  1. Could also be that there is a button somewhere on the HMI and is setup to stop project. Seen that many times operator hits button and the project stops and goes to the development/ edit mode, but only if the RS View has the activations on it for RS View Works. Otherwise it justs goes to the project manager pop-up

  2. What he is doing is on first pass, setting all the register values on the analog card to zero and then writing the config values into the config words for the card if you go to data file N10:16 to 32 you will see values that he writes to the card. -32208 for example I like to write my config words constantly not just on first pass, just in case you need to change a value later on.

  3. Need Help!!! I have a controllogix processor that after 10 days or so the HMI lose communications to processor, I can no longer see the processor through RS Linx, I can see all the racks and all the I/O but I can't see the processor anymore. If I cycle power to the main rack the processor comes back up. But after 10 days or so it's gone again. The HMI's are on a seperate controlnet network. The I/O is on a differnet schelduled network, the plant is running fine, but like I said the HMI are losing communications. I even tried installing a Ethernet card in a remote rack and I still can't see the processor. ALso I have a panelview on a seperate controlnet network in a remote rack and it loses communications the same time as the HMI. Any suggestions? THanks

  4. Sounds to me like you have something else tying up your serial port, do you have RS Linx enterprise on your computer as well, I know that if I shut down RS Linx classic RS Linx Enterprise ties up my serial port. Go to task manager and see if RSLinxNG.exe is running if it is, then shut it down and stop the DF-1 driver and start it again. using the startup options on RS Linx.

  5. Same problems I have experienced, that cycling the panelview, fixes it temporarly, but after doing a firmware flash to the latest 4.00.06 or higher has corrected the problem with these panelview plus's I think it has something to do with the panelview not reading the tags, the older firmware only seemed to poll the tags on demand, like when that screen is first displayed, then it would timeout and not refresh. firmware flash fixes those issues.

  6. RSView ME works quite well for security purposes. Fist setup the screens you want and when you right click the screen under display properties setup the severity of the screen. This way depending on the user logged into the system those are the screens you can access from that station. Setting up users is simple. Select users in your explorer bar and have the 3.xx tab open add users to your program and select the severites of that specific user. Then once complete click on the 4.0 tab and in the top left explorer bar under user select migrate 3.xx users and that is all you need to do. Then in your application they will go to your login screen and depending on users logged in, this will determine which screens they have access to. Panelview plus's only access tags as needed so that shouldn't bog down your network. Trending however polls the tags at what ever your interval is setup in your datalog setup.

  7. You could also upload the program from the panelview using the dh-485 cable you have. In Panelbuilder32, once you select upload point to SLC and there should be a plus symbol beside it click it and it will show the df-1 port and then upload that way. If you are getting a error however when uploading the problem might be that the file is corrupt on the panelview
