Omron & AS400

Hi. i have a question. a customer ask me to do communication between our automation plant and their AS400 ( Orchestra ) there i have a CJ1W without ETN21. i've only to send & receive about 15-20 words... so i think that i can use only serial port... i've never used AS400 and i dont know how is the best portocol and how to exchange words... someone have experience on this??? Or know some product that do this??? thank you. valerio

i have seen so far only libraries to interface with Visual Basic, but from your question it seems you have to connect directly from CJ. Can't you simply have a PC with software communicating with both AS400 and CJ? AS400 is an IBM system, have you tried to contact them explaining your needs?
