Micrologix 1400 - Ethernet Port

Can the Ethernet Port be used for HMI connection or programming or is it as i feared and only for email, peer to peer messaging etc ?

Yes you can use the ethernet I/P port for programming, HMI or messaging. Just cant drop I/O off of it like the logix. rw

I love the 1400's, currently have two connected to Red Lion displays & OSI-PI (historian) via the ethernet port. The ethernet functionality is similar to the SLC 5/05's

I agree good plc. I use ethernet port for programming, HMI, VPN but I don't know I can use it for do remote IO! I asking rockwell for M1100 and remote IO is not possible for this plc. Are you sure M1400 can do it?

The 1400 is a great addition, just like the ML1100 but capable of more expansion slots, I do a lot of analog...but can someone explain to me why I'm having such a hard time getting these. I ordered one on 1/15/2010 and am looking at over 1 month for it to get here
