  1. C500 plc up for grabs

Here is the Omron C500 picture as promised and only a day late. could not find the programing console but I will have a dig and see if I can find it. There are 3 24V DC Input cards each with 32 Inputs and there are 3 24V DC Output cards each with 32 Outputs.
  2. Square d

I've recently come accross a Square D Symax PLC. A big old style monster with large 8 input cards which the client wants to keep using but wants the software changing to suit a modified control. Has Anybody come accross one of these and know what software  is required as there is nothing on the Sqaure D site.
  3. Square d

Would you like me to post a photo and some I/O details on monday. Don't forget this PLC is currently in Barnsley , UK and whoever want's it will either have to collect or pay the shipping costs, sorry  but i.m not made of money and it is quite heavy
  4. Square d

No it's got the old manual programmer with tape recorder input. We removed it from a site when I upgraded it to C2000 Duplex around 6 years ago and it's still sat in our stores on our maybe useful pile but i'm sick of seeing it.
  5. Cable for fx48er

From memory I don't think that the FX-48ER supports RS232 directly. If I remember rightly the programming lead is a RS422-RS232 convertor but i'm not sure as it's a while since I used the Mitsi.
  6. Square d

Well would you believe it, the jobs donw, the PLC's out and now the customers decided that after all that he wants to hang onto it just in case. I suppose it will end up on that big just in case pile that they all seem to want but never use, well I tried my best but failed. I have got an omron C500 if your interested ??
  7. Square d

Well the time has finally come the PLC's coming out next week as stage 3 of the project, once I get it out i'll find out how much it weighs and how much it's going to cost to ship it to the US of A
  8. Slc500 eeprom

If you havn't got RSLogix how are you going to verify that the program is correct after it has been written to the Eeprom ?
  9. Slc500 eeprom

If I remember rightly the SLC500 series Eeprom is written to whilst installed within the SLC500 by commands from the laptop, i've never heard of one being burned onto external to the PLC, but of course I may be wrong.
  10. Svga hardware question for hmi

If you need it there are also available splitters which would allow you to have one monitor at the base unit and one at the remote location showing the same information. What are you actually using this for. Chris
  11. Svga hardware question for hmi

How About OmniView™ Monitor Extender Belkin Part Number: F1D088 The Belkin OmniView™ Monitor Extender connects your monitor or projector up to 250 feet away from its source. Perfect for use in large classrooms, presentations, and other venues that use a large-screen projector. Cost around $70. check out the belkin site Belkin Monitor Extender
  12. Mitsubishi plc system password

Talk about bad practice, usually the companies which put password protection on plc software code are the ones who have since gone bust and left you in the lurch.
  13. Ab instruction use and examples

Well it works for me, seems a reasonable reference guide for the beginner, some of the advanced commands don't go anywhere but all in all a reasonable site. Is there a links page anywhere on the MrPLC website that this could be added to as a general reference point.
  14. Programming question

How about entering a numeric value on the panel view which is used within either a timer or counter within the PLC ladder logic. Make sure that your units on the panel view are sensible for the operation you are doing. i.e. don't try and get an operator to enter minute periods in seconds. Get them to enter the value direct in minutes. Within the software then you could have a 60 sec self reseting timer which increments the minute counters for the on and off periods.
  15. Square d

Charles, just got your email, you must have seen the earlier picture. I suppose  like any PLC manufacturer there are a wide range of systems and formats. This unit as far as I can make out has the following Comms Card Four Channel Analogue Input Card x 2 8 Channel Digital input Card x 4 8 Channel Digital Output Card x 1 From the drawings the MCC it is installed in was installed in the 80's not sure which as the handwritings fairly bad.
  16. Square d

For those of you who are interested here is the correct picture  of the symax PLC which I meant to post earlier. Sorry to those who got the bloated version but everyone makes a mistake once in a while !!
  17. Siemens plc system

well I thought the Allan Bradly site was hard to find the right document on the siemens is murder.
  18. Square d

After all that, and dispite the fact that I will be able to access the PLC, the customer has degreed he wants at trip amp and relays. Sometimes customers just won't behave !!!!!!  <> Thanks charles for you help but it looks like it's all in vane. Does anybody want a second hand symax PLC if I can get it for them
  19. Square d

:) A Heartfelt thanks to forum member cdisher who has not only worked with the symax plc but has pointed me towards the light.   To charles. With your knowledge and experience jump straight in and post in the forum the waters warm and we don't bite. Regards Chris Bramall, Barnsley, UK
  20. The KE Module is a DH485 to DF1 Single node protocol convertor. The customer that I was working for specified the model of the panelview which used the DH485 protocol as well . The only radio modem I could get which was approved used the DF1 protocol so thanks to some help from other members of this forum I managed to  get the whole lot working. using DH485 for local comms on the SLC5/04 and panelview and DF1 for the radio comms.
  21. The pin outs are in the AIC+ manual which I posted earlier. I know cause thats what I used to make up my lead.
  22. Share and Share alike, we all have had problems which others have helped us with so we just return the favour. What configuration of AIC+ and cables did you finally end up with then ?
  23. Siemens plc system

Well we've got our first contract using the siemens and post back with any majour differences (for better or worse ) when compared to the Allen Bradley / Omron  /Mitsubishi.
  24. Sorry about taking so long to reply I mist the post and must have marked it as read. When using the spectrum controls analogue outputs there is bit status for the channel so you could write in the software to change onto a different card in the event of an open circuit.
  25. yes the 1747-CP3 is right. But it all depends on what devices you want to connect. If you want to connect a panelview to the SLC5/03 RS232 port then you will have to use the DH485 Port  (where the PIC normally connects) to couple to the AIC+ unit using a 1761-CBL-AS09 (You can build your own and the pin outs are in the manual previously posted.) You can the connected to the AIC using the 1747-CP3 to the RS232 or the 1761-CBL-AP00 to the mini din. At the end of the day it depends what devices you want to connect. In one of my previous threads where I was using a radio link to get the right number of ports I had to network to AIC+ units to each SLC5/04 processor using the DH485 AIC+ port 3 to bridge between the units and a 1747-KE card. the mini din on the first unit went to the CPU the RS232 on the first unit went to the panel view which gave me either an RS232 or a mini din on the second to connect the laptop
