BTR AND BTW AGAIN

HI GUYS. i'M TRYING TO INSTALL A DATALINER INVIEW USING RIO MODULE (PRIOP) AND SLC 5/03 OS 301 W/OUT BTR BTW, I WAS USING COP INSTRUCTIONS BUT I COULDN'T MAKE THIS STUFF WORK. THE SYSTEM CONFIGURATION IS: A CPU SLC 5/03, ONE MODULE 1747-SN (SLOT1), CONFIG. 1 SLOT/ GROUP, LOGICAL RACK 0, FULL RACK. THE INVIEW MESSAGE DISPLAY IS 2706-P22R. SOMEONE HAVE A LADDER EXAMPLE, IT WOULD BE VERY HELPFULL!!!!

Now that is ancient way of doing things. Had to think back a minute. This Rockwell Knowledgebase Example should help.

I've did them both ways, the old and the new. If it was me I would spend the money for the firmware upgrade. BTW/BTR are sooooooooooooooooooo much easier. I think the cost of the firmware is offset by the time savings.

In fact.. the only "cost" is the time involved in obtaining the upgrade module. As of a couple years ago anyway, A-B supplied the upgrade modules for free!
