1769 compact logix L32E

Hi, I try to set up my all new 1769L32E, when i want to transfert the project the PLC request for firmware update, is it normal or i am doing something wrong, then i try to update it (Via ethernet), and it failed i can not connect to update via DF1 ?? thanks

I don't have experience on this module, but I set up ControlLogix series PLC. You have to upgrade the firmware of the controller first because it only has a low level firmware (Ver 1.00x?) for communication. And for a brand new controller, you cannot upload anything because no program has been download there. And I set up the communication with the controller by DF1 or through an Ethernet module for firmware upgrade. Either way work perfectly. The DF1 worked much slower than the Ethernet way, so I use the later method ever since. Edited 19 Sep 2007 by Taotaoba

The firmware update is REAL common just let it update... It needs to be the same version that it was written in. I never saw one fail before. will it let you try again? Edited 19 Sep 2007 by finfin
