  1. cable help

Any straight through serial cable will work, I currently have one that is 50ft and i use it for extension on my DH+ cable and for my PM02 cable for a micrologix with no problems.
  2. Our company actually makes and devlops rotary cams that read 4-20Ma signal back. Would more then likely be able to adapt a system for you if needed. http://www.cai.ca/madi_x.html If you need more info let me know.
  3. RS-View32 stopping.

Could also be that there is a button somewhere on the HMI and is setup to stop project. Seen that many times operator hits button and the project stops and goes to the development/ edit mode, but only if the RS View has the activations on it for RS View Works. Otherwise it justs goes to the project manager pop-up
  4. You can run RS Logix group RS Linx and RS View 32 with no problems on Windows XP Home, anything with factorytalk requires XP Pro thats all.
  5. Are you setting it up as RS Linx OPC server, are you using rs linx lite for controllogix you need to use rslinx opc server for tags this seems to work the best
  6. RS View 32

Yes you are right, I believe is is talking about RS View Studio development not RS View 32 I gather from the mer. file
  7. I was just about to tell you that it the evicom activations causing conflict, had that issue many times glad to see you got it solved
  8. What he is doing is on first pass, setting all the register values on the analog card to zero and then writing the config values into the config words for the card if you go to data file N10:16 to 32 you will see values that he writes to the card. -32208 for example I like to write my config words constantly not just on first pass, just in case you need to change a value later on.
  9. Need Help!!! I have a controllogix processor that after 10 days or so the HMI lose communications to processor, I can no longer see the processor through RS Linx, I can see all the racks and all the I/O but I can't see the processor anymore. If I cycle power to the main rack the processor comes back up. But after 10 days or so it's gone again. The HMI's are on a seperate controlnet network. The I/O is on a differnet schelduled network, the plant is running fine, but like I said the HMI are losing communications. I even tried installing a Ethernet card in a remote rack and I still can't see the processor. ALso I have a panelview on a seperate controlnet network in a remote rack and it loses communications the same time as the HMI. Any suggestions? THanks
  10. Go down to channel configuration and see what Channel 0 reads for you
  11. No it doesn't have a inactivity bit, but what I do is setup logic in the processor that runs a timer and every 30 minutes it unlatches a bit, which in turn I use as a derived event in RS View to cause a logout. Works quite well and only take about a minute to setup.
  12. SCP help!

sorry missed the xio just never used it like that I have seen it done on analog configurations, but I don't do that way
  13. rslinx error

Sounds to me like you have something else tying up your serial port, do you have RS Linx enterprise on your computer as well, I know that if I shut down RS Linx classic RS Linx Enterprise ties up my serial port. Go to task manager and see if RSLinxNG.exe is running if it is, then shut it down and stop the DF-1 driver and start it again. using the startup options on RS Linx.
  14. SCP help!

Just wondering why you have it setup to only scan the SCP on first pass?
  15. RSVIEW32 trend

Had the same problem on a HMI running ActiveX TrendX Wrapper Changed all the trends to normal TrendX and am running RS View 7.20 and TrendX 3.42 I believe. This fixed the problems. Not to sure if that will help you or not
