Can I use CIP motion over network with third party servo drive

6 posts in this topic

Hi all,

I am wondering if Rockwell allow me to use third party EthernetIP servo drive to talk over network and use Motion instructions for camming and gearing profile.

Is it possible to do this?

if not, what are the options?

Thanks.

Yes it does.

Also when I create an axis it does not let me select third party drive in module option.

Yes I do have basic AOIs, but want to find a way to use Rockwell Motion cam and gear instructions over the network.

The vendor will need to provide an Add-on-Profile, not and Add-on-Instruction, to make this possible.  Then the brand/model will show up in the Add Module dialog with the appropriate capabilities.
