Hello, I understood that your ideea is tool retrieve the application from TP 170, and then you will translate the texts or messages on your PC, after that you will transfer back the application into TP 170. Unfortunately the ideea is not good. Maximum that you can get from Simatic panel is a compiled back-up copy. That copy is useful for situations when you need to replace the panel with a new one, same model. For the back-up copy you can use Prosave tool from Siemens. Usually is installed with Wincc Flexibile or old Protool software. If you want to translate the text and messages you will need the original project. You will create your version, or you will use function for second language. If you dont have the project for HMI (TP 170), ask to machine supplier to send you. dekor.

Hi, usually the QVZ is not flashing... My be is the STOP led flashing, and then probably the program is missing on CPU. If STOP is rapid flashing, CPU is in the soft STOP state. Overall reset has been requested by switch or from the operating system. If STOP is slow flashing, CPU is in the soft STOP state. Dear friend, on my opinion the better software is PG 2000 from process-informatik company. http://www.process-informatik.de/page/newhome〈=en_ I use this soft for several years and I can tell you honestly is much better. At least try a demo version for comparison. More than that can be used also on S7 PLC... dekor.

Dear friend, check on this forum about my post regarding DY converter for S5 PLC. If you have not experience with Step 5 programming tools, I suggest you to check a different software. Is much easy for the peoples that want to use Windows OS instead DOS. The software is called PG 95 or newer version PG 2000. It is more intuitive, and can open ALL type of S 5 PLC blocks. You need a good adapter for USB to RS 232 . I suggest you to use same like me : FTDI . All the best, dekor.

Dear friend, I will suggest you a different way to erase the memory. Try to buy an UV eraser. Is very cheap. Put the entire module inside, without the small label on the IC, and let him for 20 minutes. Then you can start to program on your PG. If you dont' have a UV eraser you can make your own . Take a mercury or sodium vapors light bulb. Break with care the exterior glass. Do not destroy other parts. (It will be powered again as in normal way of use). Inside you will find a special quartz baloon. Don't touch by fingers. This baloon will generate the high level of UV. Then you will put the EPROM module at low distance from quartz bulb (5 cm). Apply power supply as normal way for the original light bulb. When is powered put him under a non transparent and non flamable cover. WARNING: be carefull with electrical insulation. Have you remove with power off of PLC? Did you have EPROM inserted on CPU? As I know S5 don't have CPU password protection like S7. Wat is your programing experience with S5? Have you use before the S5 for windows software? Try to use PG2000, or PG95 software. This will revel all the blocks in CPU and more than that : will open any block !!! Dear friend, In my opinion I think there is a wrong assignment for outputs on DB1. Try to have a look in pictures attached. The program send the signals to QB16 and QB 17, but on DB you have assigned the adress QB22, QB23.... On other hand, have you supply (connect) with power the modules ? With respect, dekor.
