  9. SCADA Forum

Yes, I also agree that it should be limited in sections. But, I can't understand why it should be here the forum named "Computer Help and Networking" than "SCADA and Automation Networking".
  10. Help with serial port

Yes, rainofwind You are quietly correct. I also think it isn't hardware problem. But, let's wait his reply.
  11. Help with serial port

Hi markn, This FAQ will answer your question about checking the serial port. But I think it is the problem due to your RSLinx version. 'Cause I had met the problem before. Some of RSLinx version can't be configured in a virtual machine like "VPC for Windows", and they can't communicate with "USB to RS232" virtual serial port and bla bla bla bla ............. My final solution was reinstallation of WIN98 on another primary partition of HDD and reinstallation of RSLinx and RSLogix as well. ""Don't forget to backup your activation keys"" Cheer to manufacturers!

  15. manual MICRO WIN & copy comment

Hi, You cannot copy the program, status chart, symbol table, or data block in its entirity. However, you can select individual networks, instructions, or rows and copy them one piece at a time. There are two ways to copy material from one project to another. Using Two Instances of STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 1. Open two separate instances of STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32. (Double-click on the STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 icon or choose Simatic>STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 from the Start menu. Repeat.) 2. In the first instance of STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32, use File>Open to open the project from which you wish to copy. 3. Select the material and use CTRL + C or Edit>Copy to copy it. 4. In the second instance of STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32, use File>Open to open the project into which you wish to paste the material. 5. Place the cursor at the appropriate location and use CTRL + V or Edit>Paste to paste the material. Note: Remember to save your work in this project before closing it. Using a Single Instance of STEP 7-Micro/WIN 32 1. Use File>Open to open the first project, the one from which you wish to copy. 2. Select the material and use CTRL + C or Edit>Copy to copy it. 3. Use File>Close to close the first project. 4. Use File>Open to open the second project, the one into which you wish to paste the material. 5. Place the cursor at the appropriate location and use CTRL + V or Edit>Paste to paste the material. Note: Remember to save your work in this project before closing it. For Manuals, check this site. http://www.automation.siemens.com/simatic/...rt/techdoku.htm Good luck!
  16. what is part number in sc-09 cable ?

Hi! It isn't zener. It's more likely to be varistor or surge-supressor. I think those devices are parts of RS232-RS485 interface converter. You should spread the area of "bmp window" so that the others can see and suggest more conveniently. Please be patient to edit your pict.
  17. Program protection

Hi, Please be patient. I am trying to program a sample code using CX programmer V5.0. I have decided to post it here using PDF format.
  18. S7-200 Pros and Cons

Ans: 1)S7-200 family needs MICROWIN or MICRODOS softwares. Any versions of STEP7 can only handle the S7-300 and S7-400 systems. The family named LOGO uses the LOGOSOFT. 2)Wizards help us with default settings and default options. The ones who don't know much about the MENU/COMMANDS of the software can use wizard to set up a new project. 3)Some have merrit, some have demerrit. 4)Yes, you can but choose wisely. 5)Yes, use speciality modules if needed. 6)Based on program. 7)I'm not sure. But, do you hate wizards?
  19. S7-200 Pros and Cons

Hi, Please let me know what you really want. I think I can help you.
  20. Program protection

Sure, you can. Use an internal clock timer and a control relay and/or jump subroutine in function block. If I know your PLC model, I can explain in detail. Good luck
  21. Texas Instruments 140-1111

Hi, You can purchase the (100-3101) Standard programmer for TI 100. http://www.tirepair.com/ But have you tried to backup EEPROM with a universal EPROMER and open it with window based software? I have tried once and successfully managed the original program (although can't monitor the PLC operation).
  22. Mx4 and Citect.

Hi, In Citect example, it can't be. The example uses the Ram Disk PLC and/or Hard Disk PLC. Those PLCs are simulation PLCs and Dxxx are only the bits in them. With real PLC, the variable tags you want to generate depend on the type of PLC selected.

  25. Attention: To All Once I had an interface converter (1747-PIC) for Allen-Bradley SLC5/01 PLC. But it was broken due to my students' fault. I can't fix it till now. I have decided to replace it with an easy-2-use RS485 converter. There is a problem with "EN" signal for transmission (PIN 5 of RJ45 connector at SLC side). I think it is driven by RTS signal from RSLinx. Please kindly let me know the solutions as Best regards AnO anoase@myanmar.com.mm
