  1. Bright pilot light

TW, the color code required in my case is Red for FAULT, Amber for WARNING, White for NORMAL operations. I cannot use K50 for white lights. There's no color changing, just ON and OFF. But still thanks for the explanation and the image.
  2. Bright pilot light

Thank all you guys! The Banner K50 looks cute, but most of lights on my panel are white. The Fusetek BA9S is certainly worth a look. I might try to get one to test it. I also got some hints on products from LEDTRONICS. Check this link out: http://www.ledtronics.com/pages/downloads/panel.pdf. It even boasts as "sunlight visible super bright"! How delightful! Thanks again for all the inputs!
  3. Bright pilot light

Does anybody know suitable pilot lights under direct sunlight? I have built a mobile control panel used outdoor, and the customer complained about the visibility of the pilot light under direct sunlight. The pilot lights used are A-B 800T LED 24V type. I checked the lights myself and I think it's OK because of the special design of the light cap. You can see if the light is on or off even under very bright sunlight. But the customer is not completely satisfied. I've done some homework but cannot find a product suitable. Is there anybody having similar experiences? I'm looking for some suggestions. Thanks in advance.
  4. 5/03 comms problem

Hartman, from your posts, I suppose the communication route is DF1(RS232) from SLC processor => RS232/RS422 converter => RS422 cable => RS232/RS422 converter => Modbus port of your DCS. Did you do something as Mickey suggested? You need a third party module to make DF1 and Modbus talk to each other.
  5. Machine control vs. process

The most important skill for process I think is knowing how to tune up a PID loop. This is not an easy job. Hope the following link give you some hints. http://www.controlguru.com/pages/table.html
  6. Perhaps you need to check your grounding. PV+ has a "strange" design that the 24VDC "-" terminal is inter-connected to the GND terminal. This may cause unexpected current passes through it if the grounding is not proper.
  7. I don't have experience on this module, but I set up ControlLogix series PLC. You have to upgrade the firmware of the controller first because it only has a low level firmware (Ver 1.00x?) for communication. And for a brand new controller, you cannot upload anything because no program has been download there. And I set up the communication with the controller by DF1 or through an Ethernet module for firmware upgrade. Either way work perfectly. The DF1 worked much slower than the Ethernet way, so I use the later method ever since.
  8. I have no problem with my Windows XP system. Every time it pops up the title.
