issue http://www.fa.omron.co.jp/product/tool/454/sysmac-studio/e1_doc.html  (Link supplied by Crossbow)
  5. Sysmac Studio Improvement Request

Twstevic: Not sure on your version but in v1.16 if you go to options, ladder view  (I think it is) you have the option to align to the right and change the width also.  Have a play with these settings. If your not a fan of green or pink tagnames/comments (which I'm not) you can mix this up too.
  6. Which Kinetix drives are you referring to? What are the model numbers of the Servo motors? If you have absolute encoders you may have to re-home these using Motion Direct commands.  If you do have absolute encoders check to see if the AxisXYZ.absolutereferencestatus bit is true in the L71 processor. (not 100% on the tag name at this hour of the day) After loading the project in to the L73 you might find this bit is false..
  7. The key word in your topic is legacy.  There are already a number of other posts available on this one. http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?/topic/30332-loading-ver-6-mer-file-into-factory-talk-studio/&do=findComment&comment=143344
  8. Addressing I/O

Try 4.00- 4.15 for the 2nd word of the 32 point input card.
  9. Homing in Sysmac Studio, NJ501

What I suggest for your benefit is pay the money and enrol yourself in an Omron NJ Training course. There is an G5 Servo option to the course so attend this as well. You will learn tonnes of stuff on the course rather than flooding the forum with topics you have posted. I have been using Omron products for nearly 20 years.  I still attended the course. Good luck
  10. Homing in Sysmac Studio, NJ501

Find the manual and search for "external home input". You will be amazed at what you find when you know what is the available.
  11. Ultra 3000 faulting

Does the servo motor have a brake installed ? I have to ask, but has it been tuned for all of the motion move profiles you are trying to achieve?  Whats the part numbers of the motor/drive and exlar actuator you have?
  12. Ultra 3000 faulting

Check encoder cable shield has a good connection inside the connector at the drive end. Sometimes it pays to wrap the shield in copper foil tape to increase the surface area for the clamp. This will help in reducing the noise. Do you have a spare motor and encoder cable to try?  Try ruling out one of the above.
  13. Check out Shawns invaluable blog http://theautomationblog.com/how-to-migrate-factorytalk-view-projects-to-windows-7-64-bit/
  14. No, If you have a redundant ethernet network Etaps are required to connect to single port devices. Like Panelviews or DrIves.  Unmanaged switches don't have this capability.
  15. You might need to update your PF755 AOP in Logix to the latest version v4.08.00 Go to AB Compatibility then search powerflex 755. Select version, then downloads.  Tick the select files box then download and install the file
  16. Are you controlling bits 8, 9,10,11 of the controlword from the PLC?  In particular, you can set the acceleration rate by setting bits 8 and 9 as follows: bit 8 = 1 and bit 9 = 0 set the Accel Rate toAccel Rate 1 (fixed in parameter P041 [Accel Time 1]) bit 8 = 0 and bit 9 = 1 set the Accel Rate toAccel Rate 2 (fixed in parameter P442 [Accel Time 2]) You can set the deceleration rate by setting bits 10 and 11 as follows: bit 10 = 1 and bit 11 = 0 set the Decel Rate toDecel Rate 1 (fixed in parameter P042 [Decel Time 1]) bit 10 = 0 and bit 11 = 1 set the Decel Rate toDecel Rate 2 (fixed in parameter P443 [Decel Time 2]) What version of firmware do you have on all 10 drives? Right click on the drive when in RSLinx and select properties.
  17. +1 on the offline variable tool. I was referring to AB RS5000 software but decided not to swear inside an Omron forum.  It would be of great benefit!
  18. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to store the last online variable values in the project file? It would be great to know that when you leave site you have all of the correct values. If the customer calls and you haven't backed up the variables how can you inform them on a particular variable value eg. Timer setpoint I believe this should be added to the Sysmac Studio improvements list in the near future.
  19. How many cpu processes have you assigned in your Win7 VM setup?    I have a fresh Win7 64Bit VM running with Studio 5000 v21,V24 and it opens the project file in up to 45secs. It has 2 processes assigned in the VM settings and 4GB ram. All of the latest windows updates have been installed as of a week ago.
  20. Hi Kaiser_will Thanks for your reply. We have decided to stick with K6500 servo drives and MPL motors on this project using an L36ERM to control them. There are also 2x auxiliary encoders required to follow 3rd party belt speeds. I didn't like the idea of using the ethernet ip rotary encoders out in the field due to the number of cables required and also the cost factor. Sounds like you had some great success with the K5500 drives on your project.
  21. Hi everyone. I am after some feedback from anyone who has used the Kinetix 5500 drives with Mpl motors on a motion project containing up to 12-18 axis. How reliable have they been? What logix firmware did you end up with?  I have used both the Kinetix 6000/6500/300 drives in the past but would like another opinion before I attempt to promote this product to my customer. Thanks
  22. Kinetix 6500 questions.

What processor and firmware are you using? What firmware revision are the drives at? We had a bunch of issues a year back and had to upgrade the firmware on the drives to V2.10 I think it was. Have a read of the latest release notes for the latest firmware revision. This is always an interesting read :)
  23. Hello all, I am after any feedback from anyone who is using either the L33 or L36 Compactlogix controllers. Our next project will have a small/medium size ethernet ip network with approximately 20 nodes made up of Variable speed drives (Not Rockwell) , Point IO modules, PVPlus HMI, Festo CPX terminals and a managed switch. I'm interested to know what firmware versions you are using, how many nodes on your network and experiences/ gotchas? Thanks
  24. Thanks Bob for the update, Gotta love well tested equipment... You would think this type of test is standard on all electrical equipment. Oh well looks like you will be busy swapping out servo drives in your companys own time.
